pookie pie Just to add a quick smth: if you want to find easy genuine compliments it can be just a little thing you noticed like a nice shirt or complimenting they’re efficiency or nice writing. Compliments don’t need to be always on the same things.
When anybody says a compliment about me I /always/ assume it's fake or sarcastic. I figure there are people who /always/ assume it's genuine, too. It's gotta work both ways right?
Not exactly. You're always allowed to call a woman beautiful or a man handsome, pretty much no matter what they look like. Unless they were recently horribly disfigured and its still a sore spot maybe. But otherwise, even if people know youre buttering them up they will usually appreciate the gesture so long as it feels like its coming from a place of affection
It seems like her charisma comes very naturally. That generally is the case with a person who is genuinely nice, humble, and treats others with respect. I bet she’s fun to be around.

True. I am a person who smiles a lot and makes fun of herself, nothing exaggerated, but adding this to being petite and a woman, working in a environment mostly made by men, in a corporation..this means they don't take me seriously.
Being that way makes you look weak and they will attack you. Also, if you are genuine and happy people will be drawn to you to unbalance their dysfunction on you. Half full glass people attract half empty glass people.

Need a "how to be less charming" idk lmao.
Oh sorry, if it sounded like i really am that insecure. I am not. I know who i am, and i try my best to have a good life, and make others happy, so it makes me happy. Charming or not, i don't even care if i am. I just made a joke about those Thumbnails, i don't like it on youtube, and what it might suggest to people. But thanks for the kind words!
I think it's because she has a really bright energy when she talks, laughs and when making jokes. A good listener always Positive. Unlike other people who always got Negativity vibe when they talk, always wanna win the conversation, can't accept jokes and always feel insecure when she's the topic of the joke.
She doesn't care rocking back and forth while laughing while others are just so poised and fake. She's always "into the moment" and laugh at her own mistakes. She's adorable 🥰
I think, being genuine is charming. She is at heart, a performer. Some people don’t have that natural inclination to make others feel good, or to express every thought and emotion. Sometimes, just being consistent in who you are, no matter what others do or say, is all the charisma you need. If you don’t like something, you don’t pretend you do. If you have a weird sense of humor, you express it (even if it’s with a dry face). I like quiet, pensive types that randomly tell you things that blow your mind. Or that give insights you didn’t see.
I don't even think she is a performer. She was a long time sick and nearly died. This changes someone. She is happy to be alive, even though her doctors didn't believe she would make it. She enjoys life every second. But because of that I don't think it is possible to just follow those tips. It's a personality either you are that way or you are not.
Kanai yeah! If you know about MBTI 16 personality types you can sort of understand that concept better. I’m like her when I’m with people outside of my family, even with my family. I’ve been told I’m funny, but in a “you’re so entertaining” kind of way. But it’s because I have strong Ne (extroverted intuition) which helps me to notice opportunities for making jokes about things in my environment. Not always funny but makes people comfortable. Sometimes I get asked what I’m laughing at though because it’s not funny to anyone else 😆 coincidentally I love acting.
someone ones told me that my character reminded them of Emilia and it was the best compliment ive been given. I thought my constant smiling and giggling was annoying hahaha
Honestly it's all about your face and voice. Some ppl just have it and others don't. Even if their personality is awesome sometimes the physical gets in the way.
@@MiketheNerdRanger that's not shallow it's true. Me for example. I'm nice and not ugly but I just have a boring voice. Trust me it is hard to keep someone's attention because of it. Then there's ppl like my sister in law who doesn't even try and she's the center of attention all the time. Some have it some don't. Just a fact. Same with faces.
Exactly! If you don't have a 'nice' voice, or if you're considered 'ugly', forget about this. People will call you fake and will say that your overdoing it, or even think that you're upbeat behavior feels like you're nervous. I've been watching people's reaction to 'cute' people and to older, not 'cute' people. Same parties, same day, totally opposite reactions. And not to mention famous, rich, powerful people. Everybody is always sooo interested in them.
When I somehow started to be genuinely interested in all the people I met, I could feel my level of charm increase by the interaction. Now calling yourself out as charming is a rather uncharming move, so I'm not going to do that. But, the level of connection and joyful meetings with all sorts of people came with my awaken curiosity for the story behind the person! Just saying.
so true! I also took this tip from Charlies videos. And if you want to "steal the spotlight", be extra with something you do or wear. If you just look and talk about stuff like the majority of the ppl around you, you won't get a chance to stand out.

