Probably on your list already to check out, but Bongo Bong is another brilliant cover by them. A song I had never heard before. Another live one (no crowd), just the lads making chemistry on a roof top in Brighton.
Your comments on the organic talent of these four incredible musicians is bang on. These guys are close friends and it is obvious in the way they are able to take cues and allow each other to shine at their particular moment. It is such a tragedy that the band had to break up due to Ren’s Lyme disease treatment in Canada. I hope they are able to get together again in a reunion. Great reaction!
I’m not a musician so I really enjoy your reactions. You have the same enthusiasm as me but can dig deeper and explain aspects to what is going on that I would ordinarily miss. On a side note you mentioned you weren’t sure of the geography of England. Ren was actual born in North Wales where I live, he went to the same school as my kids. He moved to Brighton which is south of London where he busked after busking in the Bristol area, look up Trick the Fox on Wikipedia. Ren and The Big Push have an amazing selection of songs from varying genres well worth checking out. I believe Ren is a very special talent, a rare diamond and we are super proud of him here. As I write this Hi Ren has topped 20 million views in 9 months, unbelievable. Let’s hope the album gets the sales and recognition it deserves when it drops on Friday. 👍
Just to clear a little thing up, I'm pretty sure Ren has been cured of limes disease after receiving stem cell surgery in the states, he's receiving treatment for what he was left with, auto immunity and brain damage.
@@themojoslide I believe you are right. The damage done by the untreated Lyme disease has been extensive and includes mast cell activation disorder. His stay in Calgary has been extended for an extensive antibiotic treatment. Thanks for clarifying.
Both Ren & Romain have given interviews saying everybody’s open to playing together again when the time is right (Romain said he was sure of it). Patience grasshoppers, patience!
6:57... the moment when it begins to dawn on any Ren fan just discovering The Big Push for the first time, that Ren... despite the unbelievable depth of talent and *feel* he's just exhibited as a guitar player... is still NOT the lead guitarist of The Big Push... ♥ It's hard to describe to new Ren fans how important The Big Push is. No one has ever heard of them because Ren basically couldn't tour so they only busked, and the massive bulk of internet buzz about them is... over their cover songs (because they do AMAZING things to other people's music) and NONE of that makes sense to anyone that the band would be anything special. In fact, Romain & Gorran (and probably Glen the drummer too, but I don't know much about him yet) are INCREDIBLE musicians and songwriters (as you will now discover going forward) and they aren't just "whatever half-decent guitarists Ren could find to back him up." They all respect each other's talents immensely and Ren literally steps back to give them space at the front because *they* "make" The Big Push what The Big Push is, almost as much as he does. He's the obvious front man because of his unreal charisma (and he *probably* has the best/most flexible voice?) but he wants THEM to get turns singing too, and he wants to do THEIR original songs along with his, and he wants to let Gorran get to play guitar too (so he plays bass!) I've never seen it, but I'm told Glen the drummer is actually a bassist (and before they found Glen, Ren played drums... on their early recordings, I guess?). I love watching Glen being SUPER careful/intentful with his drum kit to not overpower what Ren's doing, in that opening stripped-down intro verse of Sheriff. edit: I really hope you get to do some interviews because I'm 100% convinced that you'd bring out some SUPER interesting conversations from artists/people in the industry.
Thank you! I appreciate that. Yeah, probably the first thing I noticed was that this is a 'band', not a Ren support act, but a cohisive, complimentary group of like minded musicians. There is a tangible, deep respect, between them. You can tell by the way the all seem to having a blast.
@@PrymalChaos They have a song called Dignity where Romain sings the verses and Ren sings the chorus, and the video is a retrospective of clips of them having fun together with and without their instruments. It brings tears to my eyes every time, and for once it's mostly not the lyrics - it's watching how good they were together, and knowing that they've gone their separate ways. I know Ren's said they left it open that they might work together again; it was his unpredictable health & the opportunity to try treatment in Calgary that led to them disbanding... but it can be VERY hard to pick up where you left off when life has taken each of them to wildly different places (physical and metaphorical) in the intervening months. No matter how good they were together, is it the right thing for Ren to reunite with them, even if it was an amazing collaboration before he left the UK? Even if reforming the band would present incredible opportunities for the other guys (re: their profile on the world stage as musicians), where has life taken Gorran and Glen in the interim (Romain moved immediately into working on a solo career so he's still "in the game"); just because you wanted your band to get big when you were together doesn't mean you're ready/able to throw yourself back into it after a lengthy break that you all knew could be permanent. Anyway. Nothing to do but sit back and enjoy what they left us, and whatever they gift to us solo or in any collaborative capacity that comes about, through the years ahead of us. ❤️
@@rebeccaburnell9319 I read Glen married and was living in Thailand. Goran went travelling (busking) around Europe. Hopefully they are all living their best lives.
