Ren has mentioned in interviews that as he was developing his singing voice he realized his tone matched Sting's pretty well and he is hugely influenced by both Sting and the Police. He has also said that the busking session audio from each instrument went into iPhones. He worked meticulously to get the audio capture to what we have here. He said it was a labor of love and is happy that these performances are preserved for others to discover. Thanks for reacting to the Reniverse!
Fire 🔥 I agree with you that Ren is an alien from the planet “musica” - he is a “once in a generation” artist and I’ve never run across anyone like him in my 62 years being a rocker growing up in the 70s!!! 🔥💯❤️👏🙌
Well, if you want to continue this busking session...The Big Push War Pigs. It was the very next mashup they played. It's a mashup of War Pigs, Paranoid, Crazy Train, and Rage Against the Machine's Killin in the Name. Awesome vid! Love your reactions. Ren is music is a fitting description!
You should check out The Big Push covering "Wade in the Water - Nina Simone - Trouble So High" Ren plays bass and he freaking plays it like a lead guitar. The man is phenomenal.
I agree...Ren is music. Look at all the very different performers he performs with, he delivers something different to each, but he is the glue that makes the performance whole. As he says in "Hi Ren", he is a genius.
What's nuts is immediately after this performance he did War Pigs. (Which is a must listen to) My absolute favorites from him outside of Hi Ren are Ocean, Losing It, and Calk Outlines (live, without Chinchilla)
And then after War Pigs, they did Paint It Black, another epic cover. And in the same show they did their superb original song Watch Out. What I would have given to be there! Better than most 'tier one' concerts I've been to that have cost upwards of £100.
@@davidjames3080 man to be at this specific set would have made my whole life and dare say that if i was able to attend no other artist or band would be able to take this off the best live show seen in person
The Big Push: Wade In the Water, Sweet Little Lady (not the acoustic version), Englishman in New York. Ren and Sam: Walking on the Moon, It’s a Man’s World. Ren: Crutch, Fire, Ocean.
My brain is blown away by all Ren is doing. Video Grapher. Raps, sings with range. Writes music. He .makes his own videos. Produces. He is wise beyond his years. He brings struggling artist up to the public .he answers and does interviews with reactors. He is well aware with what made him famos. Yesterday he started a go fund me type of thing for a young smart reactor. He remembers where he is from. His reactor interviews are so open and awesome. I can't believe that he is able to do this while being sick 10 yrs. Mis diagnoses killing his ammune system. Now finally 10 yrs he is being treated for Lyme Disease. I have tried to find flaws in his music and videos. But I can't. He is so very honest and humble. No way to box him to any genre. Look my kids think I too old to be a fan but there's no words. Deep lyrics trying to help us as humans. ❤❤❤❤ HE MUST GET WELL! WE NEED HIM IN THIS WORLD FOREVER.
I haven't seen anyone listen to and watch this video and not smile, especially during Romain's solo. It's such a good vibe and you can see they love and feel their music and that's infectious.
😆 you are always so composed lol. Refreshing to see you unable to hold back your smiles! Amazing feeling when we connect with music in this way! Thank you sir, for another great reaction! Now I'm smiling ❤
Reggae is a big part of British culture so it's not to strange seeing someone like Ren sing in that style, some of the best reggae singers of all time was signed to UK labels back in the day. One of the most iconic British reggae songs is Pass the Dutchy by the Musical Youth from Birmingham.
This. I think most US reactors don't understand how deeply reggae and ska is embedded in british music culture. Because of the windrush generation in the 50s. We are one.
I've seen maybe 10 reactions to this song because I'm obsessed with how good it is.. but I couldn't want for you to drop your reaction man, awesome! Knew you'd be into this one. "Ren is just music, that's what he is"... might be the best quote yet to summarize the man
#Ren #TheBigPush I so hope they have a reunion! I see a few bands/artists this year but Ren/The big push would be top of the list if that was possiblity!! 🔥❣️
Bob Marley and Sting and The Police are some of Ren’s favourite artists! He has a well rounded understanding of music all types and is great at all of them! He is the most exciting Artist I have seen since the 70’s hands down!
There is a charismatic aura about Ren and the Big Push and they are oozing with talent! They put their everything into their performances and it comes through! I'm so grateful for the void they fill in the music industry❤
He’s a working musician. Ren is a voracious music lover who hangs with other great working musicians. Going into the world in front of people is how great performers are created. America has become a studio centric
Black Pegasus did an interview with Ren, he talked about his musical influences and mentioned Sting and how reggae was big in the UK when he was growing up. It’s a great watch.