not true... I had a pretty ugly friend (just being honest) and the dude was hella charismatic, and always had chick friends and decent looking girlfriends. He wasn't rich or anything, but looking back, he did some of the things talked about here.
Yuuuup! A person like me exhibits these behaviors and yet, probably isn't as charming to those who find her charming. Oh well... still not gonna stop me, can't see myself caring about what others think that badly enough to change my personality.
There was this one girl who me and many people had a crush on and she was quite ugly. She was fit but it was her charisma that made people attracted to her. Obviously it helps to have good looks but you can still go far without them.
Same. I love his videos and thinks he gives clear, applicable advice, but it's a little exhausting/overwhelming too. I think for people with social anxiety or who are more introverted sometimes just committing to showing up and trying to engage and put your best foot forward even when you don't feel your best should be considered a win. I won't always have the energy to apply these as much as I would like, so maybe I won't be the most charismatic person. I'm learning to be kind and generous towards myself. I'm still working on showing up and I'm accepting that :D
I adore that positivity and genuine hapiness she expresses. I used to be like that but people would put me down a lot because of my appearance since I was a child. I grew up and came closer to what an attractive person looks like but unfortunatelly that genuine emotions and trust in people just dissapeared. Now I just feel bitter, self-concious and suspicious when I talk to most people. I am scared to be myself because I got rejected so many times. But it´s me who is paying the price for not being able to bring positivity to others.
I feel that. I've struggled with depression for a lot of years and it took some flip flopping hard work to find humor again! But now, even though I still struggle a lot with depression, I can find joy by finding humor in the little things. Even if it's just my dog's flatulence. Don't give up! Laughter is one of the keys to dealing with chronic depression! Her height, or lack thereof, is a problem though. XD

That's a shallow way to look at it. You don't have to be gorgeous, just interesting.

We need a TED Talk: "Being Charming is easier than you think" by Emilia Clarke
Rodrigo Vazquez+ I second this.
True
She is so charming because it's who she truly is without any faking 😭
I adore that positivity and genuine hapiness she expresses. I used to be like that but people would put me down a lot because of my appearance since I was a child. I grew up and came closer to what an attractive person looks like but unfortunatelly that genuine emotions and trust in people just dissapeared. Now I just feel bitter, self-concious and suspicious when I talk to most people. I am scared to be myself because I got rejected so many times. But it´s me who is paying the price for not being able to bring positivity to others.
Same

I've been asking for ages now!!
emilia allows herself to find the humor in everything
my depression doesn't allow me to find humor in anything
touché
I feel that. I've struggled with depression for a lot of years and it took some flip flopping hard work to find humor again! But now, even though I still struggle a lot with depression, I can find joy by finding humor in the little things. Even if it's just my dog's flatulence. Don't give up! Laughter is one of the keys to dealing with chronic depression! Find a happy spot and focus on it, until your perspective shifts from seeing the black to only seeing that tiny speck of light, until the blackness is overcome by the good you focus on! I believe in you! 😇😇😇
Sometimes you have to "act" the part. After a while, and with some help, it will come naturally. Good luck
Just bcz she's smilling doesn't mean she's not depressed. She might be she might not be. Sometimes smiling is a trauma response.
Emilia Clarke is genuinely one of the most charming people in showbiz, someone you just wanna hang out with because she's so effervescent. She can also speak Dothraki and High Valyrian, so that's a real plus too.
