*I don't think Japan is ready...* Aside from the obvious privacy issues (especially with Japan), I don't feel like the tech is quite there yet~
But what do YOU think?
JUST ANNOUNCED UK AND AMSTERDAM Hangout and Shamisen Performace through the newsletter!
releasing this video from Seattle airport by the way - on our way back from a job in Alaska~ Big gratitude~
Amsterdam hangout?!? After reading this I subscribed to the newsletter, will I still get another mail with info about this? I'd love to join if I'm available that day!
I don't know if anywhere is quite ready for it, let alone Japan. Just from the fact alone that you can RECORD what you're seeing while wearing it. Imagine some creep using this, walking around nonchalant. No one knows if they're being recorded, nor can they tell necessarily what the person is looking it. Just too many 🚩uses.
im just surprised they let you show the first person point of view for some reason. lol
Looks sick! I love it! Amazing, amazing product! 🎉🎉🎉
The guys who asked to try it on at the end were really wholesome.
He was so excited and adorable.
I was going to say, in London you’d just get robbed or jumped haha
@@slothsarecoolYes mainly if you use it in Knightsbridge 😂
When the 'travel mode' went on I had a reflexive swell of panic. The idea of being on a train and having absolutely no idea what's going on around me is terrifying.
Terrifying… Is exactly how I would describe the feeling of that experience.
It just felt wrong lol
well the point of travel mode is for when you're on the plane or long bus journeys lol
I can definitely see what Apple are trying to do with the Vision Pro. However, the immersive nature of it suggests that it was modelled on 90s VR headsets of the past. It's awesome for a game or for a controlled environment, but without fences, spatial awareness or peripheral vision, it feels like an accident waiting to happen.
IMHO, it'd be better were it more like a heads-up display (HUD) in certain Nissan cars or a plane.
Watching each person's reaction was so much fun (my favorite is the middle age lady describing it as "a big phone!") It's got lots of potentials to make your life better but definitely I wouldn't walk alone outside with that!😆
The people I got to meet that day were definitely the best part! So many fun reactions~
Thanks again Yuka
Why do I feel a secondhand embarrassment feeling watching u do that in public HAHA love seeing the reactions of the people
met some great people that day~
that's the least embarrassing thing you could be doing in Japan haha
This is so fascinating but I'm even paranoid someone's in my room with me when I have my VR headset. I can't imagine actually being around people.
which headset do you have?
@@TokyoLens I have an Oculus Quest 2. My fear may come from the fact that my husband thinks it's funny to quietly sneak in the room and watch for a good 10 minutes before making a very loud noise and giving me a heart attack! 🤣
I had to look up "disorientating" because I pronounce it "disorient" and thought I was pronouncing it wrong. I found that "disorientate" and "disorient" mean the exact same thing. Disorientate is used more in England, and disorient is used in the US. English--the language that complicates itself for no reason and causes inflammable or flammable anger and frustration. Great video Norm, thank you!
I love how your videos always have so much positive energy
Believe it or not, I am not naturally a positive person, so making vids gives me a chance to focus more and more on positivity and trying to get closer to the path I want to be on!!
so thank you!!
@@TokyoLensYour videos are definitely making my day better each time. Thank you 😁.
Walking around with it watching people giving you looks is hilarious 😂 MY SELF CONSCIOUS self could never lol
honestly... youd be amazed at how much side-eye you miss when you dont have peripheral vision lol - kinda makes it easier~
Norm knocking it out of the park again. One of the best uses of the Apple Vision Pro I have seen. Getting people’s reaction to it was so much fun to watch.
It was interesting to see the people in the background looking at you and I love how you let others try it out. Well, that your friend was OK with them using it for a little bit. A fun upload! Sending much positivity from a rainy day in Minnesota🙂
Thanks so much 😊
I’m legitimately watching this with the pink sweater on!
niiiiice!! hey sweater buddy!
Congrats to you! Most of the influencers on YTube keep their VisionPro almost glued to the palms of their hands, like their life depend on it.
You decided to share the experience with some locals, which I found quite remarkable. You sure made their day 👍👏👏👏
and... made a few friends along the way!
grateful to Noah for bringing it out!
Really struggling to find something to watch but overjoyed to find a new upload from Norm. Thanks again - keep up the great work.
Very fun video with the Apple Vision Pro! I love the variety of content that you cover in your videos, Norm. Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much~
Always appreciate the content bro! I'll visit one day
cheers!
THe young guys at the end were so adorable and seeing there excitement was so sweet. I agree with your statement Japan is and isn't ready for that. Also, I am trying to imagine it in Downtown Seattle where it can get steep and crowded.
