    Hi! First of all, thanks a looooot for the concise info you talked about in your video. I haven't been able to find someone that explains it so well (at least in english). I believe the efficiency of getting the appointment is now harder than ever (even more now that SEF closed and now all visa and permits issues are taken care by AIMA). I've being trying already 5 months to get it, but I can't seem to move forward with it. Have your heard any recommendations around it? Just keep calling? Thanks again!

    How much is the salary in Portugal for people working in MNC normally maybe customer care/finance entry level/ or backend ? Since I know Portuguese language, Chinese, English and German. Would I be able to get normally 1600 euro?

    Hi Julia, great and informative video indeed. I think you have an amazing personality on camera. Please enlighten me on the following. I was told that applying for a freelancer residence permit or an entrepreneur immigrant residence permit nowadays from within portugal is total madness. They say it could take up to 2 and half years to get an appointment then get the visa processed especially if you’re from a third world African country. I’ll be coming to portugal with a 30 days Schengen visa which will expire about 2-3 weeks after I landed. Is there a way to complete my application within that timeframe? What would you say is the best alternative given how tough it is for third world countries to obtain a Schengen visit visa? Apply from within or apply from outside? Is it correct to assume that if I can’t submit my application or even get an appointment before my schengen visa expires, I become illegal?

    Ola Julia- as an independent contractor, should the Portuguese bank account I open be a personal or business account? I believe for D7 I need to have a business account in the US beforehand, is that correct? Or does it not matter, as long as I have the proof of sufficient means and the contract documentation? Were you using business or personal banking accounts for the proof of sufficient means? And do they only need to see the Portuguese bank account for the sufficient income verification, or will they need to look at your US account as well?
    Obrigada for the videos. Navigating a D7 as a remote worker feels very ambiguous and uncertain. I appreciate you sharing your experience in detail to help illustrate the process.

    • @JuliaRochelleAbroad
      @JuliaRochelleAbroad  2 роки тому

      Hi Cameron, I totally understand the feeling of uncertainty. It's a natural part of the visa process. Hang in there!
      I was an independent contractor and had a personal bank account. You only need to have funds in a Portuguese bank account before you apply for the D7 visa.

    • @JuliaRochelleAbroad
      @JuliaRochelleAbroad  2 роки тому

      So there is a visa and a permit. The D7 visa gets you in the door so to speak and then you convert it to the temporary residence permit, which gets you two years in Portugal. You can renew it for 3 years

    • @JuliaRochelleAbroad

      Hi Mohammed, after arriving to Portugal with the D7 visa, you need to get an appointment with SEF before your visa expires. The actual appointment can be later but you should schedule the appointment as soon as possible. At this appointment you will convert your D7 visa to a temporary residence permit, which lasts 2 years and can be renewed

      @@JuliaRochelleAbroad Many thanks Julia for your clarifications. My question was about Visa D not D7. @@mohammedel-fengour1309 okay, I see. Sorry I didn’t understand before it was the type D student visa. Yes, the work visa can be tricky because you have to secure a job offer and then the employer applies for you to have a work visa. But employers may not be familiar with the process or may not want to do it.
      If you have financial means, you can get a temporary residence permit through the D7 visa and then apply for jobs again.
