During the Blacklist attacks two years after the EMP attack on D.C. that took place in 2011, 4th Echelon field operatives Sam Fisher and Isaac Briggs investigated a lead involving Voron attempting to steal a nuclear weapon from India. Eventually, the operation led them to an abandoned city in Koltsovo Naukograd, Russia. Originally, their mission being to retrieve the intel source that Voron was using they discovered instead a medical facility with a lone individual in a comatose state. Evidence showed that the coma was artificial and had been induced several times, presumably for interrogation purposes, leading Sam to believe that Voron's intel source was in fact the individual.
Fisher and Briggs managed to extract with the patient, whom later Anna Grímsdóttir identified as Mikhail Loskov, callsign "Kestrel". Due to Kestrel's knowledge of 3rd Echelon, Fisher decided that it was best that they keep him aboard the Paladin until they found out what he knew. Afterwards, Kestrel's entry in the SMI database states that he indeed recovered aboard the Paladin and that he was aware that Voron used him as an intel source. However, he did not know how he ended up in their hands or that Andriy Kobin had played a role in it.

So frustrating to see such a strong cast of characters that's been developed over so many years... and Ubi doing absolutely nothing with them. How about a SC game with Sam and Grim as mission control, Briggs and Kestrel as field agents for single player/co-op, and Kobin on transport? So much wasted potential...
Archer and Kestrel. Damn. What a messed up story since Reed didn't want no witnesses from the Russian joint mission. Turning them into loose ends. And for the record, I'm just glad Grim did all of us a favor for shooting Reed. Yes I spare Reed for Grim doing the honor.
So, the canon ending for Conviction's Coop campaign is Kestrel killing Archer and being shot after
I understand that this mission is really really hard if you don't watch gameplay and your teammate is not a stealth veteran or doesn't experience like that in games. We managed to finish this but the last section was tough because of the facility having a lot of more enemies and don't have many of those hiding spots. Then, the drone section which is annoying if your teammate is not an accurate shooter. But it was fun playing this game.
Kestrel could’ve been a spin off series wasted potential

I'd much prefer a sequel to Blacklist than the remake but I guess beggars can't be choosers.
They fucked up HARD on the in-game story tbh. In Conviction, Kestrel's real name was Mikhail Volkov and he has sleeve tattoos on his right arm. I hate to sound nitpicky but if they're going to do that kind of fan service then they can and should do it properly, otherwise it just feels meaningless. That storyline was something I remember fans really caring about at the time and even though I haven't played Conviction or read that game's manual (where you see Kestrel's name: Volkov) in years I still knew that right off the top of my head so how come the multimillion dollar company making these games couldn't be bothered?
Thank you for this pal. I am Russian myself, it was a pain to watch countrymate Kestrel and Archers death in Conviction. However I still have belief he ll return.
When i first played this mission i didn't understand what was going on with the debrief at paladin's medical bay. only yesterday i learned what happened in conviction's coop (the only game of the franchise i never played, either sp or coop) The reference they did here was amazing. "how the hell did he know then?"
First thing i thought when i saw him was where did his tattoo on the right arm go?
Voron Kestrel survived by got shot in the head at the end of Splinter cell Conviction co op story mission. Except Archer though, will you see two of their dead bodies in the Malta Museum. And hear three guys talk about the two spies. Sam did not like the hear of Emp bombs six months ago in Washington DC.

So looks like we have a new player in the field playing both sides Russia and America can't wait to find out its maybe Korea or China
Like if they do make another SC game i feel like the best option is to go for Kestrel to be the protag instead of Sam since he is in Rainbow now.

When it came out I used to play it everyday but I pirated it but when I have purchased it I don’t have time to play it…but I have played conviction so I know what’s going on here..

I always died when fighting this boss at the end. When fighting sadiq with a knife click the X button for MASH. i am confused what should i do.... Please tell me how. Just tap the X button Once or Repeatedly or HOLD while shaking the controller? Thank you friend
