Dorothy made a short appearance in this episode.
What I really like about this scene is how the writers have totally twist the original story with much flare.
For all we know, this may be what truly happens whilst Dorothy was in Oz and that its she herself who overexaggereated all the other part of the stories.
I love this twist I must say and later on we found out that Zelena wasn't really dead but impersonates the wizard and gave dorothy the silver shoes, something Dorothy might interpret it as her triumph over The Wicked Witch Of The West.

Why do they never stick to one name for the Wicked Witch? In Wicked, her name is Elphaba, in Oz the Great and Powerful, her name is Theodora, and here, her name is Zelena. What's next?

+Arthus850 Each of those incarnations are copyrighted, they would get sued if they reused any of the names. The Wizard of Oz is in public domain through the original book, so anyone could still retell the story. There was also Bastinda in the Russian plagiarism and Evilene in The Wiz.
Jansci7G Not really. Just use different names. The Muppets' Wizard of Oz and Witches of Oz both used the unofficial names of the Witch of the North, Locasta and Tattypoo.

Some fans, myself included, prefer Locasta because it is the name Baum chose; others prefer Tattypoo because it is from the books, albeit ones published after Baum's death. Also, this discussion was about the Wicked Witch of the West, who does not have any original name.
Jansci7G Well, not in the sense of copyright like you said earlier, because 1. They DO use the names in different adaptations yet don't use/find ways around things form other adaptations like the Wicked Witch's skin color and the ruby slippers in the 1939 which are more widely known and popular and 2. The books and basically everything unrelated to the 1939 film is public domain so use can use it freely to an extent.
I don't really like what they did with Oz and Dorothy. We hardly see *any* of Oz, and Dorothy was relegated to little more than a red herring.
Well we're gonna see more oz and the battle between Zelena and adult Dorothy for oz in season 5b

On second thought, I'm fine with Dorothy being a red herring. That subplot with Dorothy and Ruby was so bad, I didn't cringe at Bo Peep the warlord that much.
In each witch episode of once apon a time the witch seems to be a different person every time.
You'd think they could have done it a little better. It looks like someone had fun with the warp button on their computer.

@@EtherealdjinnI honestly love the movie version too. Either way, this didn’t even look bad. The only cgi that looks “bad” is the crazy backgrounds and some certain creatures and stuff but that’s cause of their small budget. Either way idc. I just use my imagination.

One of the actresses who played Elphaba is called Teal.
She doesn't even throw the water onto the fire, she just straight up splashes it onto her dress like girl I get you're panicking but maybe try and aim better

It’s kind of sad that they couldn’t use elphie and Fierro’s name but they could use Glenda and Dorothy’s name that doesn’t make any sense I mean yes it’s in the public domain but you shewill always be elphaba and I do not care what you say
