The tip on deactivating chaining calculation was actively protecting me from a mental breakdown. Who in gods sake decided to make chaining the standard setting, its so frustrating to calculate anything with exp or ln in the term. Much appreciation for the vid!
This video is actually really helpful. Yes, some of the info can be found in the manual, but there is a lot of content to read and this explains why it would be helpful to follow the tips. Thank you.
Thank You Thank you Thank you :) My antique TI calculator quit a couple years ago and I finally get me a new and improved.one or that is what they say it is. The old one was easier I guess because I knew it better. For the life of me I couldn't get out of that 0.00 mode. You explained it perfectly. I like to use it for the financial end of the calculator. Thanks again and I'm looking forward to watching you in the next video!😃
"You won't read about this in the owner's manual" Information on how to reset and how to change the number of decimals and change from Chn to AOS can be found in page 5 of the manual.
Can you plase tell me which BAII calculator to buy - the professional one or the other one. Price is double. Is there any special difference between either of them ?
I'm probably going to sound dumb here so forgive me but is there a way to turn off rounding when doing normal arithmetic functions? This calculator always seems to round answers with decimals and it has led me to having two calculators on hand. Not something I'm pleased about considering I spent $80+ on this calculator. Please tell me there is a way...
Hi, I have a question. When I try to compute a TVM problem the calculator throws me a wrong answer and shows an asterisk in the top right of the screen, which I didn't notice before. I already reset it thousand times and made sure that the input was correct. What can I do?
Seems so counterintuitive for the default operation not to be AOS. Like we all took math for a dozen years and know the order of operations already, so shouldn't the calculator?
I got question for Nathan Burke.....why do you say the video is a total waste of time and you don't even give your reasons.I personally found it very helpful.
I SAW AN INTRO CLIP ON LVL 2 AND 3 (THIS SHOULD SERIOUSLY NOT BE MORE THAN 10 MINS) BUT THEY WERE ~35MINUTES EACH IM LIKE (AIN'T-NOBODY-GOT-TIME-FOTHAT!!) AND SURE ENOUGH WILEY ON THE SAME TOPIC: 9:19 I LIKE I LIKE SO FAR!
hi, I just received the business analyst and the only difference is how to change the battery. analyst: you need a screwdriver professional: you don't need a screwdriver if it comes to calculating..there are no differences
Extreme noobish tips. 1) AOS or CHN is not necessary -- as long as you follow school's basic BODMAS, you're good. Don't complicate things, stick to default 2) Decimals -- stay floating What they could or should have told are: 1. You can calculate time-weight return (CF function then CPT > IRR). Same goes for NPVs, etc. 2. You can calculate mean, standard deviation, covariance, etc. all using this calculator instead of wasting life in memorizing formulas (2nd > Data then 2nd Stat) 3. Bond yields and valuations can also be done. Just a few tips that I am able to recall on the go.
No, guys seriously, this video should be the pre-pre-pre read for all candidates, I'd been cursing this calculator because of the decimals and the chaining of operations.
@@michaelamundson4715 Absolutely! HP also doesn't need a stupid CPT (compute) button to work out the answer and there is no parentheses (brackets) to mess with
"the professional is almost double the cost of the regular, but you dont have to use a screw driver to change the battery" uhh ill pay $3 for the screwdriver instead of $30 for the pro

You still think so?

Not all heroes wear a cape.
to bad
Thank you. I am not in Finance but I have this calculator. These were the two features I really needed to get the best use out of it.
This video literally changed my life!

Thank you very much! Was nervous to mess this up for my accounting subject. Thank you very much. You saved me a lot of time trying to figure this out.
Thank you! AOS function is a lifesaver!
thanks wiley, that AOS function was very helpful

He meant that generally people (ie males) don't read manuals.

Fantastic advice thank you very much! Specifically the floating tip that was exactly what I was looking for.

This saved my time. Thank you so much
I wish I seen this before my Finance class was over. I will use it this time around. Made it clear to use. I have to do it again.
Thanks a lot sir . The video was very helpful and hopefully help me save time during my exam in June 2018 :)
It’s been 2022, if may I ask you how was your exam :)
The Professional version which you recommend slows down the speed as the keys are rigid as compared to the normal one.
This saved my life.
You are a life saver
Thank you Professor.

mann I wished I had watched this before now I have to bring a screwdriver to the exam!
The down arrows to chn don’t work on both my calculators. I have the professional and standard. Please help
You continue with the first decimal change steps. Do not clear everything and just start with the 4 downward arrows.
Floating decimal ! Very useful
This is insanely helpful... did not expect this
Still useful in 2024
you are awesome man, thanks for AOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is perfect. Thank you sir
How to calculate Norm inverse function in BA 11 plus ?

Omg AOS is a life saver !!!!

how to do 4(-3+7) in this calculator? if I enter - sign just after the bracket it miscalculates everything
I too have this issue. Did you happen to figure out this

Switching Chn to AOS messes up bond YTM calculations, isn't it?

Hi, How to compute the difference between those dates? date 1: 01 september 1930 and date 2: 28 July 2030 with TI BAII+ calculator. Thanks!

Thank you for your tips :)
Thank you so much!!!!!
very helpful video, thanks so much!
thank you thank you thank you
How can I solve = (2+2)*(2+1)/(3+3) without bracket using AOS?
You'll need to put the brackets. Basic bodmas , if you don't it'll multiply or divide first instead of adding.
Many thanks! Brilliant!
hi . PLease suggest whether i shall buy a baii plus (business analyst) or professiona?? and why. I am a level 1 student
Pro....if budget is no issue go for hp 12c
hi,
I just received the business analyst and the only difference is how to change the battery.
analyst: you need a screwdriver
professional: you don't need a screwdriver
if it comes to calculating..there are no differences
there are few additional functions in professional
did they not fucking think about a solar powered calculator?
0:58 not the best way to compare ba2 plus vs ba2 plus pro

I have been studying for the June Level 1 and just ran across this video. Do you suggest changing the chain setting at this point in the game?
Thanks!!!

Thanks so much! Really helpful!
amazing video mate
REALLY useful

where can i find this calculator for PC like how you're using it
A+ info! Super helpful!
Thank you so so much
This calculator would be perfect with rpn
Or maybe just buy a Hewlett-Packard?

Beautiful.
Thx so much
How can i put it on degree mode?

This is such a terribly set up calculator. I wish others were allowed in my classes.
this calculator is simply garbage. Who had the ideia of making it the standard one? No formula imput or expression. Just terrible
THANK YOU!
Thanks a lot
