Al & Kirk: The Return! Awesome.
Thanks ! Lots of rust to battle
You are probably thinking of POR ( Paint Over Rust) paint? I love the diesel engine conversion. So much torque! :)
Yes thats probably it. I will have to grab some. Haha. I knew someone would come through.
While you’re talking rust repair on a yj, you might want to work in the back of the frame that holds the spring perches and above the belly pan.
Thanks. Stay tuned. (-; no shortage of rust.
Wow i wish i had a friend like that, Im wanting to do that om617 swap to my cherokee
Good ole kirk. Very grateful for him for sure. Did you check out the build series ?
@@AlfonsLC Yesi did, im so impressed with your gumption and determination. Alas, i have no work space for such a project nor the skills at this time.
Hoping to see more from you soon.
Karl Wilhelm i really appreciate the compliment. Makes my day. I was risky with money and time. And kirk was wanting to gove up several times it really was a team effort. I cant wait to get on his project if i can motivate him to get started !
fun to watch and these guys crack me up
Thanks wayne !
@@AlfonsLC Your welcome, you got a real talent for filming
Wayne Ferree thanks wayne. I think the filming is my weak point myself. Im seldom satisfied with it. But this video had 4 hours of total footage to cut and edit down.
@@AlfonsLC Well the thing is, a perfectionist is never satisfied with there performance, and thats a good thing, but eventually experience leads one the conclusion of f---k it , if its not good enough too f'in bad. And then you do the best you can and just let the chips fall where they may. The big thing with your films is honesty and feeling, the two things people all gravitate to, you got that going' for you.
Wayne Ferree well thats a real compliment. Means allot wayne thank you.
Looks good... Sounds awesome... Damn battery charger, LoL, I've done that... What's next? You guys are awesome... Stay safe... Have a great day...
Mike !! Im glad to hear from you. We are keeping kirks project this summer a surprise until we release the first video on it. But its going to be jeep based. I will make 2 more parts with rust battles. Which is almost done now just in time as it gets nice out. And soon kirks project will begin.
@@AlfonsLC Can't wait... Checking Kirks videos now... Later...
@@AlfonsLC What is Kirks channel name? The link took me to apple music...
Mike Brown Ohio oh. I forgot to add it to the links down there ill fix that asap. It is linked in the end screen buttons towards the end of the video. Hes going by a funny parody of his own name. Only one music video now. But we will add more for him. Anyway. Let me fix that.
It should be there now. If its not. ua-cam.com/channels/RkATgtENeJHs9F9bzEGGgQ.html
Hey I’m planning on buying a 2001 Wrangler and doing the engine swap do you have any small tips for working on the rust issues. I also live in PA and I own a E430 Mercedes that is also starting to have rust issues what products do you recommend
Well. Pa road up here are beyond bad. Susquehanna county. Needs to be audited and people need to go to prison. Its shameful. But anyway. I plan on using some POR paint. I ordered it and it will be in part 3 when i finish the rust battle. This jeep frame as been repaired allot. The trouble is they rust from the inside out. The best thing is the expensive POR paint and to constantly keep on it. Also. this jeep has seen its last winter driving. Fair weather only. All these things together. With some luck. Should preserve even this old rust bucket. Thanks for checking in (-:
Also to add. Crawl around under the jeep with a hammer and check the frame. Hit the frame firmly. All over. Make sure its solid.
Thank you very much I’ll be sure to do that when I look at the Jeep again. :)
I don’t know anybody that swings a hammer from the top of the handle.
It broke instantly if you didnt see. Handle might as well been a garden hose.
Yea POR-15 is some bad stuff. I’ve built several CJs and I’ve still got 1/2 gallon left. It’s about $100 a gallon and goes a long way. The rustier the better.
Haha thanks for letting me know. Any brand or anything specific to recommend. Gonna be painting that frame this weekend.
A Guy Named Alfons here’s what I did bro. Scuff and clean the frame down. The POR-15 kit comes with a surface prep to spray and let sit. Then apply the Por. While the POR is still a little tacky (1-2hrs) I painted over the frame with some rustolem because the POR doesn’t have UV.
That sounds like a plan. Thanks !
Hey do you have a Facebook? I have a question to ask.. thanks
I try and keep something private. If theres a question you cant ask in the comments. Send an email in the about section of my channel ?
