Thanks!! I was wondering if that should be another video maybe. But this is the only time I've really done it, so I figured it'd be fine to leave in here.
ha! how did you plant yours? tbh these were my (edited) second palm seeds (first were christmas palm trees), so i'm hoping I can do much better the next time around!
I have small cuttings with few roots that I put in the water for rooting? Should I put it in the peat moss? Or does it remain in the water until rooting? Or does the water lead to her death?? Because it is expensive!!! ? I do not know why?! ??
oh no! I don't have any experience starting these guys in water. if they have roots, I would put them in potting soil/perlite/coconut coir. if they don't have roots, I think you can leave them in water for a little while until you see new growth. but it may take a few months
Ha! yeah I agree. I guess my thought is maybe they drop into a river or ocean and get battered around a bit and then land somewhere and germinate? for humans, we like things a little less rough haha
I have used nail files on my pony tail palms! I did try to sand some seeds at one point, but i think i took off too much shell so I tried to be more precise
hey! thanks for checking in! I am okay I have had a lot of life changes in the last few weeks and a vacation or two, so I'm just a bit slower right now >< was going to respond to your tylecodon question, I actually just lost my seedlings like you did, so now I am going to do some research to see what they need :(
Have you tried to germinate palm trees? Or fishtail palms? Let me know!
I have just got hundreds of them.. Wish me luck😁
Great advice with the scarification or the germ pore! :)

‘Germination pore’ add that one to my plant vocab. Cool video, glad to see you back and your channel growing!
pore of good hope
@@keshinishudan2536 yes, pray to the gods and hope it germinates
Thanks! I can't take credit for germination pore, unfortunately! Palm nerds came up with that one
sawmill ass and coconut ass is the BEST GROWER I used with the washed water from fish one a week
hahaha thanks for watching!
Caryota
Just wanted to let ya know you inspired me to grow adenium obesum from seed and now I have a bunch of lil chunky seedlings!
Oh yea!! I was about to do a year update on some of mine! That’s great to hear!! Keep me updated as they grow!
I too have 3 baby caryotas that are healthy and happy but also very slow. I had a 100% success with germination as i only planted 3 seeds :)

8 months old! Wow they SLOW slow
Yeah man, I mean, I did see some roots in 4-8 weeks, but no leaves until maybe July :-/

its a miracle how these species did not go extinct, i mean that's a whole lot of foster care.

@@HaniyaRae they leaf'ies givin an appearence that they are half grazed or pruned, so maybe the herbiovore rascals did'nt bother her much.
oh that's a funny thought. the leaves are fairly tough. I'm now trying to find herbivores in cambodia that might munch on it hahaha
I haven't tried germinating fish tail palms, only date palms.
Regarding scarification, I have used sand paper before. It feels more "safe"

@@HaniyaRae makes sense. Though with fine grit sandpaper you have more control on how much you remove

"Embarrassingly long" same here hahaha
God. How do people do it??
Long time no video, are you ok?🌵🤘
