We have a 2022 Spyder RTL chrome model & love it to bits! If you want to know when to change gears if its in eco mode it will give you a indication on the dash, but otherwise you just get used to the engine noise! Sounds like you enjoy yourself which is good to hear, we always have a smile on our faces when we ride & get lots of comments from folks were ever we go .Seems like there is a few people got Spyders in the uk, ever thou the supply is limited & there are not too many dealerships . Pretty much the same story here in Canada, as most units go to the US market! Ride safe , regards Stephen Alberta Canada.
Nice intro video. F3S is probably the best overall trike on the market. I ran a tuned Ryker for 3 years and now run a tuned F3S. I've previously owned 1,000cc sports bikes. I regard my F3S as the best bike/trike out there for me. I would add I have dodgy legs from a car crash. I can walk. Once you become more settled you'll start to push it in the corners. The F3S is the best handling trike out there. Mines doing the Hill Run at Prescott Bike Fest in June. Good luck with your travels.
The setting is very similar to where I bought my F3-S in Portimao, Algarve. The F3-S is the sporty Spyder. Lots lighter than the full-dress ones. The F3-S makes a great tourer. Mine is a 2019, so it has a cheaper dash. No big deal. The brakes are incredible. I did a test stop at 50 KPH in between Lagos and Sagres in Portugal and almost launched myself over the handlebars. They are not safer than normal bikes in that in a collision, you can't get thrown clear. Very difficult to part company with an F3-S. I have a rider backrest and Shad panniers. I slot a 63-litre Ventura Bike-Pack over the backrest. They are not fragile. Fantastic inline triple 1330cc engines. Very reliable, and burn no oil. The brake is in the right place for me. The ferry is bigger than the one that goes from Portugal to Spain. Nick
Just watched this again. Great video. Someone in Ohio did 80,000 miles on one with one minor problem. A minor electrical issue due to the salt on the roads corroding a wire. Nick
My son had a Spyder RT (the big one!). He had lost a leg in a motorcycle accident. The shop adapted his brake as well. It was a few years ago when they used the 900cc Rotax V-Twin engine. He had it for about 6 months and loved it. He got rid of it in the end because , in his words, "Its that fast I'm gonna killl myself on it"! I had a couple of goes on it, and it was easy to get used to. Now I'm older, and after 40+ years of 2 wheels the old bones are complaining so I'm saving up to get myself a Spyder!!
Wow he got straight back to it, sorry to hear about his accident 😞- did he downsize after the RT? They definitely have the same kind of ‘I could be a real tw@t here’ feeling as on two wheels, so it’s a really great option - I’m no longer worried about what I’ll do in my old age 😅
Hi Liz, just subbed your channel. I got my license last year and really enjoy watching your channel. You deserve alot more subs, your very easy and pleasent to listen to. Keep it up :)
Hi Liz, this is my first visit to your channel and I am liking it so I subscribed. I don't see many of these bikes in the UK, so it's nice to see your videos and trips out. Looking forward to the next one, thanks. 😎
I know someone who owns one, he has sticker eyeballs on the front. I always think “as long as you’re happy mate”🤦🏻♂️. Very niche, but I can see how they represent the best option of open air freedom for some.
Today I’m picking up my new F3s 2023 and it’s the same colour (Shrek style)😂 I’m trade my Ryker 900 rally to this beast. I’m super exited even if It’s raining all day long.
Hi Liz, would love to see you ride the larger touring version Can am RT LTD. Did you find the F3 scary to ride taking into account the different road surfaces. Did you have to lean your body towards the inside of corners? I am thinking of buying the RT Ltd in which you sit higher up would love to hear your views. Thanks for the entertaining videos.
The F3 looks scary but riding it was totally fine, you lean into the corner and the bike leans away like a car - which is weird coming from a 2 wheel bike that leans into corners.
Having recently bought a RT Ltd 5 weeks ago I can say that you very quickly get used to the handling. I didn’t come from two wheels so perhaps I wouldn’t have the ingrained riding style. I love my RT and wish I had made the purchase so much earlier.
You can drive Spyder with a car license? Here in Canada you need a bike license and different bike course if you are beginner. They are gaining popularity over here.
Apparently you can! Which makes a lot of sense to me since half of a motorcycle test in the uk is being able to control two wheels which you don’t really need for this, and the car tests are pretty extensive. What are the test standards in Canada like for bikes and cars?
@@R1_Liz Honestly it has been 40 years since I had any driving test. My bike test was quite easy then. Pylons, around parking lot with hand signals using my Honda XL125. Month later bought a Kawasaki KZ 1000. Car test was written on signs and road test. I think bike is all different now, car test still similar thinking, about my daughter test.
Québec requires a car license + a 7hr course -OR- a motorcycle license. Most non-biker go for the 7hr course. Plate costs much less too as they are deemed safer. Not sure on the rest of Canada.
4:19 Hey I'm getting a can am spyder f3s soon you said something about Base layer for winter is it heated gear that you are Wearing or nun heated gear and how cold was it when you were riding
I have heated gear but on this ride I wasn’t using it. The base layer I mention is the Zerofit heat rub ultimate top - it’s really effective, keeps me very cosy
So what if someone who wants to ride has a disability should they not be allowed access to something like this because some pretend bikers think its wrong?
@Sharpey76. I don't think it's unreasonable to say if you're disabled, motorbiking shouldn't necessarily be available. In the same way horse riding, parachuting and being a trapeze artist may well be off the menu. Anyway, you and I both know that that's just an excuse trotted out everytime this argument comes up. The truth is, these are vastly expensive and bought on the whole by people too idle to get a bike license. As to pretend bikers. I've been riding since 1977, went touring in Europe a couple of times this year, Scotland a few times, own about a dozen bikes, and used to own a classic bike restoration business. You?
It’s not for everyone but it’s there for those that want/need it. I’m confident no one will ever force you to ride one but you might occasionally have to look at one (maybe carry a fidget spinner or something so you can distract yourself when one is in sight) normal 2 wheeled service will resume next week 💖
love my 2014. RS-S Spyder Roadster came from BMW adventure 1250GS - prefer the Spyder think its fab. easy to ride. great to have reverse gear and its eyecatchingly different - downside is 22-30 mpg - used Parklands Co Durham for purchase

