the thing is tho, that mostly applies to things being said on the internet. them bringing it into the real world now actually opens them up to real consequences. and tbh I am concerned for these kids. sure, the whole "they're just kids" argument is stupid in some ways, but on the other hand they really are just kids. they might know better, but they don't have the mental capacity to actually reflect on their actions and act accordingly. and one of these days there will be somebody who's not as nice and won't care that they're literal children and they're gonna get their shit rocked, perhaps for the last time. really makes you scared of the future of society

One of the difficult things about these situations is that I see a lot of comments saying there should be an age limit before students could get a phone or have social media, I pretty much agree. But I have a little sister, far younger than me, she's in middle school right now, my mom won't allow her to have a cellphone until high school. But it's becoming more and more difficult to maintain that, because it seems like the school systems themselves are encouraging students getting phones at a young age. For example, she couldn't enter the middle school ASB unless she had a cellphone. She couldn't go on field trips unless she has access to a cellphone. It's really stupid, I hope we as a society will slowly come to realize the consequences, and make smarter more careful decisions

Edit: I want to add a little story about my life, my family never really had a family computer nor did any one in my family, we did however have that large tablet computer that ran on windows, I'm not what version it was, but for those who know, it was that windows boot up that had all 4 colors fly into the middle and create the windows logo. Either way, we didn't use it much since it was very finicky and didn't perform well. Not to mention I didn't know many websites other than cool math games or the apps that came with windows itself. Also most of the time I would forgot we would even have one. So, I didn't care at all to roam on the computer, I was too busy playing Super Mario Bros. Wii and Crash Twinsanity during my childhood.

The more awareness that is spread about this awful content -like this, HOPEFULLY, IF THESE KIND OF STREAMS AND VIDEOS ARE BANNED AND NOT BEING VIEWED ..we could maybe make a difference to the very young kids that are growing up on the internet. It's really unfortunate, and so sad. And the kids that are actually wealthy from fucking with the public need to be legally delt with. I don't know Jack doughtery , but I have heard of him through media and news ..but I don't understand how this kid is not being ripped apart by his state police ??!! There are many people responsible besides the kid: the parents - the police- the viewers-
Lately I have been seriously worried for the generation growing up. I think we have 10 maybe even more STATE EMERGENCY , because of the fentanyl crisis.
Internet addiction is should be taken seriously. The internet laws should be taken more seriously. There is an entire ecosystem right in ur hand. How do the kids not have any FEDERAL protection or guidance for these toxic algorithms. Online bullying was brought up 10 years ago, and it's still impossible to have any 'real life' justice

There was the case of a "Prankster" at a shopping mall in Virginia harassing a shopper. The shopper told the prankster to leave him alone. The shopper finally pulled out a gun and shot the prankster. Video showing the shopper shoot the prankster was shown to the jury. The jury did not take a great deal of time in coming back with a resounding "Not Guilty" for the shopper who shot the young man. Did I mention the jury saw the video of the shooting. The problem is if anyone ever knocks one of these kiddies out, it will be on camera and the adult will be the one arrested. The kid knows this. They know they are safe from any consequence. That’s why they’re protective of the phone. The only time they showed any fear is when she got close to getting the phone. If you could manage to get the phone, you could just break it or steal it and walk away. They would have nothing on you at that point. And again, the kids know this.

He thought he was clowning us so hard, so I snatched his chain off his neck and started walking away. Dude went from such an arrogant troll to threatening to call his parents and started asking for help from the people around us. He literally ran over to the basketball courts and screamed that he needed help, and I mean screamed like a child. Anyway we kept his chain and I'm sure he had to explain to his parents what happened and he probably got in trouble and regretted ever doing what he did. The chain is now a ring lol.

And no matter how bad the actions of your kids are... if you raise your voice it can be considered problematic and fall into child abuse.
Basically the system in places like here wants to have hands off parenting and wants to create kids that feel like they can act out without any consequences. It's very sad and scary at the same time.

One time my manager was able to confiscate one of their skateboards when they came in (cause at this point they are trespassing and this is their only quick escape), and this kid threw a legit tantrum and hopped over her desk to grab it back from her. As a parent, there is something that you can do. Repeatedly your kids from a young age the difference between right and wrong. And teach them to treat others as they would like to be treated.
My 6 year old was not nice to the school bus driver a few weeks back. I walked my kid 4 miles to school the next few days and told him next time he does anything on the school bus, he is going to be walking for the rest of the school year. Actions have consequences.
