One of these screamed past me on the motorway.. I was doing 70mph...but I thought I'd left the brakes on by the ease in which I was passed. Dark racing green as well...looked awesome.
what i like this review -its HONESTY (AT LEAST IN COMPARISON WITH OTHER CAR REVIEWS)ITS NOT JUST DESCRIBING THE CAR ITS TELLING YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ,INCLUDING MINUSES
I wish the air vents on my car would fold away when I'm not using them. Its just so fekkin inconvenient having them just there in front of me doing nothing.
That's a subjective view and I hope that you are commenting from a position of Boxster ownership. I'm on my second Boxster and it is no where near boring! It's a beautiful precision engineered future classic that makes me smile everytime I get the chance to flex its muscles. That said,I will be owning the F type at some point because it's a stunning car.
@@sumertime5 I had two Boxsters too (987.1 S & 981 Gts) They are excellent cars in every single way, even better than the Jag on some levels but the Jag is wayyyy more fun! I’m so glad I swapped my Gts for a F type r roadster! 🙌🏽
Always wondered what Marcus Lemonis was driving and what it was all about. Got my answer. He grew up in the car business, so it must be good. Love the sound of an angry V8 over anything but a V10 Lamborghini.
To the whole options argument, I love them. I loathe option packages and over the top standard features. Let me choose exactly what I want in my car down to the smallest degree, and don't assume I want bunch of needless (to me) add-ons. If features were all standard, it would be reflected in whatever the price is, so having to choose tick or box or not not ends up being the same thing.
Looked at them the other day and came to the conclusion that I would still go with a Boxster over this. Nice looking car though, you would not have any regrets purchasing one.
I am tempted by a used F-type...love the looks and the noise, but that boot is just too small. I'd be using this for a lot of UK and Continental holidaying, and the wife and I like to take more than a toothbrush and a pair of socks away with us. Plus we tend to buy bits and pieces when mooching around towns and shops. Had a Boxster for a couple of years, and the rear and front boots together were adequate. I expect more storage with a soft roof. If I would put up with limited storage in the boot, better to go for an SL than this and have the benefits of the hard roof system, especially if I can get one with the glass roof to give a less claustrophobic feel with the roof up. Plus the SL has loads of room for small cases or holdalls behind the seats.
I wonder from the amount of comments talking about which is better and why (boxster vs f type), how many of these people have actually bought or driven both. I suspect it's a low percentage.
MrGts92 Hi Amigo I have driven and own both, the cayman wins hands down, there is no comparison between the two regarding quality the Porsche is superb the jaguar has a poor build quality using cheap components. Cayman handles like a dream, jaguar audio is laughable , the jaguar weighs as much as a small planet and it is really uncomfortable. The driver position is weird in the jag slightly off centre feeling the inside of the jaguar is a sea of plastic and imitation carbon fibre plastic. The gear selector is square ! It’s really uncomfortable to use on mine the plastic bit on top with D and R fell off, as did my rear view mirror. Alloys had flaws, eventually after 4 sets I got 4 that were not damaged. I could go on, in total in the first year of ownership the jag was back at the dealers for 4 months, where the Cayman has had nothing wrong with it. The `Cayman is in a different league to the jag regarding performance and quality. I have not driven the f type since I bought the Cayman. 2 of my friends went the f type route also and both have had similar experiences, both going back to Porsche. I think many others have done the same as there is a glut of low mileage very cheap f types on the market. With Jaguar also in big financial trouble due to lack of sales expect prices to fall as they continue to discount. One last thing the sat nav in the jaguar basically just guesses where you are.......it’s next to useless.
@@BongWeasle is your opinion on this still the same? I'm literally now making the choice vs an F-type V6 and cayman. However I'm afraid the cayman will be too slow as I'll have to buy the 2.7 non S due to tax regulations in belgium...
i like the new review format its fresh! about the adaptive options, y does it has to be standard? those components r expensive and maybe consumers prefer to have old fashioned single setup
Why does the door handle stay stuck out after you close the door? That seems like an oversight. The car is very good-looking, but the coloured paddle shifters look garish. They need to go.
Recently purchased one 3 weeks ago in white with its of options I can't remember half of them but they said my is a top of the range model but had to have active exhuast
When I came on to UA-cam this video was not there. I left it on and went back for about one hour. When I came back Carbuyer had uploaded this video and it already had 301+ views! So jealous! ;-)
If we're talking cars in this kind of class, I would rather go for a Jaguar sedan. Mainly because besides its good looks, it also has a usable back seat.
Lee-harry C Hi Lee Harry C. There are some nice sporty cars with usable back seats. I like something with decent performance that offers good room for people in the back seat. The Ford Mondeo is really nice from what I've seen.
eternalhalloween1 This is the first time I hear someone cross shopping a Ford Mondeo with an F-Type... I don't quite understand what you mean by sporty, do you mean sporty as in it handles great with good amount of horsepower or sporty as in sporty LOOKING? In either case, check out WRX STI, Ford Focus RS, Golf R, Audi S4, CLA45 AMG, Chevrolet SS and 2015 Mustang GT just to name a few. They're practical and can match (or even beat) the performance of the base F Type V6.
Beef Broth Hi Beef Broth. I just like something that looks nice and handles well. I'll look a the cars you mentioned. I know the Ford Focus is quite popular. Who wouldn't like a nice Mustang GT? If we could turn back time, I would love a 1972 Plymouth Duster.
It's priced bewteen 911 and boxter models. Of course the higher end models do go head to head with the carrera and even the cabriloet models (I apolgise about the spelling)