I remember years ago, Philip Philips on American Idol would move his whole body when singing/playing guitar and I think it was JLo that said it was like the music was like electricity flowing through his body. And watching Ren (especially when playing the guitar at the beginning) you can see his whole body feeling every single note. And it reminds me of that comment. I never forgot it because Philip felt like the music to me rather than the cookie cutter pop stars they usually had on the show.
No emerging artist of the last 30 years has excited me the way Ren has. His talent and creativity is just a force of nature, making its own way through the world. Yeah, more Ren is great with me.
"Ren & Sam Tompkins (Ram Jam Black Betty?) Improvising Around Stevie Wonder", Ren & Sam (Tompkins) "Blind Eyed ft. Angry Car Park Attendant" ;-) Ren "The Hunger", Ren "What You Want", Ren "Power", Ren & Chinchilla "Chalk Outlines" ❤
Ren is a Genius in all Genres. He Can't be Reconed with for Sure. I like to see within that Skull lol IQ Please😂 love All of Ren Music 24/7 Please. Great Reaction
I´m absolutely hooked on The Big Push, they are amazing musicians. Another street session that´s awesome is The Big Push - Wade in the Water / Nina Simone / Trouble so hard
There is a genre with Ren, But I think it only show's up once or twice in a lifetime. Ren's artistic performance is what you get when you cross life with anguish and pain, and pure raw musical talent!
All of The Big Push covers are great, but a favourite of mine that nobody else seems to have picked up on is their “These boots are made for walking/ Satisfaction/ Everybody needs somebody” mashup filmed in a launderette in Brighton.
Ren is his own box!🤗 You have the smile like you're watching your younger brother doing something awesome! I LOVE THAT!😍 There's not a bad song anywhere that I have found from Ren or The Big Push. They are absolutely mindblowingly awesome. It frustrates me to no end as like you. I blame the algorithms. They should've been WORLDWIDELY known long ago! Anywho... Awesome reaction as always! Peace and love always until there is no more!😊❤
Loved your reaction! You have such great knowledge and perspective on everything you watch. This might be the most fun I think I've seen you have in a reaction. Awesome 😊
Ren is an ARTIST, that's the best way I can describe him. However, everyone in the big push are super talented artist as well. Romain (Dude with the black guitar) makes some really good music as well.
Great reaction. Yes, Ren is music! There isn't another box big enough to hold him. Great songs by Ren... early Ren; Patience, Run Away, Fire. From a while back; Hold On, Ocean, Ready For You. w/ the big push; Precious, Dignity, Watch Out, Glory Glory.
Ren is Sting/Queen/Bob Marley/Beasty boys, rolled into 1. We just need him to get well. The UK needs his music. The world needs his music. To Ren if you read this get well soon bro your truly loved the world over.
Thank for your reaction and enthusiasm. The Nina Simone mash up Wade in the water/Trouble/New day ( the Big Push) is absolutely stunning, but actually all of the Big Pusch is also ‘ improvising around Stevie Wonder with Sam Tompkins’. Enjoy
Ren is an actual artist. he isnt just a rapper or just a guitar player or just a singer, or just an actor. he is all of those and more.
Ren is to music what Stevie Ray Vaughan was to the guitar.
I never get tired of people reacting to Ren 🤯
Ren has mentioned in interviews that as he was developing his singing voice he realized his tone matched Sting's pretty well and he is hugely influenced by both Sting and the Police. Yep. The “majesty” and “masterful” musicianship is there. Thanks for a great reaction. 💐
Ren is a blessing from the music Gods, we need him in this world right now. Much love and respect
Fire 🔥 I agree with you that Ren is an alien from the planet “musica” - he is a “once in a generation” artist and I’ve never run across anyone like him in my 62 years being a rocker growing up in the 70s!!! 🔥💯❤️👏🙌
Agreed, and it's so confusing that few know of him.
Ren Is music…❤
“REN is Music” love this!!!!!! Everything by REN and the Big Push is 🔥great reaction!
When the man upstairs passed out Talent, Ren went back for seconds, Thirds and Fourths!!!
I agree😘
Well, if you want to continue this busking session...The Big Push War Pigs. It was the very next mashup they played. It's a mashup of War Pigs, Paranoid, Crazy Train, and Rage Against the Machine's Killin in the Name.
Awesome vid! Love your reactions. Ren is music is a fitting description!
Same performance, their cover of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” Ren’s bandmate Romain Axisa goes off on a little guitar solo. 🔥🔥🔥
REN ALL DAY! I love life more because he exists. His artistic expression is profound.
Many have said it before, Ren is an alien 👾👽🎸
You should check out The Big Push covering "Wade in the Water - Nina Simone - Trouble So High"
Ren plays bass and he freaking plays it like a lead guitar. The man is phenomenal.
Totally agree with this recommendation!
I have seen Ren and The Big Push perform live many times in Brighton and it is never less than magical.
I agree...Ren is music. Look at all the very different performers he performs with, he delivers something different to each, but he is the glue that makes the performance whole. As he says in "Hi Ren", he is a genius.
Yes, Ren becomes the music. Perfect. Unafraid and unashamed he surrenders to the art of music and performance.
What's nuts is immediately after this performance he did War Pigs. (Which is a must listen to)
My absolute favorites from him outside of Hi Ren are Ocean, Losing It, and Calk Outlines (live, without Chinchilla)

