The crimson moon was it's own entity that appeared during the cataclysm and took revenge of Khaenri'ah, it has since also appeared in Liyue lore and is regarded as an omen of the heavens moving. The destruction of two moons and being rendered down into dust appears in two compatible instances of Genshin Lore. In Mitternachts waltz Princess Fischl claims to have seen two of the three bright moons rendered into a dust that stung her eyes, and likewise in the weapon Moonpiercer the moons were obliterated into a fine dust that fell to earth and entered the eyes and hearts of children. The the legacy of the sisters wishing to one day be reunited, and the boatman of Tsurumi talking about carrying the spirits of dead humans to the Lady of the Golden Halls upon the moon.
it's possible Paimon could be a remaining "Fragment" of one of the Moon sisters which could've "branched off" with her own personality and no memories much like what Rukkadavta did with Nahida. (sorry I can't remember the correct spelling of her name)
@@vinny8589 Indeed. Since that's what Seelie are, Fragments of the Seelie ancestor. But the Moon sisters were supposedly dancing with her and grieving while that happened. There's a lot of elements o the stroy that dont make sense. The Seelie was supposedly punished by having all of her memories wiped, but her and he fragments singing that song in their grief is a part of what defined them. Something happens to happen in the story between having all memory of someone removed, and falling in grief because of them.
I was considering your theories to be possible UNTIL you came to the conclusion of Paimon being one of 3 moon goddess which was VETOED by Dottoire during act 5 of the Sumeru Archon. Until someone ACTUALLY COUNTERED the 2nd Most powerful Harbinger EVIDENCE, the theories of Paimon and the Traveler are gods or Higher are STILL at the BACK BURNER
this verse reminds me of the portion in A Drunkard's Tale about the wolf and the seelie "queen". it's also a very nice contra parallel with "hydro dragon hydro dragon please don't cry". HMMM
What is interesting is that fact she knew we could wield the elements of teyvat without a vision and she wasn't surprised, this tell me that this was not the first time
@thunderwindknight I do know that, I am talking specifically talking about the first time we touch venti statue, that reaction for geo would be first time she saw someone wield multiple elements. It wasn't about us wielding a elements with vision.
Wait wait wait Remember that one trailer when we were introduced to Liyue So we all know that the original Traveler for MiHoyo is Aether and Lumine is the Abyss sibling They used Lumine's model for the Liyue trailer and if you look closely you can see she already has the light element or whatever we had at the start of the game before we touched the Venti statue So could Paimon have guided our lost sibling before we woke up from whatever seal the Unknown God had put us in for 500 years? 🤔
There's a voiceline from the traveler, I don't remember the name but Paimon says that she doesn't know how she's appearing and disappearing but she knows that she can do it. I think it's a proof that Paimon lost her powers before and memories and now she's a small being now
Think it's in Liyue when talking with Childe or Xingqiu. Something akin to how she can just float endlessly and not get tired. Paimon says she doesn't know how or why she just can and it's a 'Paimon thing'
Right, also like Guoba I think. Paimon probably got into some kind of battle way before meeting traveler, which probably caused Paimon to use up all her power. Idk tho
Since i dont see that anybody else has mentioned it yet, one of the melusines call aether a monster that'll swallow the world and paimon a rainbow balloon with a string attached to the sky
@@roydanaf6529 Her name is Canotila, tho I'm not sure which quest that quote is from - I only saw screenshots of the quote from a friend who's wayyyyy further in the game than me.
Wait, wait, wait. Her design contains references to Celestia, the 3 moons, the stars, and constellations. She jokingly refers to herself as Goddess of Protection. A guide who claims that her name means "The Guardian Angel of Travelers." Her fate can't be read by someone who isn't a Visionary (if even Visionaries could) despite not being immune to Irminsul alterations. Maybe Paimon is the goddess of the False Sky/Firmament itself, the eggshell from which Phanes was born, and which it used to protect Teyvat from the outside universe, and through which the Travelers would have had to have passed to enter Teyvat.
What if she's a remnant of the moon from before the invasion of the primordial one Never heard vishaps talk about there being a moon or not in the original world
What you say about the Sustainer makes sense. If Genshin is parallel to Honkai Impact and the Sustainer is parallel to Kiana, then it makes sense because in Honkai Impact, Kiana is said to have found herself stuck on the moon!
