This version (1977 tour) is the definitive version of "Los Endos". When I first heard it (I was age 16) I couldn't believe it - this must be the music they play in Heaven.....
Sjaak De Winter I think so, Sjaak. Sorry, but Stuermer is a jazz guitarist, and of course, he is fantastic, but I think that he can't play the classic 70s progressive Rock Style from early Genesis. But he played "The Lady lies" really good, which I only heard on bootlegs from 1978
@@Darkfatheroftheuniverse I loved his solo in Lady Lies, I think Steve could do a similar thing but he wasn't anymore. I'm very agree with you. Sjaak have no arguments, sorry
I wish they would have filmed all of the laser parts of this concert, instead of presenting them in still photos during the end of "Los Endos," some photos even printed upside down! Perhaps they looked "cheesy" recorded on 16 millimeter, so they decided to leave them off. I was always under the assumption that Genesis gave Blue Oyster Cult a run for their money when it came to lasers. Perhaps that isn't accurate. But, it's so good to see Steve, and not Daryl Steurmer, playing with the band.
I love Yes and Bill Brufords playing in the early 70's when Rick Wakeman was in the band, they were awesome. But Chester Thompson was the right fit for Genesis and Phil in particular, their drumming together is stunning to listen too and even better to see. Seconds out is the best live album ever in my opinion and it's all Chester except Cinema Show which was recorded at the Paris Sports Pavilion on 23/6/76 the one and only tour Bill did with the band and what a great job he did too. Genesis, the best band of my generation !!!!!!!!!
Chester first joined the band live for the 1977 tour, so there he is, to the right of Phil onstage. No worries. The Bruford concert footage didn't capture me as much as Chester's did. As much as I love Bill Bruford, and his drumming (he played an incredible "Cinema Show" with Phil) I think Chester put the ultimate muscle into the performances, and enhanced Phil's performance, as well. It made for a perfect mix of talents.
Bill bruford was not thrill at all by genesis music..you can hear it on the trick tour..he is often drifting away from the original material..and lacks chester discipline..
Thanks kamwrites for the reply, my bad i must admit, i just don`t remember seeing Chester credited on the original vinyl album that i`ve got somewhere. Thanks for all your comments putting me right.
No Sir! Mr. Chester Thompson played the first gig with genesis on January 1st 1977 at the London Rainbow Theatre. It was Daryl Stuermer who joined for the 1978 tour. It's all on "Genesis - The Movement". Just google it.
Mientras Seconds Out se grababa en el Palacio de los Deportes de Paris... en Hollywood te adoctrinaban con la musica de Discotheque en Saturday night Fever!...
i felt the same way bout chester and bill, until i listened to genesis live at the syrian mosque in pitsburg with bill on the whole recording. its simply awsome. you can find it here on youtube. check it out.....
WOW.Saw this tour. It forever changed how I looked at live performance Epic in every sense. Too bad the laser show during the last few minutes couldn't be properly captured to film. 5 stars nonetheless!!
Judging from other videos, it looks like he is just muting the stings with his left hand and scraping with the bony part of his lower right arm, with some distortion.
Chester joined Genesis at the end of 1976, his first concert was in 1977. So on Seconds out it's almost him, Cinema show is the only track with Bill on it (from the 1976 tour). Daryl came in after the departure of Steve at the middle of recording Seconds out. So this is Seconds out in Dallas 1977.
Seconds Out remains one of my favorite albums of all time. Still gives me chills after a thousand playings
Glad I'm not the only one! Some of the greatest live rock performances ever captured. Not just "prog"... ROCK.
I hear you, Bob. Me too.
Same here. Absolute live masterpiece!
Yeah Bob I must have heard this album a thousand times I'll never get sick of it it's one of the best
The mellotron choir is one of my favourite sounds ever!
Same here!
Alex Lloyd me too!
Well said!
I wonder if they knew back then what they were creating! This really is stunning!
I was there up in the nose bleed section straight in front with my older brother and this was one hell of a great show
this is Genesis and what Genesis is known for.
Best times
Génesis at its best
yes not the shit they put out in the 80s
best live album ever
imo 1 of the best albums ever ! nostalgic feelings all over : goosebumps every time again !!!
I was there! Second row, center, floor. It was amazing!
when Mike hits those Taurus bass pedals....wow
With Jesus on the bass guitar, nothing can go wrong
psijas73 Amen!
Seconds out is the best version of los endos
Watch Los endos - Live at Wembley Stadium - Genesis - 1987 i think its better because of daryl stuermer
This version (1977 tour) is the definitive version of "Los Endos". When I first heard it (I was age 16) I couldn't believe it - this must be the music they play in Heaven.....
I know exactly what you mean. There's nothing else like it out there, even 45 years later. I listen to Seconds Out about monthly, straight through.
The 77-78 tour was awesome...saw them in Houston. I've seen them 5 times live.
Love the tour from a trick of the tail with Bil Bruford. But this is awesome too
I love this band GENESIS with their unique music that will never come back
That is an awesome example of those concert years. It was epic.
Crazy amazing, pinnacle of prog rock full of pompous but genuine raw emotion and perfect symbiosis between the band members.
Fantastic
love the duet between steve hacket and tony Banks at 2:30 !! especially at 2:40....that ghost guitar patch and synth patch---my word!!
UNBELIEVABLE. GOOSE BUMPS
Hackett was the only one who could play Los Endos perfect
It s not true!
Who have tell you that?
Sjaak De Winter I think so, Sjaak. Sorry, but Stuermer is a jazz guitarist, and of course, he is fantastic, but I think that he can't play the classic 70s progressive Rock Style from early Genesis. But he played "The Lady lies" really good, which I only heard on bootlegs from 1978
No no no you are wrong.
Al the members plays Los Endos perfect.
Also everybody plays his own part>> Hackett can t plays the drums for example.
@@Darkfatheroftheuniverse I loved his solo in Lady Lies, I think Steve could do a similar thing but he wasn't anymore. I'm very agree with you.
Sjaak have no arguments, sorry
It's only worth listening to with Hackett.
Seconds Out ROCKS !!!!!