You would love their version of War Pigs on the same day! some of their harmonies are amazing as well,Praise you Fat boy Slim cover or Swan song so beautiful! An Englishman in New York has a Jazzy flair.
Yessssss! Do their Warpigs medley next if you want more of this crazy fun energy 😊 All members are very talented, but you can’t deny that they have one hell of a charismatic frontman. There is just something about Ren. One of the things that makes him so special is his range. From high to low notes, across genres and multiple instruments, and the range of emotions he shares and evokes in all of us. I’m pretty sure music is just part of him. Like how the human body is made up of 60% water, Ren just replaced some of it with music 😂
Love your reactions because you have experience & intelligence. Please, please continue into The Big Push catalog: "Wade In The Water/Nina Simone/Trouble So Hard", "Bongo Bong", "Englishman In New York", "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'/Satisfaction/Everybody", "Sweet Little Lady", "Swan Song" (their 1st video) & "Praise You" just for a start. Thank you!
Their harmonies in Praise You and their own composition Swan Song are beautiful. Watching again 2 weeks on, if you want to hear his low register, Man's World in the medley he did with Sam Tompkins is out of this world !
I was so happy to see you do this one. It's a nice change from all of the heavy ones you have done lately. I swear, every time these young men play together it's like a celebration of music. Thank you, this was a wonderful way to start my day.
I really enjoyed watching you discover this! If Ren ever gets fully better and stay back home for a while, I'm hoping the Big Push reform. Ren has advised he would like that, and we would all love it :)
The organic nature of music description you were giving made me think of trying to learn a foreign language. At beginner levels, you have to translate the foreign language into your native tongue to understand, but once you become fluent, your brain actually thinks in the new tongue (I only had this happen very briefly once, but lost it from not using the 2nd language at all). I very strongly thought of jazz musicians right before you mentioned that. It does seem crazy that such an incredibly symbiotic grouping of musicians from the soul came together in Brighton.
100% Music is 100% language. I've played piano for 44 years (with some experience with French horn, orchestral percussion, choral singing, and Baroque recorder) and I'm also French-English bilingual. My brain flows on its own language track when I'm playing music that feels very much like when I settle in to conversing in French (my 2nd spoken language).
Loved this! Glad you got around to checking out the big push, their cover of War Pigs from this same set is also amazing and i think youd love it since its rock/metal 😁💜💜
A lot of 70s rock bands, eg Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple etc used to give a different show every night too. In fact live jams have been a strong vein at the heart of rock for most of it's history
You're right! I feel like it's becoming more rare due to the live production standards these days. If you're a major touring artist, everything is synched to a clock so that your light and audio visual production (and backing track) can all be locked in. There's no room for improv. That said, that's most of the mainstream major touring acts, you can still find acts that keep it more analogue, you just have to look for them I guess.
For me the Big Push is pure joy, the joy of playing music, the joy of working together, the joy of being together on another plain and the joy of sharing this with those around them. And it was a joy to see your response to their music. Thank you
Dude he has a couple of other videos doing I shot the sheriff and they are all different!!! It’s definitely an art that speaks to his soul! That guitar is an extension of his body they are basically doing a duet together!!!❤they do a call and answer❤ everything he does is like a dance with his art! And the inspiration that he has given to not only me but to millions of people around the world I’m just in awe. It’s so beautiful to be a part of this journey
This has to be in the conversation of being the best cover/mash up of all time. I doubt anyone else played their stuff on fairly basic gear in the street.... Epic! Same day they cover Warpigs, I which they do as a maashup of Paranoid, Crazy Train and Killing In the name of, highly recommended you check that out too
Hahaha. Just to be clear, I didn't mean that you can't be an incredible musician if "the guitar is playing you" in this analogy. In fact many of the world's foremost guitarists would fall into this category. I just meant that you can play from the heart or the mind. Either way works, but when someone really plays from the heart you can feel it.