You also already know it's parallel due to characters from Honkai having counter parts in both Genshin and Starrail with exceptions like Welt traveling from Honkai Impact to Starrail
@@AloyImpact To be more accurate - they said that they want to create one multiverse, when they were asked about ZZZ, HSR and Genshin relations with HI3, without any farther specifics, but they never confirmed that Genshin is the part of the Imaginary tree, it was interpretation of some Theory crafters.
I'd like to point out that the moon in the loading screen is the same as the one we see in game, it may look different because of perspective. Allow me to explain. The loading screen is theorised to be a place called The Celestial Atlas (in the whole game this place has been mentioned like twice one of which was in zhongli's first story quest) this place exist in the same overworld that we play in, just that it's wayyyyyy up high in the sky even higher than celestia. This place serves as a medium for travelling between worlds that's why we see the twins there in the first cutscenes because they were about to leave Teyvat. So the moon in the loading screen is the same as the one in game, i even looked at the patterns and they appear to be similar, the only difference you may notice can be due to the height perspective. But ofc this is just my take on it, I could be wrong
@@ploofii actually, it's been theorised that the world of teyvat exists in the same universe as star rail. And the gods of teyvat (probably the primordial one or the second who came or even someone else) is purposely hiding Teyvat so that the Aeons may not influence the world to their will. Just a theory
Btw, very interesting that Mona even when she was not able to read fate of a Traveller, she still was able to predict some things, like she predicted where Traveller will be and waited there and that Traveller was in danger also, but she was not able to do something even similar with Paimon. Btw, in the game there are 2 different mentions of Paimon - Paimon and P.A.I.M.O.N., like A.S.I.M.O.N. (Algorithm of Semi-Intransient Matrix of Overseer Network), so P.A.I.M.O.N. may be Primordial Algorithm of Intransient Matrix of Overseer Network, but maybe not Paimon herself, but she used this name. Also remember that Archons can "shrink" if they will use too much powers, and powers in Genshin are Knowlage and Memories as we know from Nahida's and Sumeru quests and also from Gouba's event, so maybe Paimon have not remembered her name, like Gouba for example, who do not remember anything from the past, but still was able to recognize Morax, but maybe she used the first name that came to her mind - Primordial Algorithm of Intransient Matrix of Overseer Network - P.A.I.M.O.N. - Paimon.... But I do not think that Paimon is literally one of Moon sisters, connected most likely, but not the one of.
Paimon has an immunity to abyssal corruption, but the moon sister's turned against each other. My theory is that it was abyssal corrupution that plagued there minds during the cataclysm
I agree and find it very likely the moon sisters and the seelies were both corrupted during the war. If Paimon is one of the moon sisters who got corrupted, she may have built up an immunity to the abyssal corruption over time OR she wasn’t exposed to as much. After all, it’s said that only moonlight could pierce the Night Mother’s land of night/the abyss (Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies).
@@F1ll1nTh3BlanksI agree that the abyssal corruption was not the reason for their demise… but what if the second who came was the reason for their downfall?
@@iamsyncx maybe she did get corrupted but it specifically affects gods and so to avoid that corruption, she separated herself from godhood leaving a weakened version. She laced dormant til she was fished out by aether.
A.S.I.M.O.N. - Algorithm of Semi-Intransient Matrix of Overseer Network, so P.A.I.M.O.N. may be - Primordial Algorithm of Intransient Matrix of Overseer Network
As someone else said, paimon is immune to forbidden knowledge but the moon sisters fall was caused by it, seems contradictory. But the biggest point is that neither apep nor neuvillette recognized paimon as a shade or moon sister, since they fought against them... For them paimon is just...paimon. Odd enough they act like shes nothing special but mona and the sin shade not being able to read her fate, proves that she at least is hiding something or that shes a much higher entity like sophia mother of the demiurge.
Thank you for watching! We haven’t yet been told for certain that the shades assisted the Primordial One in the war against the dragons. However, Neuvillette, as the incarnation of the hydro soverign, does not have every memory from back then. I find it possible that if she isn’t just weakened, Paimon could be an incarnation of one of the moon sisters like Neuvillette is to the hydro dragon; both are in different forms.