celt67 One accelerated past me on the street, setting off quite a few car alarms. Madness!
I will have one at some point in my life.
You want mine
I've got one, 2019 V6 Supercharged, and I would highly recommend them. Brilliant fun to drive
Wow! Young Mat Watson!
first honest english review of this car! Bigger magazines speak of it as the ultimate sports car. Thanks Mat!
This car looks & sound absolutely fantastic. Love it!

Saw this car on the road today, man it looked beast, and sounded sick aswell!
Mat Watson + a Jag = The Perfect Car Review.
I wish the air vents on my car would fold away when I'm not using them. Its just so fekkin inconvenient having them just there in front of me doing nothing.
maybe a porsche boxster is sharper to drive, but a boxster is just boring if you compare it to the F type.

David Harris Based on your comment I think you have not driven an F-type convertible yet?
Philip So is a 911.

Is that Matt Watson, yeah?
Hooray for Matt! Great review as always!
soo much better looking then a boxster imo
One of my favourite cars. Looks so nice, just want a coupe version :D
Thanks for the engine package comparison. That's often what I'm looking for and its often not mentioned.
Without seeing the review...gorgeous car!
i love this car, looks great and sounds great, all you want from a sports car
Mat is my favorite car reviewer. ;)
beautiful car.
This piece of art is in my Top 10 cars... Maybe the review is a little short
Mmm nice, love the exhaust growls. I''ll have to keep dreaming.

My new favorite car.

I think you're totally right, the V6 S is the one to go for.
Looked at them the other day and came to the conclusion that I would still go with a Boxster over this. Nice looking car though, you would not have any regrets purchasing one.
What about the big water bottle test? xD
Great review, I've been waiting for you review of this car for a while

Yay, you're back!
Wow Carbuyer did you get a bigger budget from upstairs for a production crew?! Seriously, really good. Money well spent.
What a beauty! I'll go in white with black alloys!!
Both are nice really.
Great review as always.

Aaron Mattheus what did you go for?
BEST INTRO EVER !!
A Boxter comparison; this is Jaguar love the damn things!!!
That Jag sounds epic....

Coupé F-Type R with double clutch would be my ideal. As we won't see a dual clutch from Jag for a while, however, I'll have a C2S and save 15-20K.
Saw one in london and my jaw dropped
I like your boots, what brand are they?
Why does the door handle stay stuck out after you close the door? That seems like an oversight. The car is very good-looking, but the coloured paddle shifters look garish. They need to go.
Best job ever Matt!
I have this car in orange it's amazing
How do these handles work? Great car, one of my dreams I'm not worth to fulfill.
Nice review!
Another sexy beast review! Oh, and the car seems ok.

jst awesome piece of art ...stunning ...exhaust my god it sounds awesome .....damm good car ...go fr V8S ...dnt think abt any
Gorgeous car, just a shame they want to rip buyers off by charging for things that should be standard. Charging you for an exhaust sound ?.
Engine sounds good
I’m pretty sure they don’t have 2013 model
New director?
which one do you think is better? this one or the carrera cab?
this one cause it has more character and it is less expensive
Buchhalter007 I would disagree. The 911 has so much soul

So you pay extra for a sports exhaust + chassis control + comfort package. SO LIKE EVERY OTHER FUCKING SPORTS CAR.
