Build an Outdoor TV Cabinet | Installing Weather Resistant Outdoor TV | How to Build Outdoor TV Box

This video is part of a larger wall garden project that I am working on. This is how I built this outdoor TV cabinet from wood, without needing to spend a fortune on an outdoor TV!
It's worth repeating that my goal wasn't to make this water proof, but do the best I can to make it as water resistant as possible.

The steps were easy, simply install posts the width you need, and add 1x6's horizontally across the front. Secure them with exterior or wood deck screws. Build a TV Cabinet slightly larger than the size of your intended TV. I wish I left a little more room in mine, because the exterior weather proof TV cover is hard to get on. But the minimal space between the cabinet and TV looks great!
After the framing of the cabinet is finished, build the doors. I made sure to include 3-4 "water resistant" measures in hopes of keeping as much water from getting in as possible.
Water proofing the TV cabinet:
1) Use Supreme Silicon in all of the corners and joints of the INTERIOR of the cabinet. amzn.to/3STmaGi
2) Ensure there is some sort of roof or covering over the doors.
3) Inside of the door, add trim pieces that align with the outside cabinet and silicon those (you'll see in the video)
4) Add weather stripping to the top of the doors
5) Ensure the TV has a weather proof cover. amzn.to/3QRkhY1

No, they’re so much more expensive. I could buy 5 normal TVs for the cost of 1. Just get a nice outdoor cover and make sure it’s mostly weather proof and should be good for a bit. We had a regular Black Friday special on our deck for 5+ years before bringing it inside and it still works fine
