Corden is actually alright. I met him once and he signed an autograph for me and told me to look after myself. I'm his son.

Hahaha
James Cordon is alright. I met him outside a club in Soho. He yelled at me fo 20 minutes, lost track of time. Yelled at the DJ and passed out on th floor. I'm his therapist.
He didn't know, being James Corden, he didn't want to do what he had to do, being James Corden, and he did nothing, being James Corden.
Still, a great emoter
For me, there were three losers in this fight... and what happened is very sad I hope everybody is okay.

He's got genuine venomous hatred for him, and its completely justified.
It's remarkable he's been successful not just in his own country, but somehow in the US, as well. Of course he steals jokes, he hasn't come up with a good one in 15 years himself!
Limmy is a comedian, so seeing an Englishman besmirch his profession is like a personal insult.
That's what I'm here for
@@Wanup_Vodka because he met Corden at a charity-do once. He was surprisingly down-to-earth and very funny.

We need a writer to steal a Limmy joke and make James say it.
It's also interesting that the original Gervais joke had recently blown up over the last 2 months online - I'd often see it on my list of recommended UA-cam Shorts - it's seen as a pretty good argument against Twitter outrages, etc.
So the writers weren't just stitching him up over a word-for-word joke that happened 4 years ago, they were stitching him up over something which a huge chunk of people would have seen in recent weeks on social media. And that shows how detached Corden is from things these days, he literally didn't have a fucking clue.
Also, if he's as big a fan of Gervais as he claims to be, he would have spotted that joke in an instant when the writers gave it to him. So that's also quite telling.
I am a fan of Gervais', historically but his recent stand ups are so shit I could only bare to watch small parts. Also not being aware of small viral bits of stand up that may have been on your social media home page is not a bad thing lol.
@@eliwood9906 Gotta agree mate, his early stand ups etc were great.
I'll still watch shorts of him tearing into other actors etc that's it tho.
I've no idea of the context of this but I'd wager corden has been mistreating his writing team or they have it in for him and stitched him up.
It highlights perhaps cordens lack of interest in contemporary comedy given Gervais is one of the biggest comedians on the planet and that joke has gone viral as you stated very recently.
@@Azad_2024_ years ago on Never Mind the Buzzcocks Frankie Boyle said something like, you can use that line if you want Corden.
It seems he's been using others comedians jokes for awhile, as Gervais has said the same.
Or, as you've stated, his writers have been stitching him up.

Cold confession my guy, takes baws
Agree with the writer stitch up theory
I can't accept that theory when he uses the exact same delivery. Not to cause a debate, or be a contrarian or fucking whatever. And Corden throwing the writers under the bus is even worse IMO. At the very least he's a FUCKING GRASS.

