Grevious was a technologically advanced cyborg considering he was only a set of lungs, a pair of eyes, and just his brain which really was an inspiration for the very mechanical suit that was Darth Vader, and Palpatine no doubt want to keep his old terror weapon to use against his enemies.
I think the reason why Sidious kept Grievous’s body locked away on Utapou was so he could use it as a reference for cybernetic research and where imperials later on used his body as the brain child for the dark trooper droid project, and where the empire is using the discarded clone troopers for.
Kenobi had problems with finishing anybody off for good. Grievous, Maul, and Anakin, just to name a few of the bigger names.
Oh, I don't know, could it be that Sidious had a master who amazingly figured out how to resurrect himself and others from death? A lot of people assume that Sidious didn't learn the secret. Considering his obsession with ancient knowledge, his own resurrection and immortality, I think it's foolish to assume he didn't figure it out. He did have all Plagues' notes and experiments, and Plagues trusted him too much.

General grievous wielding 4 cortosis blades instead of lightsabers would be a living nightmare even to obi wan
It's possible the Bane Heart crystal itself is what caused the destruction of the NK Necrosis and it's Magnaguards as if it's like any other kyber crystal it would be sentient, and a Sith artifact of that power being wasted on a Droid no matter how capable would of infuriated the crystal against it's wielder.

If I remember some crystals wouldn't work on normal people and some Darkside and lightside crystals had the ability to amplify their wielders abilities so I wouldn't doubt that a powerful crystal such as banes heart would definitely have a entitled personality because of its creator and wouldn't want just any user let alone a non-force wielding cyborg and would most likely either deteriorate the droids through Darkside energy and possibly cause for alot of malfunctioning in NK necrosis such as slower to ignite or not ignite at all, due to negative force energy being so close to him will eventually cause deterioration like it does with all things both living and environmental, and because bane was a freaking god and was so skilled he could literally block raindrops in a storm with his lightsaber and by the time the storms ended bane would be completely dry, personally I wouldn't want a droid or anyone unfit to wield such a crystal and would definitely make it highly susceptible to cause faster deterioration of its wielders than a normal Darkside crystal and would demand a powerful user to avoid these fail safes and to have a droid try and cheat these will indeed anger the crystal and cause some type of negative reaction to it's users or corrupt the cybernetics and mechanics of said droid
@@dyslo1877 you got what I was saying 100% if NK was supposed to be an improvement over Grevious than it's full droid brain should of augmented Grevious' body, a body that was during the Clone Wars able to deflect blasters with it's cybernetic modifications. The fact that somehow Necrosis was unable to means some outside force was impeding his ability to use the saber staff like the crystal itself, what they should of done is reclaimed Grevious' old light sabers, or used a synthetic red crystal in the staff, I mean there was a reason Grevious never opted to switch to using the Bane Heart crystal despite the fact he relished killing Jedi, and a Sith artifact would of aided him immeasurably in that pursuit.
@@chadflanaganCFC I personally feel like if the separatist weren't so cheap they could have actually made a unstoppable monster with grevious or NK is plain and simple cortosis yea it's rare in the universe but I mean there's enough that people are making swords and armor from it and putting a exorbitant price on the metal but if your trying your best to create a Jedi killer I'd say best bet over banes heart would be a beskar or cortosis plated grevious that wields both lightsabers and cortosis blades, I say both because lightsabers can cut through almost anything which can help with getting through a metal door etc. And cortosis for the fight itself due to being able to short out lightsabers on impact, all these along with the cybernetic enhancements that give grevious the ability to use a different fighting form for each arm would be the closest thing to giving Anakin and obi wan a run for their money if say the only way to defend is force pushing tf out of him and getting tf outta there and just nuke the area he's in but that won't happen because it's not the Jedi way but I mean shoot Yoda could defeat him and maybe mace windy but Anakin and obi wan would definitely get creamed I mean look at episode 3 how obi wan and Anakin were almost killed by dooku, being that grevious was trained by dooku and has his cybernetic enhancements along with the cortosis blades and armor oooofff basically would be a rated R version of episode 3 because those blades don't cauterize when they cut through bodies...jus saying lol 😂
@@dyslo1877 that's the thing though, Palpatine wanted a perfect Jedi killer with Grevious, but he wanted to strike a balance as for his plan it was always to have Anakin kill Grevious and be seen a hero if he plated him with Beskar and Cortosis weaponry/armor there's a very good chance he'd of killed Anakin, as without those modifications Palpatine still did everything he could to keep the droid general away from Anakin during the war so he always had the means to take out the Jedi chosen one. And if this Cortosis using Grevious survived the newly crowned Darth Vader's attack Palpatine would made a very dangerous enemy who'd taken his best tool off the board simultaneously.
Just wait, Lucasfilm will find a way to bring Grievous back to the small screen somehow, just like with every other "dead" character.
Given that nearly all of Greivous's organic parts had been replaced, with only his brain, eyes, heart, and lungs remaining, repairing his body and turning it into a droid would be completely plausible.

