This sort of astonishingly beautiful and yet so melancholic music really draws me and deeply resonates with me. It's always the beauty and the mixture of the melancholic that gets to me, and leaves me with a strange feeling of both despair and hope.
So well said. It is so haunting, and if you listen to it in a dark room at 3 am it’s like being introduced to a magical world. The first day I heard it was life changing
This is a beautiful composition. I have visited Faure's grave in Passy cemetery, Paris and prayed for him. In case you don't know, he shares a cemetery with Debussy, the last emperor of Vietnam and Alexandre Millerand, president of France.
There are a few pieces of music which I can listen to over and over again, this is one of them. The only thing better than listening to this piece is being able to play it on an instrument
Que pieza musical tan hermosa y que bien interpretada. Parece que Dios hablara con nosotros. What a beautiful piece of music and so well interpreted that it seems that God spoke to us.
Offer them some cheese to go with their whine, then pat them on the head and let them know that it might be "easier" for them to go listen to some nice rap music and we'll just let the smart people listen to classical.
I've had people curse me and call me names just because I offer the intelligent argument that I disagree with them. I think you're right, some people must be just bitter and angry, looking for someone to attack who doesn't agree with them. (trolls, maybe).
Well, I am not one of them. I am a perfectly bilingual Canadian-Syrian. Just because one speaks French does not mean that they will sound funny... I have heard other foreign orchestras pronouncing the lyrics perfectly. Each to their own.
I think this is the right tempo. A lot of people play this piece at a much higher tempo, and it just kills it for me. Can anyone explain why so many people are in a hurry to get to the end of it? I would appreciate, since I am at a loss with this.
Outstandingly fine work, and such a great compliment to a quite small community, but one endowed with love of the arts, of fine music, of the best hopes we have of civilised behaviour and forward looking peace and happiness, in our celebration of great artists and achievements. The standard is high, admirable, so enjoyable.
This is the only version I know that has a choir too. The choir makes it that much better.
If you are listening to this in 2024, I love you and you are not alone! ❤ I love this fantastic piece of music. This is my favorite version of this piece ....
I'm french,66 years'old :it was the first classical music i ever heard :i was 7..............
A wonderful rendition, bravo.
Une merveille. A écouter" Fauré plays Fauré Pavane" au piano...
Thank you!
Molt bé,molt bona!
sublime
As a 90s kid, I would now reply with "THPS 3".
It's my fav classical and I don't even like classical music but this one, especially the main melody, just hits your soul
Requena, a small town (population: 20.000)... able to get such an outstanding philarmonic orchestra. Bravo!

see their Spanish website, especially the fotos www.orquestarequena.com/ I haven`t found any further informations so far

My town could probably just about manage a chorus of Happy Birthday! 😀🤷♂️
Don't quite understand some comments about this being too slow. Look up the definition of "pavane." You speed this piece up and you'll ruin it.
nickgtv It's weird to know that the original composition and playing was actually fast ("piano roll" I guess)
Pavane was composed to be played faster than it's played today. That's why so many people are saying that.
People are getting used to the rushed versions, but you are absolutely right
Were they still singing in French? This sounds different to my Fauré cd 🤔.
@@1Flyingfist I'm French and I don't understand a single word of what they're singing...
No no darling, this would be the right time to start coughing...

Divine! I am no expert in music theory but it just speaks to my heart.
Definetely the best version I found on the internet. Simply wonderful.

Gabriel Faurè (1845 - 1924) was the composer of this beautiful masterpiece in 1887.
Very BAD chorus, always low tune with voices without any technic. Ridiculous conductor: he has no idea of what the text tells. What a pity! 😢
Gabriel Fauré né à Pamiers (Ariège.).
Fantastic piece of music which I used to play to my daughter when she was a tot and so happy memories

Faure - he sought simplicity, and found beauty.

What a lot of musicians love this song .
This performance leaves me spellbound .
beautiful, beautiful version. so very pleasing to my ears and brain. thank you.
Best version of pavane, i love it very much.
Unbelievebla. Thank you very very much for this wonderful performance!
This is a beautiful composition. I have visited Faure's grave in Passy cemetery, Paris and prayed for him. In case you don't know, he shares a cemetery with Debussy, the last emperor of Vietnam and Alexandre Millerand, president of France.
+Harry Lande That is incorrect. President Mitterand is buried in Cimetiere des Grands-maisons.

When I watch performances like this I always think 'got to learn to play the flute/violin/..."
You should see the collection of instruments I have amassed, trying to find the one that I actually could play!
Magnifica interpretación de esa estupenda obra de Faure
Bravo , Maestria Orquesta Filarmonica Requena , vous faites honneur à Gabriel Fauré
Just lovely! This is one of my favorite pieces and I had NO idea it had a choral part. How exquisite!
And yet Faurè wasn't hugely fond of it when he composed it 1887.
This music moves me to tears everytime
same feeling here
this is heaven

What a beautiful piece of music and so well interpreted that it seems that God spoke to us.
WTF 111 don't like. What do They Like, trash? Classical is for strong not for children.

Just beautiful I love listening to this it’s a perfect way to start every day

this music very nice...
Wow, just Wow so beautiful
It would be even more wonderful if it were not for all the fucking coughing from the audience.
Music from heaven
Gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to it.
Isnt it strange how something so beautiful can be criticised, some people must come to You tube just to whinge, what sad people.
Offer them some cheese to go with their whine, then pat them on the head and let them know that it might be "easier" for them to go listen to some nice rap music and we'll just let the smart people listen to classical.

Too much bad educated people in the audience, with their coughs and harrumphs...
the pronunciation of the lyrics is awful. As a native French-speaker I could barely understand the lyrics...
And? They're not french. One of the funniest things in the world is listening to french people speaking other languages.
Well, I am not one of them. I am a perfectly bilingual Canadian-Syrian. Just because one speaks French does not mean that they will sound funny... I have heard other foreign orchestras pronouncing the lyrics perfectly. Each to their own.

So much noise from the audience, like at 00:30 and 01:23. Unbelievable...
I think this is the right tempo. A lot of people play this piece at a much higher tempo, and it just kills it for me. Can anyone explain why so many people are in a hurry to get to the end of it? I would appreciate, since I am at a loss with this.
True! And yet Gabriel himself played it on the piano at a higher pace.

Mario veenstra. There is an other version with a choir: Arvo Paar. conducting
4:48 - 5:03 always makes me cry..
After the horn and viola solis, i find that the choir is drowning the orchestra a little. But overall the music is lovely!
brutal!!!!!
Fernando Lima "Pavane"💎❤
Magnífico!
The orchestra is wonderful, but the chorus is mediocre.
Nice performance but noisy audience.
