I watch each of your videos when they are published. As we have a 2nd home to the west of Shelton, I fly in the same air space when we visit. The area is perfect for IFR currency flying in actual. I’ve copied your approach briefing steps and your color chart annotations. One thing I noticed is your flight director and the nested arrows. I could not fully get used to that depiction so I found it could be switched to the cross hair cues on my G5 which I like much better. I’ve never filed an IFR flight plan through ForeFlight while in the air; great tip as an alternative to a pop up clearance. Thanks for the great content. Best - Joe
I hope you find the videos helpful. My only experience with FDs is with the default setup in the G500Txi and its predecessors, including the mechanical AI/FD that my A36 came with from the factory (KFC 150). The dual cross hair configuration is more common in turbine aircraft, but I prefer the setup that I'm accustomed to. The nice thing about electronic PFDs is that you have options.
Hi - in your Feb 2025 AOPA Pilot article you show screenshots of a Garmin Navigator with Hold Entry and Hold Exit waypoints and with the navigator indicating different fix types by the symbols. I tried loading the approach you showed in the Garmin trainer and it does not show up like that - no different waypoint type symbols. Any ideas why that may be? Thanks much!
Different systems and software versions have different capabilities. The GTN 750Xi with current system software can display fly-by and fly-over symbology. Other systems don't distinguish between the types. That's why it's important to verify how your system will show fixes and, after you enter a flight plan or procedure, confirm the path that the GPS draws.
Great videos. Very useful to track along with you on foreflight.
Thank you for the video. Excellent narrative of you single pilot routine.👍👍
Thanks. I hope to pass along my tips for organized IFR operations.

this isn't important, but I enjoyed hearing you on the radio today (1/26) at BFI, talking to ground as I was heading out.
Thanks. It was busy when I returned from a flight to KKLS and KPWT. I had a long delay getting across the long runway after landing on 32R.

@BruceAirFlying thank you for clarifying!
