Watching the D'Lo one, I started thinking that you have everything that makes some youtube content great. The editing, the script, the pacing, the sense of humour, all these things are just great in my opinion. I know nothing about editing or scriptwriting, but I truly believe that if you keep making videos and refining your craft you can become one of the best basketball analysts on youtube. First, thank you for making this video, I'm going through a very similar situation right now myself. For me personally, I'm divided between being the rock in her life, or being the emotional relief she needs. Just have to take it day by day, but your video definitely helped me put my own thoughts/emotions into perspective. On topic of money in the medical business - it's infuriating. Doing a little research reveals that a lot of hospitals/medical centers are in fact privately owned, but operate as a non-profit, which creates a huge tax loophole which drives these huge price gouges. Hospitals (or other private companies) are the ones who negotiate the charge type with each insurer every year, creating a notoriously high charge master list (that grows every year). Next, medical bills will be adjusted down to each insurer's negotiated price (Often shown on the bill as "allowed amount" or "contractual adjustment"), while the rest is written off as a loss on the books, followed by the patient eating the remainder. It's disgusting the amount of greed that these executives have, and healthcare for all is one side of the coin, this tax loop hole is the other and frankly deserves a lot more attention as it's one of the most profitable businesses in all of history. Well the fact that you realize that the type of support she needs may vary from day to day and are willing to be receptive to whatever that support may entail is a sign to me that you are on the right track in your efforts to support her, and I hope you can continue to support her as best you can while still taking time to care for yourself as well. As for the healthcare piece, we are definitely in the middle of a truly nasty system. The stuff I learned in my health law/tax classes in law school made me want to throw up (Just like every other class in that school that removed the veil of how this country really operates loool). I've been recently dealing with some gastrointestinal stuff that required me to get an MRI, but my insurance would only approve the torso part of the MRI and not the pelvis, even tho thats where the pain was....like IM GOING IN THE MACHINE ANYWAY JUST APPROVE IT YOU WEENIES lmao Just a system of shenanigans that does not serve its purported purpose in the slightest And Katie Porter definitely be cookin them folks when she bring the whiteboard out lmao
