There's three other videos from this busking session, all great, all full of surprises. After this one, they did:
2) War Pigs
3) Watch Out (Big Push original)
4) Paint It Black
All of them are just as good as this.
Awesome thanks! I'm on it man! Ya had me at War Pigs!!
Great reaction, from America, 55 yrs old and have been listening to Ren and friends for almost a year. He is my favorite musical artist hands down and I have been banging his number 1 album "sick boi" since I got it in the mail a few days ago. I have all his CDs, with this new one it makes 4 total. I try my best to spread the Ren gospel here in Minnesota/Wisconsin. He is gifted and a special artist. I haven't seen an (all around) talented artist of his caliber in many years. He is in his own lane with nobody close currently. If he didn't get sick and have his career crushed he would be a super star today. He is just built different than the regular artist. The rappers out there today are really a dime a dozen.
Oh hey thanks! He is an all around talent. I can't think of another artist who has his story telling abilities and the single take video's are absolutely a work of art. He is an will be one of the greats. Thanks for watching from this side of the pond!
LOVE Big Push and Ren. First heard him (and them) about 6 months ago and he completely changed my musical life. He is now my favorite artist (and I'm 53), and the Big Push became my favorite band (at 53)! So freaking talented. And all 4 of the members are equally so talented with no egos. Love how they switch who sings and who plays what guitar. They are so good. I am going to subscribe in hopes you do more. Oh, and Ren has literally said in his interviews what you are describing. He calls it mirror neurons. Where if he can engage one or two people and they start letting loose, that gives others the space to let loose. Check out his interview with Zach Sang show where he describes this very phenomenom!
Yes mirror neurons. I couldnt think of it during the reaction!
This is a great performance but my favourite is their version of Wade In The Water/ Trouble So Hard/ Nina Simone.
Its very blusey and soulful and Rens voice is incredible on that one.
Enjoyed ya reaction 👍
Oh thanks! I will have to get it on the list, I really appreciate the recommendation!
The “Wade in the Water” performance is one of my favourite The Big Push busking videos too; the other is the “Painted Black” cover by the band.
Absolutely amazing performance!!
There's actually 4 songs in this mashup:
1)I Shot The Sheriff: Bob Marley
2) Road to Zion: Damien "Jr Gong" Marley (Bob's son)
3) A Little Bit Of Luck: DJ Luck and MC Neat
4) Hip Hop: Dead Prez
Hope that helps!
It does, thank you. I'm learning. trying to expand my musical pallet.
Great reaction
What amazes me how they where playing to about 250 people so basically it was a street concert rather than busking
He's said that why he prefers to do his videos.with live singing because of busking
All of these guys are such talented individuals. I will be reacting to more from The Big Push. Hopefully when Ren is feeling better they reunite for a few more.
Great reaction from the UK 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching from across the pond!
Great reaction 👍. If you haven't already please try Romain's retake of the classic GEORGIA ON MY MIND Busking solo 🎵🎶🍯🔥🤌🙏✌️
Thank you. I have not reacted to Romain but I will definitely add it to my list of upcoming reactions. Thanks for watching!
This is my favourite performance of theirs followed by
Wade in The Water/Nina Simone/ Trouble So Hard
Swan Song
Sweet little lady (studio and live)
Englishman in New York
Why My Woman
Ren has a talent for words! And a talent for music! And a talent for drama. He also has a talent for attracting others to work with him, to do the jobs where a one man band can't. and they work amazingly well. May Ren go from strength to strength. 70yr Englishman.
Well said sir, thanks for watching!
👌
Very nice reaction. A cover of Bob Marley is absolutely reggae. There is a huge Jamaican population in Britain (Jamaica - a colony) & Ren obviously loves that sound. Even his accent is perfect! You hear that influence in a lot of his music. Other commenters have recommended the other songs in this session & Wade In The Water. Don't miss the Manu Chau cover of Bongo Bong, Sting cover of Englishman in New York, Fat Boy Slim cover of Praise You & Nancy Sinatra/Stones/Blues Bros. cover of These Boots/Satisfaction/Everybody. And don't miss their originals - Swan Song & It's Alright are 2 of their earliest, Watch Out (the 1 with the little badass on a skateboard), Xbox Marijuana, Oh My Woman is great fun. Also great, Ren & Sam Thompkins doing Earned It/Man's World/Falling, Improvising Around Stevie Wonder & original Blind Eyed (Music Crown session). Enjoy!
Thanks for the suggestions. I will be working through these for sure. Thanks for watching!!
I agree with you on the busking crowds thing but this is a bit different. the band used to send out messages and texts to people and let them know they would be on Ship Street or wherever at a certain time and that is where a lot of these people come from. also of course, people just stopping did swell the crowd a bit.
Ok cool, that's info I didn't have. Thanks for sharing!
I particularly like their rendition of "An Englishman in New York".
I think the work "The" is included in the name of the band. You seemed to have separated it from the name, for some reason......?
It is not "the mental" behind the busking which appeals to him. I think he describes it as the (natural) dopamine hit which comes from a crowd forming. I may be wrong, but that is what I have understood from hearing him explain it.
As mentioned by others, 4 songs. I have forgotten to mention "A little bit of Luck" on occasion, myself!
Off to see what you suggested.
Thanks for watching and for the informative comment. Its Mirror Neurons that I couldnt think of. He refers to it as mirror neurons that cause others to feel free to do the same as some the few that join the busking sessions :)
Love your reaction to Ren and that you actually checked out his interviews good on you!
thank you for continuing to react and support my favourite artist ever and his band ❤❤
Absolutely, more to come from his time with The Big Push. Thanks for watching my reaction to their amazing work.
Watch them do What Kind of Woman Is This 😁

I may need to bump this one up my list as I am eager to hear it. Stay tuned!