I have seen the Big Push on the streets of Brighton,it's a seaside town and I was totally gob smacked it was absolutely astounding 😊I went to see them everyday I was in holiday🎉
I’m not a musician WHAT SO EVER, but watching passion exude through his physical expressions when he does these live performances, gives you a sense for his love and passion of music. Very definite differentiation of performers and artists. He’s a true artist, consumed by his passion for music and it beams from his performances.
That's wild. It's cool to watch his career blow up in real time. Theres something so honest an organic about it. Kinda makes all the mainstream manufactured artists seem like they're in a different business.
This is in Brighton. You are completely correct that some people just have something extra special inside them. Think about jazz artists like Miles Davis and John Coletrane. Or Michael Jackson. Even Tyler Joseph with Twenty One Pilots, you listen to his high school recordings and you can see he has that special thing. And it is obvious every time Ren opens his mouth--just wow.
"Singing to hear the sound" is exactly right. For me it feels like when you drive on auto-pilot and realize 3/4 of the way home that you hadn't paid attention to a single turn you've made for the past 10 minutes. If I'm recording myself, I always know those are going to be the best takes. My brain doesn't engage my vocal chords or shape my mouth, the song does.
Immediately after this set, they went into a War Pigs (Black Sabbath cover) mashup. Listen for the band's comments at the beginning. 🤣 My other favorite Big Push performance (not busking in this one) is a cover of Sting's Englishman in New York - which I actually like more than the original! 💞
I was actually gonna mention something along the lines of "not since the Police have there been a bunch of white boys from the UK delivering such a loving homage to the Reggae genre.."
Busking was perfect for Ren with being able to perform when he was feeling well. He will still have flares of autoimmunity when he will be out of it. One reason he will never do a full tour type of performing. His health just won't allow it. He loves busking. He would get swamped now though. It will be amazing to see how his creativity crafts a successful career for himself. I kbiw he wants to do a Netflix series, where he writes, performs and directs a type of dark musical.
Great reaction ! The Big Push have incredible energy, all very talented muscians with a frontman who oozes charisma. This was in Brighton, Ren's adopted hometown, on the south coast of England
Dude at the start when you said how he listens and makes the sounds he wants. That's literally how he explained how he self taught himself, he'd find the sound he wanted, learn it
Yeah. Ren demonstrating that the guitar is just an extension of his body! One reactor said he's making the guitar sing as if another set of vocal chords. The diversity he displays here is really showcasing the depth and breadth of his talent. On which topic; my own view is that 'one' can study theory and technique for years, but unless you are born with music in your bones! you will always and only be a great 'technician'. We immediately know the difference when we hear it. Soul speaks to soul. They're all great musicians in their own right, and since the band breaking up last year have gone on to pursue solo careers. However with Ren's rise, a lot of interest has been floating about this band getting back together and I gather they are open to that in some form. So we shall wait to see!
Smiled my ass off hearing somebody gush about this performance the way I do in my head. This video makes me sad - sad that I will never get to stand on that street corner and watch this kind of greatness. Everything you had to say about it I agree with entirely. In listening to Ren I have heard bits of everything I've ever loved in music over the last 4 decades, across every freaking genre of music. Legends...every single one of these guys.
My 23 year old son was shopping in Brighton, our closest city, south coast of England, and he saw this performance, I didn't know until one day he saw me watching a rection video to it and told me he was there. I also like Ren's War Pigs from the same session. #HOGUK
Although these are covers, it's a great video to react to when you're relatively new to _Ren,_ mainly because his new album is hip-hop/rap, so most _Ren_ introductions are of that. But with this you can compare to the original tracks and hear how good his vocals and guitar playing are. He has stated his next album will be mostly singing and real instruments.
