I've just started game dev and im pretty lost right now. I'm using godot but im getting stuck on how and where to get 2d sprites, since theres barely any.
I went to check if CastleMancer was on my Steam list... and it was! If possible, and if it’s viable for the channel, I’d like you to make a video explaining the process of registering a game on Steam or recommend a resource that explains each step in detail. Thank you in advance!
At first I was like .. NOOOooo! Then I was like YEEAAah! Everything you said made alot of sense, it breaks my wee heart to see people give up on their Projects.. but you've done the right thing, the first Project must've been an AMAZING learning experience and it will add so much to the next Project with all you've gained :D Love it Bro! Keep up the awesome work 😎
People who publish anything online are the ones to stay, in some form. Most of the mass are doing it in silence & quit the same. You'll never hear from them. Not just quitting a project but game dev itself. It's often not worth it, especially when now "everyone" does it & the market is flooded.
I watch and enjoy your content from a very long time ago. Your videos have both motivational and demotivational effect on me :D In reality I feel you're being honest with your experience and I'm thankful for that : )
Just turn it into a straightforward game. You’ve already got the assets and code-it’s like repurposing leftovers! Use the best parts, throw out the junk, and whip up something fresh on the side. Honestly, if you can’t make it work with what you already have... maybe it’s time to call it “Early Access” and let the players finish it for you!

I remember watching that original video.. it's been cool to see the growth and change in all the gamedev youtubers over time
Glad you stuck around haha!

itch and opengameart are places where you can get a lot of them.
Try looking up cc0 pixel art sprites! If that doesn’t work for you i would recommend asperite or libresprite.
:)
@@daveydawn4179 Yea, I started making my own its not too hard, im using templates to help and get what style i want
I would say itch.io is a great place to find 2d assets! Good luck!