Facts equally amazing! They killed busking that day
@@davidjames3080 man to be at this specific set would have made my whole life and dare say that if i was able to attend no other artist or band would be able to take this off the best live show seen in person
I think you'd really like the Big Push war pigs cover

Well said!! He’s such an inspiration for others suffering as well! ❤
British busking at it finest 😍 Well, with an Irishman/Englishman/Frenchman/Welshman !!
REN is from the Andromeda Galaxy!!! He brings Music!!
I always look forward to you checking out more Ren. He has a new song releasing tomorrow that has a heartbreaking backstory.
I think that's the most I've ever seen you vibe out during a reaction. This dude is pretty special.
Can’t wait 🎉

isn't there UB40 aswell? Loved them as a kid. Well, stiil enjoy it nowadays :)
@@Tearnofear TRUE!
yeah it was also tied in with the punk movement in the 70s
Yeah, until recently the majority of Black people in Britain were Caribbean.

5:06 "Ren is SO Good!" Yes. Always love watching reactors react to this! Thanks for the Patreon requesting this! 🙂❤
Ren is a mythical being like the tales of Orpheus.
Ren is making music great again
“…the majesty that is Ren”
Ren is simply unquantifiable.
Bob Marley and Sting and The Police are some of Ren’s favourite artists! He has a well rounded understanding of music all types and is great at all of them! He is the most exciting Artist I have seen since the 70’s hands down!
The Big Push also does a cover of "Wade in the Water". It shows more of different vocal ranges in the group. EVERYONE of them is mad talented!
Ren is just a musicians musicians. And he's self taught. He was born with this talent
Ren is an artist. He is fantastic woth music, impersonation, acting. He's a very unique force of nature and he will not be put into a box I believe.
ren and sam tompkins earned it-man's world-falling . Cheers
As An Englishman who lives in th USA …. This right here is British music culture!!!

He is a huge Sting fan, has often spoken about that
I’ve never seen an artist more free to be whatever he feels like being. What is Ren? Free. And he’s freeing us in the process.
Well, there is always Marc Rebillet. 😂
Reggae has been instilled in uk music culture since the 60s😊

He is a RENigma!!!
*REN is the Swiss Army knife of music the one with the fork and the spoon.*
Definitely my favourite track of any artist
Since a few months ago, all I listen to is Ren and his group of friends. So amazing. Once every generation or so we are blessed like this.
Always surprising -Never disappointing
💯They say humans are 99% energy. Pretty sure Ren is 99% music. …artistry really.

MRLBOYD. With all due respect, REN is a portal to another musical Universe where the art is pure and unfettered. Keep the REN coming good Sir
"Ren - Hold On" is definitely another banger to hear. It's on the heavy side of things with an aftertaste of hope that gives you closure