I could see in your face exactly how I felt when I heard this for the first time--and every time since. There are "list videos" showing the "top ten best live rock performances in history" and the like, but for me, few live performances are as kinetic, raw, inviting, immersive as this one (or their Wade in the Water mashup, Lonely Boy/Paint it Black, War Pigs, on and on). The first time I watched TBP's I Shot the Sheriff, I found myself saying, "Yeah, we've GOT to keep on moving on the road to Zion!" When the song was over and I came out of my trance, I thought, "What the hell is the road to Zion?" 😂 Edit: When I said "kinetic, raw, inviting, immersive," I was searching for just the right word. A few minutes later it came to me: intimate!
Love this masterpiece. Never get tired of watching it. To me, with great artists like Ren he doesn’t play the music, the music comes through him, through his soul.
Prymal, this was so good 😭 Saw you getting hit again by his sheer artistry and I'm a _little_ disappointed that you didn't become overwhelmed and start crying like I always do 😆 thanks for the shout-out and yes! - we wanna get Ren on your channel too 🙌
East coast Canada has a busking scene. You get a license from the city and they have areas you play. Especially the on waterfront. Busking festival with performers around the world. It's a lot of fun
Another one of Ren's famous and spectacular busking video's is titled (Ren & Sam Tompkins Earned It/Mans World/Falling). It's a fantastic mash-up of The Weeknd/James Brown/Alicia Keys with Sam and Ren slaying it, taking turns on the lead mic while Ren shows his skills on his telecaster, it's definitely must see viewing & I hope you post it soon my friend.🤞 Cheers 😁❤❤🎉
All these musicians in this band are completely, incredibly, super amazing!!! I recently heard their cover of Guns Of Brixton, by The Clash!! Whoooo!! That and their version of War Pigs!! (Black Sabbath) which is what they play straight after this very video!! Same session!!I can’t imagine you wouldn’t love these both!!!!
Rens real origin story is his uni days and band Trick The Fox, and him Busking on his own & finding his buddy Sam busking. Their duets are legendary and they wrote a song that went viral called Blind eyed. Then he went through debilitating sickness for 7 years, got 2 experimental stem cell transplants and managed to finally move to Brighton and meet these guys 😊
Corey, I've been with you since your first Dimash reaction, and I've watched all of your Ren reactions. I'm SO glad you made your way to The Big Push. Their catalogue is both deep and wide. More please.
How did I miss this one, I'm supposed to be getting notifications... anyway, great as always, I'm very happy you got to Big Push finally, "I shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion" is a must do! ❤
The Big Push has quite many songs with Gorran as singer. An example is Paint it black from the same busking session. He is really good to, with a classic rock voice
You are 💯 % spot on with your reaction to the Big Push and the level of their musicianship and dynamics! Talented people combining together to create music makes this band special! Did I mention Ren's skill at being master of so many styles of music? Love this medley 😊🎉
I put this on repeat on my big stereo sytem the night I first watched it. Nothing is better than being out shopping or walking, and coming across really good live music unexpectedly. It's like the sun comes out and everything feels *more*. I miss it a lot. Ren is playing guitar with his soul, indeed. I'm glad you saw it right away! He can't *not* make music. It's inside him everywhere. Glad you mentioned the Buckley influences, too. It's a beautiful thing to think his music and techniques may have inspired Ren. He hasn't said as much, but it's clear. ❤
Ren did say that he's inspired by Buckley! He's cited Chris Liepe's videos analysing Buckley's vocals, as being really important to his own development as a vocalist, so you're 100% right! 👍
@@rebeccaburnell9319 I must've missed that. How cool! I could hear and see it so clearly, but it's not a copy. It's Ren showing the same innate feeling and soul. The same improv skills, the same winding, sometimes discordant journey he takes you on. The blurring of genres. It feels wonderful to see that again in someone. Wasn't sure I ever would!
