This car is a completely different beast now. They updated it and now it's so much more reasonable at low speeds. Now it's the best car in the game IMO

Thanks for testing tcs on this car! I’m a controller user and that was the first thing I normally turn off but after seeing that, I can imagine it will be very difficult with the F1 Merc.
The F1 games in chase cam feel like a completely different game and I never hear anyone talk about it.

It's crap at low speed because it feels like the games auto clutch kicks in. Car seems to go into neutral under downshifts and then when you release the brakes the clutch kicks in and spits the tail out
Matthew Thomas the car doesn't rev match on downshifts. The car is broken.
Matthew Thomas if you lower the acceleration lsd (or whatever the middle one is) by around 5 it helps with the kick off the throttle

Lol the fact that they released a broken car pissed me off, especially considering how excited I was to drive this thing. Then I tried to downshift. It was like I was just braking without downshift. I let off the brake and turn, the car seemingly tries to rev match, and then it spins as I'm cornering, and NOT ON THE THROTTLE. They need to fix this shit asap.

F1 '97 on PS1 was great with chase cam, full damage, full race length, and had Spa before they messed the bus stop chicane up.
Good edition to the game and looking forward to some fun races/lobbies with it! They have also got the miserable sound of the current F1 era of cars spot on, so props to Polyphony Digital for that!

Orang h Yeah, they took the f1 2017 sounds from the 2015 cars where the exhaust wasn't as loud as it is since 2016 the turbo waste gages were introduced.

Man this takes me back to Gran Turismo 5 trying to get the Red Bull car with controller.
It was hard driving F1's back then with controller but man, the Red Bull was just a level above it.
I heard that the f1 car is glitched and the clutch stays in when you downshift, that’s what I heard

A group that I am in on twitter recently came up with a theory that we believe that they made an error not giving player the ability to edit the livery. This is for a couple of reasons:
1. It can't be for licensing reasons because why have a colour variant version which gets rid of all the sponsors, with some of them getting rid of the Merc logo.
2. On Discover, where you can find custom liveries from the community, why is their a section for the Mercedes 2017 F1 car.
We also believed this car was rushed just due to how buggy it is when it comes to braking in terms of the engine switches off and into corners as it spins every time you go down to 2nd gear.
I will leave you to draw your own conclusions.

The actual fast lap in the race was a 1:33.144 by lewis hamilton. So in terms of race pace it is pretty close. Party mode has quite a few bhp in the mercs and the ferraris. They are suddenly like 2-3 seconds faster in quali than in free practice and another second faster in q3 in the highest mode.
Guardian of the Blind Pole lap was a 1.27 so its to slow

there are many more factors, that make quali also more faster like full on ers deployment, tyre temperature and fuel load. this makes up a few seconds. The 1:33 might be a bit to hight for comparison, but you still have to add 2-3 seconds to the pole time to make it more comparable with gt sport.

Getting credits in this game is easy and quick. For example, get a mclaren f1 downtune the power to 86 the weight to 87. Then go to Gt league premium sports lounge Blue Mom Bay race. You can finish this race in 12 minutes or less and have 315,000 credits. Don't crash or hit anything.
brellnob Or use the KTM X-Bow and get a quarter million even if you don't drive clean.
Not sure how you can drive in 3rd person "helicopter view", should drive bonnet or bumper!

They've always had marbles in this game. Some circuits create more than others just like in the real.
It sounds very accurate but I do notice some small flaws, the gear changes are just slightly off, on the real car there is a small "shake" in the engine revs when it goes to the next gear, I don't think I hear that in gt, the turbo and gearbox whine are too loud but you can tweak that in the settings
2:12 absolutely SHOCKING steering movements! This looks like steering assist or something...
Actually you can adjust cocpit wiev in Detailed setings, but you have to pause race to have access to these settings.

The Mercedes is unrealistically fast on the straights too, during the pole lap of Suzuka the Mercedes went about 190mph through 130R but in GT Sport the Mercedes was approaching the corner at over 200mph.
Brendan Thomas I wouldn’t say unrealistic, I’d say it depends on the setup. Maybe hamilton was running more downforce?
I imagine the difference comes from downforce and gearing.

This car doesn't handle very realistically. The DRS is deployable everywhere.
F1 2017 is more realistic than GT sport when it comes to open wheelers.
Brendan Thomas its just a setup diiference. Im sure the w08 is capable of 200mph on that straight. However, gear ratios are optimized for acceleration and top speed on the track they are used on
In the new update they fixed the car in the slow corners
Funny thing that in Gran Turismo 5 they added 2010 Ferrari F10 coz they were thinking that Alonso would win a championship on it. That didn't happened. Maybe they wanted to add W09, but Lewis didn't want to be jinxed, so they had to choose previous year's car.

You're shifting waaaay too late. In this car, you shouldn't try to shift that much in the rev zone. You can shift through corners with will give you a huge 'boost' of Downforce.
Would love to see that in a daily race around a track that F1 is driving (Monza, Suzuka, etc.).
It's bugged. They forgot the heel toe of the automatic transmission, therefore when you stop breaking it just dumps the clutch.
It is a handful to drive for sure but thats me not the car. Its fun. Im glad they added it

You can change how high you are in the cockpit in the settings so you can actually see over the wheel and etc.

Such a shame they didn't add the Ferrari 😓...At least they did a good job on it. As of today, I don't own the game so I don't keep up with the updates but, weren't we expecting a generic F1 model where you could create your own livery and so on? Great video anyways! Keep it up!

i know this is old but on the first few corners you can rev out in 4th gear and beat pretty much every ai and I got 1:15.309 secods because of that drastic change in gears

I wonder if the stats in the pre race menu are real. They look like they could be, but given that power figures and weights are so secretive who knows. I've no idea what the torque figure the game states is about though.
The downshifting looks to be broken. Are you getting any engine braking? Looks like clutch is being pressed as you downshift. Car looks bugged to me.

Oh well about time I save up money and get PS4 with GT Sport. They are definitely working hard on it and giving Forza a serious run for the money.
As an actual xbox player theyve never given forza run for their money the GT series is much better

Little Light I don’t want a Ferrari livery ew no thanks but I want custom decals to be a viable option. I like putting the racing crew emblems and such on the car. Especially since CnF doesn’t fit in my username XD
iLupi companies pay millions of dollars to have their brand name on these cars, there is no way they would allow any game to customize it

I wonder why this car are so difficult to use in low corners, i even changed it to riculous settings to prevent losing control in slow corners, but it doesn't help.
It's almost undriveable in slow corners. Main tip would be to keep it in 4th gear minimum.
Its a little weird , in Gt Sport a have the bug with the W08 that the revs dont go down one tiny bit when you shift from gear 7 to 8,but i didn't see the bug in your gameplay...
Lucas TV its your gearing, if you set up gearing so 7th and 8th gear are a bit longer it doesnt do that

If you use customized transmission then it will do that. Hes using the stock gearbox
Texpress Network no its how the transmission is set up, if you set 7th and 8th to be shorter and close together it will do that, thats how gearing works.

The downshifts looks a bit strange, actually you can't listen the downshifts it's like the engine get turned off, I don't know hehehe just don't sounds good as the onboard in real life.

how does gt sport incorporate boost like your not suppose receive peak power in low gear even with TC the car would be a handful if polyphony did not compensate for that they basically made a modern lotus 98T

The car is all wrong, even in qualifying they weren't doing 200+ at 130R, they also didn't reach 215 going into the first corner without slipstream and DRS, the car doesn't have traction control, developers are clueless.
Are the marbles off the racingline new? Never noticed them before
