SO helpful! My prof went over how to do this on the calc so quickly and you did a great job explaining it, thank you so much!! This will definitely help me with my final next week.
Hello Professor! When I follow the cash flows, and insert interest as 0 it does compute NPV. However, when i try to compute IRR it shows error 7. In this case what shoud I do?
sir I get an error after putting all the cashflows in and then pressing IRR and then compute - the only thing different from your example is that my cash flow at the beginning of the year = 0

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the NPV wouldn't be zero. It would be $10,116.55 .
In calculating the IRR, you are finding at what discount rate would the NPV equal zero. So we are forcing the NPV to be zero.
Man's a chillionaire
Can you please explain how I can calculate IRR if there are year without cash in or outflow?
Cash flow for that year is 0 then
Who is from India 😂
Video starts 3:08
sir I get an error after putting all the cashflows in and then pressing IRR and then compute - the only thing different from your example is that my cash flow at the beginning of the year = 0
what if a cash flow has a frequency of more than 1?
