This is the best an R8 has ever been. Someone in my city drives this exact spec every summer (just saw it last week) and it gives me chills every time. You absolutely nailed this one, Paul!

Btw Paul, I believe there is an AUX port that you can hook up an AUX cable to and then grab a converter, a 3.5mm jack to lightning port and then you can use your iPhone to listen to music. Try it out

Buy a bluetooth fm transmitter for your radio. That will work
Love this. Like old times. You should buy an FM transmitter for the R8, plugs into your cigarette port and allows you to stream music from your phone to the car. Less than a tenner too
I love the V8 one you had, it's what really got me into your channel all those years ago. Love the V10 too but I've gotta say I'd LOVE to see the Riviera Blue wrap come back haha

Why didnt you get one of those phone chargers with built in Bluetooth to FM.
It pairs with your phone and then sends the signal out as a weak FM radio signal - weak so it doesn't break the law but plenty good enough that the car radio can tune into it.
Iirc Sam uses one in the 360 or used to

I haven't watched you or Seb's channel for some time now. Sam's as well but just recently started watching his again and now yours. I remember when I started watching Seb he had the Lotus and looked like a 16 year old kid! Funny to see him age. You don't look much different though. 😁👍

Finally, a roadtrip video. I saw a R8 passed by our house at times and it looks good in person.
Car has an aux in port. Just need a usb C or lightening to aux and then an aux cable. Available from any Currys.

Daily drove a 2011 v10 in ibis white for 18k in 18months back in the day - amazing car …..Audi service intervals , stunning looks , iconic engine , slightly iffy r tronic gearbox and woeful infotainment aside - one of the best.

Why did you not get a Bluetooth receiver/charger to plug into the 12v/cigarette port? Tune into a channel that matches that on the receiver, then listen to your music?🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♂️

Invest in a fm plug in transmitter Bluetooth phone to plug in then tune radio to set station good quality ones don't give alot of interference

Aux to Bluetooth adapter, few $. Great sound quality, never buy fm transmitters. They don’t sound good at all

I get that you don't want to disturb the neighbors on a cold start. But setting off as soon as you start a cold R8 is, to me, not such a great idea.
It's effectively just idling and these are generally pretty reliable engines, it will be fine every now and then
And it seems he is not pushing at all, it is like the rpm is the same
Porsche actually used to recommend NOT letting the engine sit and idle. I think the concept was that by putting a little bit of load you'll warm everything up quicker, which is better for it
First start up in the morning and sitting idling is causing the most damage as the oil is sitting in the sump so the quicker you set off after start up and get the oil moving around the engine and lubricating everything is better. If your car has a cold start feature were the engine revs a little higher for 30 to 60 secs I would normally wait until it has stabilised before setting off
@@k-man88 you'll find the oil moves around the engine if idling or driving. Transmission oil is a different question

Challenges of having a supercar with an outdated infotainment system. Nevertheless, r8 will always be a gorgeous, reliable and comfortable daily supercar. Still best of the best!

At 8k pm you can pretty much buy anything you want
As long you got insurance sorted for your circumstances and deposit sorted, get a huracan to start or r8 and go from there :)
