- The Frozen Femme Fatal ❄️💃 -
This fly is one of my go-to flies for seatrout fishing at the coast! Several times when other flies didn't work, this one caught trout for me.
I use Whiting Spey feathers from a hen cape. I don't know if that's what does the trick. You never know. When you have luck with one type of fly, you tend to use it again-of course!
The body gives a subtle flash effect and is still has some transparency due to the body hackle.
Please comment if you have questions about tying this fly or the materials used👍
Materials:
Whiting Spey hen feathers for tail and front hackle
Dry fly feather white
Vinyl rib grey, medium
Mirage tinsel opal
Ahrex NS122 size 4
Red bead chain eyes, small
Veevus GSP white 50D
2 turns over is not enough to tightens a feather to the hook, but very nice fly you got there👍
Best fly I have used when I lived in Sweden... caught fish all the way down to the mangrove of Mexico.Well done. Would love for you to try my bobbin holder. leave me a comment if interested. Will ship you a free sample.
This is superb along with the one you tie with the pheasant rump 👍can I ask is that Spey hackle available where you are
Thank you! Yes they are quite simular👍 it's difficult to find them and they are often sold out very fast. Sometimes www.nordicanglers.com have them. You can get a grey version here: korsholm.dk/produkt/whiting-spey-hackle-hen-cape/white-dyed-medium-dun-1
