Definitely a dodgy walk out in the mud Gary. The tide certainly came in very fast and thank goodness you didn't get cut off. Absolutely stunning image's.
Talk about Risk & Reward! I've often heard you mention risk & reward in your videos but this proves the point. Great video Gary and the end result speaks for it's self.
Thank you Gary, what a great video ..wonderful final image and composites "looking back from out at sea"..You did a wonderful job to create your final vision ..cheers!!
brilliant luck to choose that day. gorgeous photo and more so because I know the spot so well. love it, you said its hard to sell photos but I think that would be a winner all day 👍
Fantastic subject and yes splendid in your fine art style ! I really like the shot with you in it looking out to sea ! gives a sense of scale and wonderment !!
Woww another fantastic video but wowww talk abt an awesome structure 👌👌👌👌 your very brave venturing out there, omg i was white knuckled when I saw you stumble and sink. Amazing image Gary and thanks soooo much for sharing yr adventures with us. From this photographer down under ( in Australia) 😃👌👏👏
Sunning! The simplicity of the composition is amazing. I can see what attracted you to this spot and the fact you had to go to so much trouble to get there makes it so much more interesting.
Brilliant Gary, Been to the island before. Loved the suspense of the incoming tide. Pleased it worked out for you and the final images were outstanding, bravo sir!
Thankyou so much for sharing your knowledge, I now am producing some decent long exposures which are my favourite pics. I absolutely loved the excursion to lewis isle.
I live in the north east and have never seen any images that use the structure, but iv got a feeling im about to see alot more, if anyone is brave enough lol. I absolutely love all of them, great work Gary.
Well, that was quite an adventure, though I wasn't worried about you getting stuck in the mud or drowning - or you wouldn't have posted the video! I wasn't so keen on the structure at first but then loved it with the reflection that grounded it more. Always interesting to see your process and your creative foresight. Sweet success!
I love that location and I’ve been there hundreds of times to shoot. I have never ever considered shooting that refuge. Great thinking out of the box. Great video and images. Nice one 👍👍
Excellent images, I'm always nervous going out on the mud when you don't know the area, hopefully you let someone know you were heading out. Always like your videos, they are helpful and inspirational.
I have to tell Gary that I love your videos. From Mach Loop to amazing landscapes like this, it's so relaxing and peaceful that even a little s**t from time to time can't spoil it. After a day at work, watching your videos is like balm to the eyes and ears. Regards
Some people would look at that structure and just walk on by, but when you add an eye and talent to it, the results are superb! And how weird was that foam rolling in?! Great video, thank you.
This was a well planned adventue, expertly executed, imho. They say art is subjective whether fine or not. I say you nailed this subject, and the final image is indeed fine!
Been there across that causeway as most other photographers have and just about made it back in a terrible storm, I thought it was very risky doing what you did there will bound to be others trying the same thing, but such is life, your finished picture looked great so I am pleased that you got what you wanted. Thanks for taking us with you.....
They’re all amazing. It’s a little scary to see just how fast the tide came in. I’m glad it didn’t force you to retreat and you were able to get several images. Your fine art images are truly worthy to be displayed on any wall for many people to enjoy. Nice video. I think you may be a little bit of a risk taker, which adds more interest to the video.
Thank you for taking us on this excursion and talking us through on what you had considered in your planning. The output you created is absolutely stunning and provides further great examples of why I love your fine art approach so much.
Gary, I like the way you said “I’m excited by that “ when you pointed at the structure. It looks like an alien structure to me. I’d like to see it at night, with stars reflected in the water, yea 😂
I tell my wife if I die during a photo shoot, mostly by doing something risky, make sure to check my memory card to see if it was worth it! Love your work. I’m working on long exposures now to get the basics time before I subscribe.
I live not far from Holy Island and I am planning to go there again soon while the tide is in. I doubt whether I would risk doing what you did (she who must be obeyed would not allow it!!). Very good photos and I prefer the photo with just the structure.
definitely unique Gary as I can't recall seeing any images of this particular refuge before and look forward to hopefully seeing more about the processing in the members section as the final images were fantastic
You live on a Great Island. I‘m a Little Bit jealous because i live in the middle Office Germany. 😢 live you Videos , for me as a Hobby fotograph so inspiring. Thanks Allot and Jeep going.
Never been to Lindisfarne - I was planning on going with my friend who sadly died of cancer before we made it. And, that route looks really scary... Lovely images Gary. Thank you for sharing ❣️. Great to see the cameos.
How the chuff did I miss this 😮 Those refuges are fascinating structures ,perfect for minimal work as you've ably shown 👌 Dangerous ? Daft ? Didn't stop you though ( nutter 😅)
Fantastic as usual Gary 👍📷. Was there in 2020 after lockdown but not as brave as you, I just jumped out the car on the way back to the mainland and grabbed some shots 😂🤣. Thanks again for this.
Hi Gary, Thx for for all your very inspring videos. I've got a question regarding the comagnon Element backpack 30L you are using in this Video. I'm currently looking for a backpack for water risky environment such as kayaking (mainly on lakes) and tide risky location when using waders to stay in the see as long as possible. So what's your experience when the bag goes in the water for a certain period of time. Unfortunately there are no information on their website for the finished bag specifciations in this regard. Thx in advance.
The reason you have not done this before, as in other years to busy photographing Puffins on the islands ;) LOL Pushing it a bit on this venture -- as you say that mud sand is very un predicatable --- tested it last year and decided against it. Good Photo by the way :) Have to pick you on £6.99 --- think you could get a crate of Bud for that at the moment.
Man in water and looking out to sea- love them both! Incredible
:) Cheers 👍👍
The last one, looking back out to sea is my favourite.
Cheers 👍👍

Those sensor spots didn't bug me at all ;)

What do they use that structure for
Never been to Lindisfarne - I was planning on going with my friend who sadly died of cancer before we made it.
And, that route looks really scary...
Lovely images Gary. Thank you for sharing ❣️. Great to see the cameos.
Lindisfarne is a lovely place Heather - I recently attended one of Gary's workshops held on the Island and it is a super place to be for photography.
Something very simple turned into a masterpiece, great job Gary and as always thanks for sharing.
Many thanks. Cheers John 👍👍
Love the images with you in the frame. Some of your best fine art Images Gary. 👍