Do you know, these days NOBODY puts a gig on like that....period.
Talents have run out...period.

Stephen West , struggling to believe Rick ever featured in a Genesis lineup. Educate me.
Read it again, Smudge.
Sorry, 6 years and I still have to say, absolutely correct! Best live album ever, nothing like it before or since. Ethereal and sublime power.
@@McSeahorse 2years late but I’m sure if you read it again you can plainly see I’m referring to Yes with Bruford not Genesis 👍
Read again…Yes i said when Bill was drummer 🤨
The Best of the progressive rock!
what a gig!

Si Genesis vuelve, tiene que ser con este órgano. El mejor sonido de órgano que Tony Banks haya tenido jamás.
Chester Thompson is a bad ass!!
Saw all genesis concerts since 1972, seconds out was the best
Fantastic!!!
Musical brilliance I think!
That was fucking amazing.
Oh my god.just wow
Thanks kamwrites for the reply, my bad i must admit, i just don`t remember seeing Chester credited on the original vinyl album that i`ve got somewhere. Thanks for all your comments putting me right.
FANTASTICI
CLASS ACT!!❤❤🙏🙏🙏
Grandiosi!
Los mejores
I LOVE THIS GENESIS I CLOSE MY EYES HEY I SAW MY SECONDARY SCHOOL I LOVE IT
Elio Reyes, parabéns pelo bom gosto, Genesis é a encarnação mais pura do rock progressivo e o que de melhor existirá sempre.

Fu**ing brilliant
Fucking Superb. Thank you.
It’s like being on a Space Odyssey
Well....he's in this video and the lighting set up is Seconds Out so I don't know what to tell you.
Impossible to find! Please place the whole concert on Pirate bay!
at 4.20 does anyone know what effects Hackett is using to make that sound?
Judging from other videos, it looks like he is just muting the stings with his left hand and scraping with the bony part of his lower right arm, with some distortion.
Does anyone have the complete show on video ?
It doesnt exist :'(
From where do all theses clips now come from, as they were not originally recorded?
I think simply uplifts left hand (on the mellotron) and changes chord... In Seconds out this happens more smoothly
Woah! Phil Collins with hair!
and the longest beard that he's ever had
Real hippie beard and hair from the 70's... nice time
Although this version in Dallas pales in comparison to the recorded Paris show ... it's not bad at all. They do seem a bit tired however.
This must’ve been 1976 coz Steve hacketts still owning his original role
Hackett stayed with Genesis until the 1977 tour ended. He left during the mixing sessions of Seconds Out. This is still Hackett on lead guitar.
SENZA PAROLE !!!!!!!!!!!
This isn`t from `Seconds Out` as Chester did`nt join until 1978. Awesome video though. Thanks dude.
I saw this concert in Dundee, Scotland on 13th January 1977 and Chester Thompson was playing drums!!!
WHAT THE FUCK HAPPEN TO THE COMPLETE 1977 DALLAS SHOW ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
My bad mate. He is.
When you see them in concert when this album came out now that was a great concert
YOU'RE SURE.....INFORMATI BENE.
