Homemade Dog Food Recipe: (This makes about 8 quarts of food)
- 6 pounds 90% lean ground beef
-10oz beef liver
- 15 oz can pumpkin puree
-1T of olive oil
-1T of fish oil
- 2 sweet potatoes washed and chopped in large chunks
- 1 and 1/2 Cup brown rice, rinsed and drained
-12oz frozen carrots
-12oz frozen cauliflower
- 12oz frozen broccoli
- 12oz frozen squash
- 2 Cups of dog bone broth
-2 eggs
-Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to pot. Then add carrots, squash, broccoli, cauliflower, brown rice, sweet potatoes, beef liver, and ground beef.
- Add lid to instant pot and pressure cook for 35 minutes on high. Do a manual release. Use masher gadget to get everything mashed and mix well with a wooden spoon!
- Add in pumpkin puree, salmon oil and crack two eggs. The remaining steam in the pot will cook the eggs. Give everything a good mix.
- When food is cool you can mix in a dog calcium and multivitamin of choice!
*Serve to dogs warm so please allow time for it to cool before serving it to your pup! This recipe will last 3-4 days in the fridge. I freeze extra food and take out of freezer to thaw the night before as needed. My dogs eat this recipe cold but feel free to heat it up if needed.
Serving size guide for a FULL day of eating. Break into 2 servings if your dog eats twice a day : ( This is just a guide! Please consult with your dog's vet to make sure they are getting the perfect serving size)
3-5 pounds: 1/4cup- 1/3cup
5-10 pounds: 1/3 cup- 1/2 cup
10-20 pounds: 1/2 cup- 3/4 cup
20-30 pounds: 3/4 cup- 1 cup
40-50 pounds: 1 1/2 cups- 2 cups
50-60 pounds: 2 cups- 2 1/4 cups
60-70 pounds: 2 1/4 cups- 2 1/2 cups
70-80 pounds: 2 1/2 cups- 2 3/4 cups
80-100 pound: 2 3/4 cups- 3 1/4 cups

I got my dog off kibble 2 years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. I alternate between raw and gently cooked and my only regret is I didn’t switch sooner. No shame to anyone who still feeds kibble though, feed what works for YOUR dog!

I have the cutest picture of my dogs watching you cook on TV.. Lol
I make my own gals food also. My vet told me to use a website Balance IT or Just food for dogs so everything is calculated correctly and there is no chance of too much or too little of something. I have to add powdered vitamins and nutrients and have specific measurements of each food going into the pot. I also cook mine over the stove as to not overheat all the nutrients out of the food. Just a FYI according to my vet is all... not shaming or anything!! Please do not think I am! :) So many different opinions even when it comes to the vets! So confusing!

Just found you on UA-cam love ❤ the recipes. My question to you is do you freeze your containers and how long does a batch of food last. I have 2 boxers and they get 2 cups twice a day so 8 cups pre day.

Thanks for watching!! Are you using a lean protein?? If the protein has a lot of fat it can upset your dog’s digestive system causing the slime on the poop. I try to get the protein as lean as possible to prevent excess fat.

I’m paying abt $120/month & he’s a lil 15lb Shih Tzu. I could make this way cheaper on my own & be able to customize it even more than I’m able to now. A lot more.

Hello 💖 Yes you can! I would cook it on low for 6 hours or high for 4 hours with stirring it frequently so everything cooks evenly.