Such a fun video! Love the people's reactions, especially the last one😂
those last guys were wild! loved it~
Awesome video as always Norm. Norm you always come up with the most interesting things to do in the middle of Tokyo.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was such a fun video! I love all the happy, excited people giving this a try. The two young guys in Shibuya were my favourites. So adorably enthusiastic ❤
I love all the interactions in this vid!! I can't say I care much about the vision pro myself, but seeing the excitement from other people made it interesting in a way I could enjoy🤩
Also, a round of applause for Noah, thank you for keeping Norm from being hit by a car lol
Great Video, congrats on 1 Million subs.
THAT WAS REALLY FUN! thanks Norm!
one of my fav videos from you man !!
Glad you enjoyed it that much! (^_^)
This is a fun video all the reactions were so fun
This is wild🙈🔥🔥🔥
Enjoyed so much watching people’s reactions!! Now I’m curious trying it. Btw, you look perfect with the vision pro😎✨ thanks for putting yourself danger in the crowd to entertain us😂 lol
Thank you Norm for introducing the New gear! Yes, it looks dangerous to wear it alone, but watching your video was fun!!👍😆😆☺️
grateful for Noah san!!
What an interesting video on the Vision pro - so far out of the usual "review" space. I really enjoyed watching this!
it was very fun to see the japanese people try the vision pro and there reactions when they do
I just got back from a few months in Yokohama. Anytime I watch a video where you’re walking through a place I went to countless times (Akihabara) is surreal
glad I can bring you back with me!
Here we go!!! What an experience!!
so much fun, man!!
Thanks for coming by eh!
Norm, this is HILARIUS! I loved this! I was either laughing of smiling the entire video. Well done Sir, well done!
This is too fun! ❤ (Kinda dangerous in crowds...) the two last guys were really wholesome!
this looks like a fun video. your very creative in all your ideas! congrats on 1m!!
I agree on the congrats on the 1million but this video has been done months ago. I guess not in Japan though.
3:53 is such an iconic image, in a maid cafe while wearing essentially a VR headset - put it in the louvre
I gotta try this at some point, the reactions are amazing
You should!
This would be highly useful for someone learning Japanese to be able to translate all the signs in real time in Japanese. You could also use it to translate what people are saying in real time. (Someone could develop a 'predictive text' on responses back to what people say, like a multiple choice thing, and you pick one from the list with your hands... and then it could tell you how to reply in the language.) This could help you to learn and get used to speaking to people in another language, even if you look like someone out of Serial Experiments Lain when you are doing it 😅
Really interesting seeing all the reactions of people around you. I'm really curious about what the less tech interested people might've thought since I'm sure not everyone would recognize the vision pro for what it was, maybe some people just thought "here's some weirdo with ski-goggles on in the middle of town grasping at the air" :)
I love the fact people are curious and willing to try then just judge. That said, I still don't want them haha
I just laughed the entire time. ^_^ Thanks for risking your life for us Norm! ;-) You're the best!
Glad you enjoyed it!
loved this video haha I always crack up when i see ppl wearing the vision pro at the airport
I'm gonna wait until these things can just be built into my regular glasses. lol
I love all the reactions to it. That guy in Shibuya was so hyped to try it. :)
A great device in a crowded metro.
I had no idea the Vision Pro wasn't available in Japan. Watching all the different reactions of people trying the headset on was really fun to watch, especially the guy at the end! He was just having the time of his life trying it out!
those guys at the end had an absolute blast!
That mode when you were on the subway would be dangerous but also fantastic. Just the leave the hectic world for a little while would be heaven.🏖😊
This is so entertaining, Norm!
Love your content! Greetings from Costa Rica!
Thank you!
awesome video never smiled that much in weeks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks 😊
One million subscribers! Congrats Norm!
Thanks!!
I don't know about Japan being ready, but I am definitely not ready for one of those lol. That is wild!
I dont think I was either haha
It’s awesome you let people actually try your Vision Pro to experience
Oh, my sleep schedule finally aligned with the ability to watch these vids as soon as they come out. Awesome
yay!! Great to always have you here~
Thanks for trying it out in real world applications! Maybe the 2nd gen would be real world ready where you can actually walk around with this, not just for home or office use.
So fun to see everyone's reactions when they tried it
I love watching your videos
Thank you~
Wonder when Apple Japan will finally launch it here! Curious to try it out, but seems like it still needs a must have app… at least Japan is “mostly” safe enough to wear out in public for this video! It was fun to see the maids try it on on the train, and at Shibuya! Fun video Norm!
its cool he let people try it on
“I really don’t need this” that said it all
LOL
multi-layered sentiment lol
its so hard to not notice norm with that bright pink
Great video norm. I think you blew your Dailey food budget in that arcade😂😂.
Yes I did 😂
The tech envy is real. Those expressions! lol 6:59
Slept late this morning but woke up in time to see this!!!
My big question is, Is it heavy? My issue with VR type headsets is that they always feel so heavy after a while.
its VERY heavy
way heavier than it should be lol
Well that was surprisingly fun! And ya, walking around in busy parts of Tokyo with less than 100% of your vision, that's a dangerous proposition.