Limmy analysing things in detail like this is my favourite.
Corden knew. Corden even stole Ricky's laugh lets not forget. Corden goes to bed dreaming of being Ricky.
The writer theory does make the most sense but he even delivers it with almost identical inflection. It comes across like someone who has seen the joke and is imitating it. But then surely he wouldn’t think he’d get away with that…awww fuck knows.
Joke writers also play out the delivery in front of performers, so it's possible they told him how to do all that. I wouldn't be surprised.
Corden is like Cartman stealing Jimmy’s fish sticks joke
Meanwhile Kanye has also turned into Cartman lmao
Larry David does this exact thing on Curb your enthusiasm. He’s on a chat show and tells a joke and then feels weird suddenly and later he realises he heard it in a stand up he saw earlier in the year and the comedian hunts him down.
So he's plagiarising Larry David too?!
That isn't the exact thing, is it? James is the host performing a scripted monlogue
@@eliwood9906 Yeah I wonder if he went off script for a second? I’m sure hosts do that a lot. If not, then the script writer definitely did him on purpose lol
Put a fatwa on his ass too!
Thank you for not expanding the situation
The Corden laugh impression has absolutely killed me, oh my god
100% been stitched up by a writer
This is a lesson for all show hosts: Don’t treat your writers like Limmy treats his mods.
What happened?
Limmy's mechanical heart stops functioning if he stops talking about James. A tragedy waiting to happen. Sad.
It's not even my joke, it's my brother's joke. It's meant to be with bills, doesn't really work with faxes.
"I could change it..
I could just say big cock, and not mention the colour.. "
@16:53 Patrick Stewart impression always gets me! 😆 Even better when Limmy looks like he's shiftily coming out of a possession immediately after.
Got to be some kind of performance or humiliation kink-stealing a bad joke from an insufferable comedian, guaranteed to get caught.
exactly correct
Insufferable?
See that video of him using (and butchering) that Noel Fielding joke too?
I dislike him because he's a generic host, a carbon copy of the other bunch, and he replaced who I believed to be the most unique and refreshing host in Craig Ferguson, so that makes James even worse to me.
That's no reason to hate the man. Let me coach you and guide you into a deeper hate
If I was his writers I'd be distancing myself at all costs because their writing makes him sound like a total fud
Limmy is a tonic of sanity in mad times. Easy to pile on here but he's like stand back a minute be sure of your thoughts and don't let them stray to bullying.
?? that’s not what he’s saying at all - limmy openly despises and bullies corden purely for the fact that he finds him irritating - he’s pointing out that everyone else also does the same, and that they should own that instead of pretending they have legitimate reasons to dislike corden. At no point is he telling anyone not to dislike him or pick on him
The hatred James Corden is heavier than steel.
Geez some original patter please
9:38 that laugh is an exact combination of Gervais and Corden when they both do their shreek laugh
9:38 is a far too accurate impression of Corden's cackle... almost started to hate Limmy by proxy
Yeah that fuckin woke me up
I watched this with my 2 year old and at this point she said “That’s what witches say!”
Joe Pasquale wrote the joke
came here to have a good laugh at James Corden's expense. Limmy turns the script. Jokes on me. Really have a lot of growing up to do. Hears hoping
It's not even that good of a joke...which is exactly what I would expect from the kind of writers a half-assed host like Corden would hire.
Corden hasn’t even heard Daft Punk's new single "Get Lucky" ffs
i don't think there's any illusion that talkshow hosts write their stuff. seth meyers for example is always namechecking writers
"I reckon one of the writers 'came up with it' for him, I doubt he would knowingly just copy such a famous stand-up routine word for word like that." - Ricky Gervais
There’s another one - is it one of Noel Fielding’s jokes?
Limmy, the reason i don't like him is because you don't like him, i quite liked him on Gavin and Stacey but i done a complete U-turn since....it's all your fault.
Corden even stole Ricky's laugh
I heard that he stole the script for Gavin & Stacey from a bucket of sh*t he found under a bridge.
I'd genuinely rather watch a bucket of shit.
Has Limmy ever had a chance to express his viewpoint on James Corden’s oscar-winning acting performance in ‘Kill your friends’? Feel like this is untapped territory. Get on it.
wod fe wod
In his first stand-up Gervais tells a story about some fella sh*tting his keks and chucking them out the window of a moving train with the punchline being that he'd picked up a denim jacket as a replacement. The entire routine was lifted directly from an FHM True Stories piece I read in a compendium about five years before.
Always thought this was a Karl story he repurposed
No. He talked about that with Karl on the radio and used it as an example of an old urban myth that was ridiculous to believe.
I always liked Limmy from the random clips I saw of him. But his hatred for James Cordon made become a real fan
He’s a diamond! And we’re mostly carbon remember😉
Say what you want about his Gervais joke but have you heard his original comedy about Tim Westwood and his joints?
Surprised nobody has mentioned the fact that Stewart Lee has claimed for many years that Ricky stole various jokes from him
Can't wait for James Corden to explain that when people believe in God, they have to pick one out of all the gods throughout history. Still as fresh as a daisy.
Corden's tweet honestly sounds even worse to me. "I didn't realize it was from Ricky Gervais." Implies he knew it was from someone, just not from Ricky Gervais. This can be read as, I thought it was from someone else so who cares.
The writer mixup does make sense though. But his post honestly makes it look worse lol
Joe Pasquale walks into a bar.
I’m getting a weird love for James corden purely for this content
It is barely a bit to begin with. Gervais is crap too.
If you watch both performances of the joke they're actually very similar. Watch the body language and facial expressions - Corden had seen it before. He must have thought he could get away with it
I couldn't agree with you more Limmy! More often than not I end up agreeing with your conclusions, as they are usually tempered by the fact that you are willing to admit that you don't know everything about a situation and you try to look at it from different perspectives. I think it's just like you say, James Cordon annoys a lot of people for some reason (is it a kind of smarminess?) and these people are seeking any excuse to pile shit on him and make their dislike of him justified. Serously, does anyone really give a fuck if he, or one of his writers stole a joke from Ricky Gervais? If it was anyone other than James Cordon it wouldn't have been such a big story. He might be a complete cunt, or a really sound bloke, I don't know - only his friends and colleages really know. To go back to the point of the original joke, if people don't like James Cordon, they shouldn't watch his show. Like you say, there are far, far worse people who have been proven to do much worse things than be an annoying late night host who steals material and doesn't appreciate his staff!
The rogue writer theory makes a lot of sense IMO
this reminds me of the brilliant Ricky Gervais story about how he travels in time and tries to have gay sex with a near future version of himself. Brilliant.
Remember that australian guy doing the lee mack crap. People said in comments "ITS ABOUT THE DELIVERY IT DOESNT MATTER IF HE REPEATED THE SAME JOKES". Lol alright..
Limmy is all of us. All of our inner monologue.
Corden also stole Robbie Williams joke, from his interview on The Graham Norton Show. Williams said that, watching his wife giving birth, was like watching his favourite pub burn down.
I am pretty sure Robbie also stole that from someone else though. Although I can't remember who he in turn stole it from as it was years and years before.
@@nurfnurder Probably Gary Barlow

