Why is recognizing that you don't suddenly turn attractive when you hit 18 but not a few days before something creepy? The age of consent is 16 in a lot of states for a reason. The girls in my class usually weren't into guys their age and went for sometimes 20+ guys but nobody batted an eye. I don't think we should pathologize something that was quite common in my grandparents generation unless you are willing to call some of our fathers and grandfather p*dos because of that. P*dophilia is the attraction to minors that haven't yet reached sexual maturity. It has a very clear definition and it is weird especially as a european to see some cases in the US where a guy is going to jail because of some outdated Romeo and Juliet law because he is more than five years older than his 17 yo gf. That is just crazy.

That's true, but most kids will do it anyway. The answer is way simpler than that, kids just shouldn't have access to that much Internet.

But by the time they're teenagers, I don't think there's really much they can do with that since they will need to use it for school by then. Of course they could still monitor their activity though.

True, but kids can be so lonely, especially if they have abusive parents or siblings or live in other types of social isolation or opprobrium that they can give in to their feelings easily and be readily manipulated by people of ill intent. Including their own friends and neighbors, really. Kids by their nature don't have the ability to logically suss out situations, especially facing people with real or perceived power or attractiveness of any sort. They're just not built to stave off the white panel van with "Free candy" spray painted on the side.
Charlie is brutally honest most of the time; that's the reason I love his videos.

The way Alex Rosen handled the EDP situation was objectively terrible but he’s grown into a legit pred catcher with over 200 arrests and 100 convictions, with one predator recently getting sentenced to over 100 years in jail as a result of Alex’s investigation.
Also addressing the stuff he’s said about 17 year olds - when Alex confronts preds, his strategy is to get the preds to open up and confess by making them think he’s on their side. This includes pretending to agree with their awful views and also making stuff up so he owns off as relatable/sympathetic to the child predators.
While this is an unconventional approach, Alex is able to use it to consistently get predators to confess to various crimes on video which is then used by law enforcement.

I feel like that's a gross oversimplification of the truth. The World only gets bleaker when you trick yourself into believing you can't change it. Moon Channel, for example, made an expose on "Korean Gacha Drama and Gender War," with his actual takes on Korean Culture actually encourages solidarity, since most of the problems are socioeconomic, rather than cultural. I will do all I can to prevent chaebols/megacorporations from denying me communication from my fellow man to stand up to their power.
Also, I find relief that people find and expose abusers and predators, demonstrating that Humanity retains its self-selection power.

Knowledge is the reason we have solved most problems we used to have in the past, but of course, we solve one problem and the solution comes with another unforseen consequence that we also have to solve. Its a never ending game of whack-a-mole.
I guess this natural system is best for us. Life would be pretty boring if we never had anything to complain about and a solution to work towards. Life sure is beautifully frustrating :)

Predators make me sick to my stomach. I’m in a few Discord servers where a good percentage of the members are more than young enough to be my (38) own children. I love these children and because I love them I am incredibly transparent about who I am, what I do, and that boundaries will never be crossed. We can never really be friends as they’ll always be my juniors, but it is comforting for them to have a handful of good adults in the group. I’ve had to end situations and chase off a number of inappropriate adults.

I tend to suspect demanding men act 'disgusted' at the idea of an attractive girl being any number of minutes shy of 18 years old.
