I see the first pics are already out, when 6 of the 650 Classic bikes were photographed in the North of England this week. All of them were production models, registered for the road, not pre production models.
Since it will be based on the Super Meteor 650, weight will be much higher than with the Classic 350. Maybe the Interceptor 650 could be an alternative…
I have the same bike here in the states... Great choice. I have always ridden Hondas, but I love the looks and simplicity of the Classic 350. It is perfect for country road riding. I do take the big Hondas if traveling the interstate, but I prefer the back roads and the relaxing mood this bike generates... nothing to prove, just enjoy the single cylinder sound and scenery you become part of. The chrome bronze is a real head turner too... always gets attention from those who remember the old all metal bikes.
Great review and You are absolutely right: if the bike had 30 hp instead of 20, it would be just perfect. On the other hand, I wonder if 30 hp would require the 6th gear?
Great video, a genuinely honest review, like you I find the only downside is a 20bhp engine -- 30 would be so much better. Having said that I've used mine on the Spanish motorways at the cruising speeds of 80 -- 100 kms/hr and its okay until a slightly faster lorry overtakes me and then goes slowly up a hill so I have to overtake it again etc. My mirrors only vibrate at 70 -- 80 kms/hr after that they are rock solid and the same at lower speeds. I've recently returned from a camping trip on the Costa Brava and it performed excellently approx 320 kms each way without a stop on the return, in four and a half hours, used only just over 9 litres of petrol -- still can't believe how good that is. However even with the touring seat it was hard on my butt after 2 hours and an absolute pain after that.🤣🤣🤣 I came down to this bike as I'm in my mid 70's now and my 2017 Triumph T120 Bonneville was getting too heavy for me, it was okay on the move but getting difficult to manoeuvre around my garage etc. Shame as I really loved the Bonnie but had to be sensible.
Thanks for your feedback. I agree concerning the seat. I always ride with an air pillow on long rides. Fuel consumption is great for touring. I also came from a Bonnie 900 and changed to the Royal Enfield. Have a safe ride.
Or you could fit the Bullet touring seat, I did and it’s superbly comfortable. A 77 mile visit to my Brother this week and by the time I returned home 6 hours later I had covered 180 miles in total comfort 😊
@@Peter234100 Yes I saw a video on UA-cam by Glyn Owen about the Bullet touring seat which is better padded and more important for me at only 5'-8" on a good day it would be better for 'flat footing' Only one problem , its not available here in Spain and its not showing on Hitchcock's website.
This is the bike I’m currently shopping for here in the US. I have been fortunate in that I can own multiple bikes for different types of riding. I have my all purpose VStrom 1000, a dual sport XR650 for short range exploring, an XR150L that is my rv travel bike, but I love the styling and ride characteristics of the RE Classic. I like the laid back, easy going nature of this bike! I’m looking for one with the same color scheme as yours. I really enjoy your presentation style: knowledgeable and friendly! Great work!
They need a big brother, the Classic 650, with all the charm and personality of the little 350, but also having that extra umph for long-distance riders. For example, here in Canada, you can get around on back roads, but most of the major roads through cities are 100km/hr zones where you need to keep up with traffic doing 120ish. I'm still buying a 2024 model in the spring though, the new colors are incredible. Emerald Green for me.
I have always thought that the engine would be perfectly OK for the riding that I do. The only problem for me is that I am 6'4'' tall and I want a bigger frame for comfort. I am surprised that RE have not made a physically larger version for the western market where riders tend to be much taller than many in Asia.
Hello Mark. Thanks for your videos of the RE classic 350. Will you test the decat pipe? Or what is your opinion about it. I already bought the DNA filter and appreciated your tutorial.
Pure class wins over ass every time. The name says it all - Classic 350. Royal Enfield really needs to put tubeless spoke wheels on it for both safety and style reasons. I hate tubes. Again, this bike is GORGEOUS! Thank you, my friend! SS in commiefornia, USA.
Hello Marc, may I ask where I can buy these additional stickers (Royal Enfield logo with British flag) for the side covers of the Classic 350? Many thanks and best regards Martin
@@Marc.Stones Hello Marc, thank you very much for your quick reply. I assume there are two stickers. One is the Enfield Reddich sticker and the other is the British flag, right? I need them for my Classic 350 in Chrome Red, I think 🙂.Many thanks and best regards Martin
hi mark. got a 350 meteor and its great for the country lanes, get one now if you are thinking about it as the next batch of Enfield's are going to be water cooled and i don't want one of those
Hi marc, I have got the classic 350 signals and have made a short screen but looking at a touring screen you had, have you taken yours off for the summer?
There are lots of 650's already another one will not impress. An air cooled only 750 with the exact same geometry as the 350 would be more... iconic?? Anyway RE made a 750 twin back in the day for the American Market so it is time for that not another oil cooler 650 that looks like a Meteor. Thanks for the show.
Sorry, I just don't get the fascination for riding these under powered asthmatic motorcycles when for not much more money you can buy a bike that is more powerful exciting and fun to ride? I would rather buy a mint 10-15 years old bike with a lot more performance and better handling.
@@Marc.Stones For sure. I realise this, but I still don't understand the popularity or following these bikes have? I like to be able to get a move on when riding a motorcycle. I don't mean riding like a lunatic, overtaking quickly and safely, etc. being safe on an autobahn or motorway or big road. No way is this bike safe to take on a big fast road. For everyone who is not happy with the 20HP there will be a Royal Enfield Classic 650 coming out soon. More power, but for sure also more heavy. 🙂

Why can't they just bring back the 500 Classic?
The 650 will be a twin. Different bike altogether. Now a 650 single that has the same design as the 350 Classic would sell millions.
Since it will be based on the Super Meteor 650, weight will be much higher than with the Classic 350. Maybe the Interceptor 650 could be an alternative…
The Classic looks great and 20 HP and 27 nm of torque are enough for relaxed cruising.