I miss Galaxies. It really made me feel like I was part of the Star Wars universe.
Fun fact, in the MMO “Star Wars Galaxies” this was a boss-event on Kashyyk (you were essentially one of these bounty hunters for this mission) where you’d be rewarded with the Banes Heart Crystal (flame-like effect for Jedi Light Sabers) as well as Grievous’ starship. I didn’t know at the time how linked these items were and thought they were just cool rewards.
The starship was a universal reward and, if I remember correctly, could be used at any level. This meant it was good for completionists who switched factions to work on the different starship paths while retaining the normally-barred higher end components since the restrictions only prevented you from adding them to a ship at lower levels, not from utilizing them if they’re already in your ship.
Another fun fact, though off topic, but in SWG there was one instance where Palpatine appeared as a hologram where his underwear was still solid. He looked like a grandpa in boxers and a bath robe. 🤣
I remember fighting NK on Kashyyyk. If you managed to kill him you would get Bane's heart and the deed to his ship. Those were good times

It’s totally in line with Sidious. He kept Luke’s hand, a bunch of dead Jedi corpses, all kinds of necrotic flesh for experiments.
NGL it makes sense grievous and the guards got their asses kicked. They are specifically trained for lightsaber combat but now that the empire has taken over there's usually not Alot of saber fighting anymore. It's usually a blaster vs a saber if anything. Which grievous was never good at taking on blasters with a lightsaber even 4. Of course he had the ability to defend himself against blasters for the most part. But we never really see grievous fighting clones except once or twice. And usually it's with an ambush or non direct combat

I loved me some Star Wars Galaxies back in the day. Some of the lore however, (such as this) was definitely pretty weak and contrived.
For some unknown reason Palpatine randomly decided he needed a full-droid replica of the long dead General Grievous to be built, and for it to be constructed using the mechanical remains of Grievous no less! This new Not-Grievous then completely inexplicably ends up with a lightsaber containing the ancient lightsaber crystal Darth Bane presented to his apprentice 1000 years earlier. What a random, nonsensical, and unnecessary piece of lore.
The simple truth behind them whipping up this piece of lore was because they wanted a "Grievous" boss in the game and had to come up with something to explain it. This was part of Rage of the Wookies expansion after all, which released somewhere in the close vicinity of ROTS. Needed to cash in on the new baddie even if it didn't make a lick sense. As for his improbable historic Dark Side artifact of a crystal? Well he had to drop some sort of worthy loot.
I even grew to dislike that crystal too because it didn't take long for most every Jedi player was using it. The variety of lightsaber colors vanished.
Ironically that crystal went from being a rare and precious historical artifact in the lore, to literally every-freaking-where in the game.

I think it would be really cool if you did a video on all the different types and ranks of battle droids, this video made me think of it. I think it would also be cool for different types of storm troopers, clones, first order, rebels etc.

No. This is cheap. Darth Maul surviving being cut in half and falling down a shaft is BS. Palpatine somehow returning us a slap in the face. Leia surviving being in space is stupid. Now they are bring grievous back…At this point Disney may as well retcon phantom menace and kill obi-wan.

Also, Maul being brought back was one of the best things that happened to Star Wars.

Its all from the Star Wars Galaxies MMO Expansion about the Wookies. It's the lore around a dungeon in the the expansion where the last boss is necrosis and he drops the sith crystal when defeated.