I think i recognize the video you watched in travel mode. That guy at the end was great. That does seem incredibly dangerous in crowds
Edit: I went and checked and I was right. I love that Tokyo walking tour.
it looks so futuristic
I personally feel like you already get stares for simply being a foreigner so what difference does it make if you wear some weird glasses 😭 It’s really funny though to see you do the gestures in the air, I would probably feel awkward doing it and being looked at, so props to you 😂👏🏻 Loved seeing other people try them too, they all were amazed by them!
with the way tokyo is now, major areas like Akihabara... it was actually hard to find a Japanese person lol
I have a quest 3 and it's pretty nice. I imagine this VR headset is probably pretty amazing
This thing is just so weird. Add on its expensive price, and it's a deal breaker.
Always love the vids.
haha yeah definitely an odd one! Thank you!
Looks fun to use when in one spot, but moving around and walking around looks very dangerous !!! Love and enjoy your videos. I hope to get to visit Japan one day.
risks were taken lol
Yea my social anxiety is about to hit billboard top 100
😂
My Quest 2 is great but nothing like mixed reality, I would love it. I’m thinking of getting one but would have to save for months ,lol. Totally worth it though ❤
Thanks Norm, that was fun
1:23 "this does not feel safe"
*Car almost backs into norm in the crosswalk* 😂
hahaha, it looks so dorky, my anxiety would never let me use this in public. could be great at home though. good video!
Having a map up at all times just sold me on this 🤣
comforting lol
Your phone can do that already though lol
Part 2 please! 🙏
When you started the NordVPN promo, it almost sounded like you said "NormVPN". 🤣
I just wish we could have seen what they were doing, maybe split the screen in two to show the third and first person?
Morning Norm!
That looks equally entertaining and practical yet disorienting and hazardous.
I can only imagine the sidewalk full of people with semi-obstructed vision pinching randomly all over the place.
oh god... that would be terrifying haha
I don't even feel safe using headphones in public. I could see enjoying the Vision Pro at home though😊
great video,
That is so weird. Amazing but weird. When I was a kid we could never have imagined our future now with Everyone looking down at phones in their hands and groups of friends together in a room, not talking to each other and all online instead. What will this future look like if everyone has these and reaching out to nothing... Weird as hell. Not for me at all personally but this video was astounding ❤
One day when it's more compact and easier to wear, walking around with it will be much better. Excited for this tech to advance. Using it to work and enjoy entertainment is fantastic and the immersive environments really help with concentration, anxiety and a number of other mental things. Loved that you let the Apple employees try it too.
I hadn't looked into it in depth before, but this made it interesting. Now, how many years before it is shrunk enough, both in size and cost, for the masses to seriously consider something in this category?
Norm just looks like hes squishing people that look smaller in the distance with his fingers lol
Hi norm I love your videos
Thanks so much~
I need this for at home with noise cancelling headphones. Kids can be fighting, Mother in law screaming down her most basic mobile phone to her friend and the partner having a grump. I can just zone out !!!
Anyone know which brand of denim jacket the guy at 8:41 is wearing?
I would actually be scared if Cyborg Norm was approaching me on the street
Putting aside the unwieldiness - the price and even more the danger always had me thinking that this will not work.
It was cool seeing how excited the Apple Store employees were
haha was neat~
Again we are closer to a cyperpunk world, so I think it would awesome if the could field the outside perception problem like making the window smaller.
Hey Norm how you doing? Finally off for a video 😂😊
yay! Doing great~ How are you?
@@TokyoLens all good, my cherry blossom has finally bloomed & been looking for Japanese Garden ideas for my house got a few ideas just need to figure out plants 😂.
Nice looking Cyberpunk Tech. But what I learned from your comments is that it needs to have wider visual view area (left and right areas). I think when it has real sized map what did not cover your view when walking would make it killer app with wider visual area.
I actually have one and it is freaking awesome and I think Japan is ready for it. They might even like the google glasses with voice commands
Question. Is there any application that would make it somehow a useful piece of tech to wear while walking in the street? For example if they could do the equivalent of the Live view feature of Google Maps, but withing the whole experience (it put a blue arrow to point to the direction to take in augmented reality) and not having to interact with virtual scree, it would be really cool.
Lens goes outside the box, I'd love to try that. I live in the English Countryside, the would be no distance reference through the goggles.
Japan is literally the only place I'd consider letting someone physically possess my property with the expectation of getting it back.
Haven’t seen the video yet but this will **very likely** make me more excited about the AVP and future iterations. I wish I could demo it here in the Netherlands lol
Edit: Finally seen it and couldn't remove the smile on my face from seeing all the reactions from these people and seeing you experience it. It looks so much fun!
That’s a different video
I Injoyed all the peoples reaction