I think this is the first of your reactions I have seen although I think you did a Sleep Token one (my fave band) so I’m gonna have a nosey in a min but I’m defo subbing after that!! I’m so glad you brought up about how he emotes while playing. It is like he and the guitar become one and I think it is beautiful to see. He IS music. I love his trailing vibrato and like you said his huskiness is stunning. His range is incredible and I love his scatting! Everything he does while singing/rapping/playing is impeccable. I always copy and paste info about Ren and a song list on the first reactions I see of peoples to Ren so you may know it all but hey ho. It is a very long song list but can I pls pls suggest checking out these 3 first as they show 3 more sides to Rens voice and guitar/bass playing. 🖤 The Big Push - Wade in the Water/Nina Simone/Trouble So Hard The Big Push - Swan Song The Big Push - Englishman in New York Welcome to the Renaissance! Ren is my favourite artist of all time. I say artist because he is a multifaceted diamond! From singing (all styles) to rapping (bars/flows/schemes for days), Bardcore (story telling) beatbox, makes his own beats, scatting and a multi instrumentalist (guitars, bass, drums, melodica and more). On top of that he is the most beautiful human being inside and out who has been through and continues to go through absolute hell. He’s 33 from Anglesey, Wales originally but spent most his life in Brighton, England. He’s been living in Calgary, Canada all year receiving intense medical treatment for his brain damage and mast cell activation disorder amongst other things. He started off making beats at 12 and selling CDs then moved on to busking. He was part of a band called Trick The Fox and was signed to Sony but they didn’t renew the contract after his health deteriorated. He then started The Big Push. They went on hiatus the end of last year after 5 years partly due to his move to Canada and also because the other members are also soloists and were moving around too. Yep - there's NOTHING ELSE like Swan Song anywhere in music Ren's been involved with (that I know of, anyway). Super worth looking for early on in exploring The Big Push's catalogue. 👍
This was undeniably a special sunny day in Brighton for these 4.... I definitely recommend catching the "War Pigs" (Sabbath/Ozzy mashup with a crowd-pleasing surprise ending) followed immediately by the "Paint It Black" closer from the same set. #Special ;) p.s. I hadn't seen that Matt Corby live vid- cheers for that!
Ren is also influenced by Jeff Buckley .Ren also has some great improvision with Sam Tompkins and Chinchilla in her one street performance . Both are proformances I would give my eye teeth to have heard live .
Sending you a shitload of mental hugs brother. Ren turns 34 in March. You could read a bit about his fight and journey, you have a similar story and might be able to relate big time. I think you need to keep letting yourself feel all these emotions so you can start unloading some of that immensely intensity. Seeing you feeling so deeply shows you have a beautiful soul. ❤
They are in Brighton, it's a beautiful seaside communiity. Ren is shooting up the charts and doing suoer. I do hope he will get back with the Big Push when his medical care is finished.
The Big Push are pure artistry! I’ve got a huge soft spot for Romain, just like Ren, he has a special connection with his guitar and he produces some freaking beautiful music, it’s well worth checking out his solo stuff. Give me a live performance over studio and radio cuts any day! As always thanks for your honest, articulate and knowledgeable reaction. 🖤
Love your reactions- love the depth you go into and seeing the enjoyment on your face and in your voice 😊 In the begging of falling in the rabbit hole, I think I must have watched this version at least 100 times, and then with the reactors. 😅 so so so good ❤
Daaaaamn, had no idea Matt Corby had those kinda chops. In my conceit I had him pigeonholed as a (albeit effing talented) folk singer. Guess you could do the same with Ren if you only caught the “popular” songs and didn’t go down the rabbit hole. This is why I love your analysis videos man - thanks!
I believe you would be great at doing interviews. I would certainly watch that. I ask that you get what you need and maybe a little of what you want, take care sir...
This group could have been bigger than the Stones if they had been able to stay together; yet each of the members is wildly talented and different. I enjoy watching each as they produce their individual music nowadays. It's wild how different their styles are and how they melded into an even greater whole.