Glad you enjoyed your first Spyder F3 ryde! Just found your channel and watched your latest adventure on the F3. Cheers from Québec!
Thanks for your comment! Glad you like the channel 😁

@@R1_Liz No, he gave it a miss and passed his car test sadly. He does miss it though, and will probably be so jealous when I eventually get mine LOL.
Great alternative to a motorbike, opening up new ‘safer’ fun for more people, great idea.
It’s a fun thing, in its own lane, opening doors for a whole lot of people looking for adventure and excitement

Thank you!! I will have my three wheeled friend back soon - I’m looking forward to taking it on my local roads for a few days 😁
Can't believe you have never been on that ferry before living down that end. I have several times and I live a long way north of Watford.
I don’t know how I’ve managed it, I generally avoid the area since it’s usually super busy but I guess a winter weekday is safe
Yes please do more of the riding on f3s spyder again love ❤️ it
On it!
"You've probably got Netflix on the dash" really got me lol
TFT is one step away from being a comprehensive entertainment system. Only a matter of time before your vehicle has apps.

I bet he’s super happy 😁 those who have them love them, I think they’re great fun
I think the yellow one would look much nicer with the blue frame then the black.
Great vid Liz, could have been nice with a walkaround on the big one in the shop. Just out of curiosity on my part. Keep up the great work! 😊
I’ll remember that next time - sorry!
Subbing! And 👍🏻 I have had my Spyder since 2021 November. I live far west of Chicago in the country. Love the Spyder F-3S!! It really rips!!!
What are the roads like there? I’ve never been to the states 😬
Good out in the country but not as you get closer to Chicago and many burbs, where I lived most of my life near O’Hare Airport
Great video!! Would you mind sharing the details on your microphone?
Hi Liz, very informative video on the Syder. With the tiny screen did you find you were being buffeted by the wind ?
Wouldnt be a Liz vid without some off roading and a boat 😂
Standard requirements

great video , wife wanted to know what shoei helmet you have
Thank you! It’s a GT Air II with a paint job ☺️
Nice Spyder. 😉
SNAP!
Was you tempted to try and donut 🍩 it or drift it 😊
Once I stop being so fearful! apparently they do donuts if you want them to
Any plans to do another trip like Norway?
Saving up for Iceland ☺️

Next time you try a new camera, try the Insta360 action camera, not the 3D. It has so much better battery life than the gopro
Hey! Thanks got your comment! I’m now using the Insta360 Ace Pro for my videos - much better 😁
@@R1_Liz Happy you like it, mine is awesome. Both cameras has its ups and downs but in general, I like the 360 better.