Too far a joke? (my idea was deleted) perhaps, but it was funny. Ok it was th RIP hashtag thing? Jeese ok. Well its a stretch to do it otherwise unless he becomes newsworthy. It's James Cordon of course not.
0:34 GUYS
Bang on 🤣🤣
When James Corden first appeared on the scene he was copying Ricky Gervais a lot. Even David Brent style mannerisms.
I know that I'm late to the party, but even at the time I thought a writer stitched him up - bear in mind, this happened like a week after James Corden actively tried to get his writer's pay reduced.
I think I would have stitched him up if I was one of those writers.
In fairness Gervais basically lifted Pilkington quotes and observations as his own. Also some of his jokes are really old jokes that are in general usage for years.
I've never seen someone make a 20 minute video out of what could have been said in 2 mins!
You've never seen a chael sonnen video then 😂
kina expected more from you these days Limmy. So you're a woke twitcher now? Jeez dude yer older than me man.
James Corden doesn't have his own thoughts or feelings
Woldt fae woldt.
Did I walk into the middle of a conversation with himself?
When Amy Shumer got in trouble for stealing those jokes it was her writers as well "apparently" I dout youd do it on purpose when its so easy to get caught
Maybe Corden's writer also wrote the joke for Gervais.
I only subbed for the limmy/Corden bromance.
Corden’s been stealing Gervais’s laugh for years
Limmy was quite even-handed here. I just think it needed to be noted.
When I was working at the Apple store in regent st 12 years ago I was helping James Corden choose a macbook - there was such a snobby 'I am better than you ' air about him, and had a real unfriendliness about him. I also read an article where Rob Brydon said he took him aside in a restaurant when they were doing that show together, and basically said why are you being such a dick. So that's a bit of first hand evidence. And this was ages ago so I imagine his ego and inauthenticity have bloated tenfold since then.
This Scottish man has some good points.
Ricky gervais stole most of his patter too lmao
There is a simple explanation. Ricky Gervais writes jokes for Corden.
"What does pressure and heat and time create?" ... I was thinking of bread.
Should be titled, "Lynn has her say on the James Corden/Ricky Gervais Patter Theft Scandal"
The writer didn't stitch him. Medical staff couldn't stitch him up after gastric bypass surgery ffs!
Auto generated subtitles are spot on. After Limmy did his Patrick Stewart impression, it just says "foreign".
Gotta say what a rubbish joke
It wasn't even a good joke or argument to steal. That's what I feel nobody is bringing up. It's a shite argument for foregoing any responsibility for what you say to a large audience... And to top it off it's not a particularly funny analogy either. Everybody's out here saying "James Corden, do better" but what about Ricky doing better?
I remember reading an excerpt from Stewart Lee’s memoir and he spoke about Ricky Gervais stealing his schtick and getting recognised for it. And because Lee was more recognised in the scene than elsewhere, people started making comments like oh you must be watching Ricky Gervais. He said Gervais has always been a big fan of his so. I’d look up the quotes from his memoir if anyone is interested. What goes around eh lol
He's had to publicly say how he thinks Gervais is brilliant though, so surely that's going to carry its own connotations and cause even more people not to like him? If I was James I'd be taking any paid work I could get my hands on knowing it was the beginning of the end and if I was some other prick like Russell Howard I'd be hounding my agent to get me seen in the US.
Corden is deliberately avoiding talking HOW he managed to rip off the joke. He hasn't said he absorbed it but then forgot about where it came from and repeated it off the cuff. He hasn't said he was given the joke by a staff writer and didn't know where it came from. He's just saying, "Oops, yeah, it's a Ricky Gervais joke, and SOMEHOW I made a mistake. If you've never heard of him, you should totally check out Ricky Gervais, he's great. Aren't I humble for admitting my mistake and giving a shout-out to someone you already know about and whose joke you already know I blatantly SOMEHOW stole?"
Why do we think Patrick Stewart came out with an attitude towards James Corden? Almost as if he was trying to tell the public something with his attitude towards the guy?
I’m pretty sure Limmy’s writers lifted that diamond bit from Kanye’s Late Registration album. Come clean, mate.
All of the great American comedians - Bob Hope, Jack Benny, George Burns, that kind of era - all had writers. It's not new, it goes back to the dawn of radio ninety years ago. x
I could watch a 4 hour stream of this
Not sure if related, but someone on twitter a while ago said corden went to a meeting so he could argue that writers SHOULD NOT get a pay rise!
He said "guys" with such an English accent lol
Corden has writers?
Ari Shaffir outed Chris Rock a few years ago for having writers nowadays :(
Love limmy, but the man has issues. Veiled bitterness. Also I don't like corden for the same reasons
I think you'll find it's pronouced "SCONOUL'
So was the whole thing just a stunt to advertise Ricky Gervais' specials on netflix?
Fuckin hell, he's nicked a Noel Fielding joke now🤦♂️
Oh you couldn't be more wrong, sir!
Who are the stand ups he says has writers writing their sets do we reckon?
Quite a few of the Live at the Apollo crowd I imagine
He is being more vague and just making an observation that any top comic is likely to have someone