These guys are so incredibly talented and so in sync with each other! I can’t imagine just walking down the street and happening to run into a performance like this ❤. If you haven’t checked out Swan Song or Englishman in New York, you absolutely should. War Pigs is also incredible. Great reaction ❤
Hey y'all, food for thought..since Ren is originally from Wales, and he speaks a bit of Welsh (and yes, it is a different language from English), this is likely a contributing factor to why Ren's articulation of what is presumably a strictly 'island sound' in actuality is more closely related to one another much more than many might previously have thought. A majority of the Caribbean islands, including Jamaica, were populated by slaves who first traversed through the 'slave depots', where they were inhumanely held for periods of time like chattel, until they were 'ready for transport' intercontinentally. Although rarely recounted in history books, the fact is that those depots were predominantly located in England, Scotland, and Wales. It is a little discussed dark bit of history regarding the UK's full influence as a driving force in the propogation of chattel slavery for profit. Even as England banned slavery more than 50 years before The States, it continued to 'service' this pipeline internationally for many more decades to come. Thus, for a large period of time, the first introduction of English to these enslaved island people was in fact strongly articulated with a brogue or Highlands accent..so though I'm certain Ren is paying homage to Marley, the accent isn't inauthentic or overtly dramatized, but in fact the continuation of an ancient dialect, just delivered over time from different geographical regions and cultural adaptations. 🌈ᥫ᭡
First video from you that I've ever seen and I don't often hit the sub button on youtube at all, but it's an easy decision to do so this time, just by this video alone. Excellent reaction, love your voice and how you show appreciation to the music and artists, also loved hearing about Matt Corby for the first time and I'm definitely going to check them out! And about wishing that your channel would further evolve, I know that Ren himself is a very down-to-earth dude that might do an interview with you even if you don't have a huge following, he says that about the people he makes music with as well, as long as he loves what they do he's in 100%. And I don't see how anyone wouldn't love what you do here.
Thank you! I appreciate your support and your incredibly flattering words. Welcome. I’ve done quite a few Ren reactions, also Chinchilla. If you search my channel you’ll find em.

@@PrymalChaosYES! Trick The Fox is from before/just as he was getting sick, while he was in college I think. People often refer to that era as Baby Ren. Acoustic/folk pop, charming stuff from before he went thru hell. And if you do TtF's Mashup, you can then do Ren + Sam Tompkins' busking video titled "Improvising Around Stevie Wonder" and be blown away by Baby Ren evolving into Ren who's helping other amazing artists on their path to break big.
As a guitarist you would really appreciate them playing Bongo Bong (a Manu Chau cover).

6:57... the moment when it begins to dawn on any Ren fan just discovering The Big Push for the first time, that Ren... despite the unbelievable depth of talent and *feel* he's just exhibited as a guitar player... is still NOT the lead guitarist of The Big Push... ♥
It's hard to describe to new Ren fans how important The Big Push is. He's the obvious front man because of his unreal charisma (and he *probably* has the best/most flexible voice?) but he wants THEM to get turns singing too, and he wants to do THEIR original songs along with his, and he wants to let Gorran get to play guitar too (so he plays bass!)
I've never seen it, but I'm told Glen the drummer is actually a bassist (and before they found Glen, Ren played drums... on their early recordings, I guess?).
@@malman6672 yep, they're both amazing! And Swan Song, in particular, is like nothing else we've seen Ren touch.
@@rebeccaburnell9319 I read Glen married and was living in Thailand. Goran went travelling (busking) around Europe. Hopefully they are all living their best lives.
Ren just oozes music from every pore in his body!
You would love their version of War Pigs on the same day! some of their harmonies are amazing as well,Praise you Fat boy Slim cover or Swan song so beautiful! An Englishman in New York has a Jazzy flair.
You forgot Bongo Bong!
"War Pigs" is the next song.
One of my favs is their cover of “An English Man in New York” by Sting 🎶
I’m not a guitar player but I can ‘hear’ his soul through his opening as you say.
Yessssss! Do their Warpigs medley next if you want more of this crazy fun energy 😊
All members are very talented, but you can’t deny that they have one hell of a charismatic frontman.
Haha. Yeah that sounds about right! If only he could donate it for transfusions, I'll take two pints!
You're spot on about his connection to the guitar. It seems more like an extra set of vocal chords for him than it does a mechanical instrument.
The Big Push doing a cover of Bongo Bong is so fun!!!
Thank you!
I can't wait to see him hit the Wade in the Water video...
I'll get there.. I only ask for your patience. 😉
This!
So agree with this comment.👍💕🦇
Btw- Ren is an Independent artist also. No mainstream label for him
Their harmonies in Praise You and their own composition Swan Song are beautiful.
I hope so too!
That Big Push vibe & playing is FLAWLESS!!
Imagine coming upon them in the streets. 'U lucky lucky people!!!' -Tyers O'Flaherty
Awesome reaction, definitely need to do the War Pigs medley from the same session! The range these guys cover is insane 😮
I love that their song choices seem to be really diverse.
Bam! That's a perfect analogy! Thank you.
100%
Music is 100% language.
They have an original called Watch Out. It’s great.
I have been very lucky to stumble across amazing buskers in several big cities in the world, I wish it could have been Ren,
Yeah. Imagine just walking by and there is The Big Push just jamming!
For me the Big Push is pure joy, the joy of playing music, the joy of working together, the joy of being together on another plain and the joy of sharing this with those around them. And it was a joy to see your response to their music. Thank you
Well said!
Epic!
Same day they cover Warpigs, I which they do as a maashup of Paranoid, Crazy Train and Killing In the name of, highly recommended you check that out too
Yeah. That I gotta see!
"The guitar is playing you" YES! My guitar is a shitty guitarist.
@@PrymalChaos that's cool too.
I have seen the Big Push on the streets of Brighton,it's a seaside town and I was totally gob smacked it was absolutely astounding 😊I went to see them everyday I was in holiday🎉
Lucky you! I’m glad you had that opportunity.
I’m not a musician WHAT SO EVER, but watching passion exude through his physical expressions when he does these live performances, gives you a sense for his love and passion of music. Very definite differentiation of performers and artists. He’s a true artist, consumed by his passion for music and it beams from his performances.
He feels the tone and emotion of the music, not performing it. So beautiful.
I lived in Brighton and would often stumble across Ren. Same for Dub Fx
Oh wow! Yeah I'll need to check that out.
I was actually gonna mention something along the lines of "not since the Police have there been a bunch of white boys from the UK delivering such a loving homage to the Reggae genre.."
@@PrymalChaos Definitely! I love Ren for bringing the old with the new. His mashups are crazy good!
@@PrymalChaos We must have ESPN! (A little American humor there)😉
Busking was perfect for Ren with being able to perform when he was feeling well.
The arrangement of how this was constructed really is flawless and clever.
I have SO MUCH respect for your perspective on music in general, let alone The Big Push here.... Thank you.
My 23 year old son was shopping in Brighton, our closest city, south coast of England, and he saw this performance, I didn't know until one day he saw me watching a rection video to it and told me he was there. I also like Ren's War Pigs from the same session. #HOGUK
Amazing reaction! Thanks so much, not trying to be greedy but would love to see you check out their cover War pigs.😊It's 🔥🔥
The first time I watched TBP's I Shot the Sheriff, I found myself saying, "Yeah, we've GOT to keep on moving on the road to Zion!" When the song was over and I came out of my trance, I thought, "What the hell is the road to Zion?" 😂
Edit: When I said "kinetic, raw, inviting, immersive," I was searching for just the right word. A few minutes later it came to me: intimate!
Such a great reaction. Thanks. Loved to see you laughing through this cos that’s how I reacted too tho’ I couldn’t explain how like you. 👍
What an odd combination of songs for a medley! That in itself is brilliant!
Now you've started down the Big Push rabbit hole. You've got so much to discover. Covers and original work.
You so eloquently describe how I feel about Ren's music, especially his soulful guitar. I'm subscribing.
Absolutely LOVE Matt Corby. ❤️❤️❤️
That Trick Of The Light performance is absolutely fantastic.
It's a moment in time. That's for sure.
Hi, they are great. They recorded some originals like Sweet Little Lady.
Oh cool!
So many times I've watched this! My happy place.
Lots more from this band to love ❤
Another Aussie here.
It’s a combination - talent with out practice is wasted. Practice without talent is competent music.
They were based in Brighton south coast of England
Wow! That's cool.
The Big Push - Wade in the Water/Nina Simone/Trouble So Hard
The Big Push - Swan Song
The Big Push - Englishman in New York
Welcome to the Renaissance!
I have a list of songs to check out of all styles. Obviously this is no where near everything but gives you places to start. 🖤

Thank you for the info!! If you search for "PrymalChaos Ren" I've done a few other songs. They're all pretty cool but man, Jenny and Screech knocked me for a 6.
@@PrymalChaos I just scrolled all the way down, on Hi Ren now 😉 you just made me laugh on that as I heard Eminem, Pendulum and Hope in the same couple sentences and was thinking “just you wait” 🤣🖤
I am SO ecstatic you finally got to experience this. I'm tickled beyond measure. This one specific, special performance is the epitome of talent one is born with and the soul and emotion just seeps out of this man's pores. Looooooove!
Most underrated song of theirs is Swan Song....beautiful, completely different feel
Yep - there's NOTHING ELSE like Swan Song anywhere in music Ren's been involved with (that I know of, anyway).
Super worth looking for early on in exploring The Big Push's catalogue. 👍
Some people play music, others feel it.
This was undeniably a special sunny day in Brighton for these 4.... I definitely recommend catching the "War Pigs" (Sabbath/Ozzy mashup with a crowd-pleasing surprise ending) followed immediately by the "Paint It Black" closer from the same set. #Special ;)
It does not get much better than these super talented boys doing what they were born to do. Joyous!
They are in Brighton, it's a beautiful seaside communiity. Ren is shooting up the charts and doing suoer. I do hope he will get back with the Big Push when his medical care is finished.
They played there street gigs (busking) in Brighton south coast of UK , loved this band so much, check out war pigs from same set 🎉❤
My two favourite artists, Ren and Matt Corby!
War Pigs! War Pigs! War Pigs! War Pigs! War Pigs! War Pigs! No pressure!!! Love your reactions; very intelligent and analytical
The Big Push are my favorite! The talent is crazy.
Love your reactions- love the depth you go into and seeing the enjoyment on your face and in your voice 😊
In the begging of falling in the rabbit hole, I think I must have watched this version at least 100 times, and then with the reactors. 😅 so so so good ❤
I'm so glad you checked out The Big Push. They are amazing. They have some original songs too I hope you react to more of them.
Oh nice! I will certainly look in to that.
Your joy at the music and the musicianship gave me joy 😊
my fav part is ren and the band turning the classic hip hop song into a rock banger at the end.
I believe you would be great at doing interviews. I would certainly watch that. I ask that you get what you need and maybe a little of what you want, take care sir...
Thank you! Stay tuned. I'm gonna make this happen. ❤️
This group could have been bigger than the Stones if they had been able to stay together; yet each of the members is wildly talented and different. I enjoy watching each as they produce their individual music nowadays. It's wild how different their styles are and how they melded into an even greater whole.
Thanks for turning me on the Matt Corby, he’s Fantastic!
He really is!
The Old Testament of Ren began a few chapters before The Big Push, but this time has been Canonized by many as the Genesis.😊
Well put!
These guys are so incredibly talented and so in sync with each other! I can’t imagine just walking down the street and happening to run into a performance like this ❤. If you haven’t checked out Swan Song or Englishman in New York, you absolutely should. War Pigs is also incredible. Great reaction ❤
It's amazing to see how much you enjoyed this performance. Thanks.
My pleasure!
If you haven’t seen the Big Push’s War Pigs or Symphony for the Devil busking covers, definitely check them out!
At Last! Such an iconic performance. Lovely reaction.
Your breakdown of this was so wise. Nicely explained & enjoyed getting to know your vibe. It's lovely!
Man, it was about time with this one 😅❤❤
Ps: I loved Matt Colby snippet, def gonna check him out thanks so much
Hope you enjoyed it!
Yes!!
@PrymalChaos- I found them alllll day today!! 😁 lol
New sub here!! I’ve been hooked on Ren for over a year now. I’m from the USA & I am spreading the word about Ren to all of my musician friends (I am a classical pianist, but I play it all!! ) I Love music & I can tell you love it too!! You are spot-on about Ren being the ‘new Prince!’ Plays all of his instruments, writes lyrics & beats, sings, directs, & I’m adding “ Modern day Minstrel” now, credit to you!! Love your channel, your style, content, everything!!! Glad to be here!! 😁
Great description of REN’s guitar playing. Thanks for this insightful reaction.👍💕🦇
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💕
I so appreciate you talking about this from a musician's standpoint... love it 😃💕
great reaction to the beautiful, talented ren x
Everything from this entire performance is great, I hope you get a chance to watch all the different videos they have put out… definitely worth it!
Passion I think is the word you’re looking for ❤and scatting😊
Great reaction but if your gonna do rens origin look up his first band Trick The Fox, either runaway or the mashup
Wait, there's more?!