Rukhadevatta also was not immune to Forbidden Knowledge and made Nahida, "clone" of herself, to make Nahida delete her from the tree in future, so this is how Dendro Archon was corrupted, but avoided corruption at the same time, so maybe something similar is with Paimon, she is not exactly an original, but the "clone" version of her, whose role was to find Descender who will be able to "delete" corrupted original from the world, or whatever, that's not important, but the point is, that we already seen how Dendro Archon made thing like this.
It would alsl make sense that neuvilette wouldn't recognise her He's way too young, unless he has all the memories of the previous hydro dragon. He himself wouldn't have fought against phanes and the shades
...anyone remember the lantern rite with venti and zhongli. when venti start talking before entering the room. It starts with something to do with 'wind', and Paimon subconsciously completes the sentence with something about 'time'?
very sus indeed, I've always wondered if Paimon was that forgotten goddess of time - but perhaps venti should be able to recognize her then, but also venti holds many secrets hmm idk I can still see this theory holding true as well
@@Nova_the_starcatcher Venti himself is another enigma, more so than any of the other archons. It wouldn't surprise me if he is aware of Paimon's true identity, and Venti being sus and hiding important information from us is practically a meme at this point. They might even be in cahoots in some way. After all, Paimon states that she brings us to Mondstadt first for a reason, and Paimon actually being Istaroth is another popular theory.
If you see, Venti and Paimon seems already best friends.Paimon always jokes with him(calling him tone deaf bard). But Paimon is more respectful towards other archons.
I believe her Identity will be revealed in Natlan by the pyro archon… not only about her, but also about the celestia, the tsaritsa, and also I have a feeling that she’s the only one that have an answer about his sister.
In Inazuma's quest, Yae Miko suggests paimon to study humans more to better understand their emotions. I didn't catch this dialogue the first time, only when I replayed the quest on an alternative account
I think your deductions of Paimons origins are carefully and well thought out. Not only did you do your research thoroughly, you applied considerable connections between Genshin Impact Lore and a plethora of different Mythology. & on top of that note, it makes a great deal of sense when applied in the manner you've chosen to display it here. Great, great job @Syncx ! Keep up the incredible work. This was my first chance to see one of your videos and gotta say I'm looking forward to going through your content! 100%
the meaning of kiana name is moon goodes.. and in hi3rd she is bianca= white ataegina = the goddess of the nighttime. (the k243 is sirin) its already give huge clue what is Sustainer
If you play through Chenyu Vale's main world quest you actually follow three seelies and Paimon was acting REALLY sus when seeing them. I think this little detail gives us a hint that Paimon might be one of the three moon sisters
If what you say is true then I can already imagine how we will bid farewell to Paimon at the end of our journey but line will go like please don't cry because if you ever miss Paimon knows that Paimon will always watch over Teyvat. Please look up and you will see me in the night sky. and I am going to cry again. Please no more. T.T
I should mention how strange Paimon’s dialogue is in one of the recent world quests in Chenyu Vale. As you lead three seelies to their courts, Paimon seems almost nostalgic and starts acting very awkwardly. I believe she said something along the lines of: “Yeah… playing,” when Little Mao (that quest’s NPC) comments on the seelies’ behavior, and that’s only one example.
I love this theory (and that you have a no-leaks policy-it keeps it fun and honors Hoyo’s work). This is maybe the best theory I’ve seen yet and I dint see any holes in it. I may have a piggyback to add to this: What if the Descenders are the moons… and what if your character (determined by choices) is either the abyssal or celestial moon - your sibling is the other moon?
one could be rukkedhevata/ nahida. it is not known but nahida is an alter for Theresa Apocalypse, which was made from Kallen Kaslana's genes. Since the unknown god is a paralel to Herrscher of Void, which in that case is Kiana Kaslana (at least the body) we can assume a former of them was Nahida or the Greater lord. for the 3rd one, i assume it could be Paimon. The 3 gods of Time, Wisdom and Protection
Rukkhadevata and Deshret sealed the forbidden knowledge, with Deshret being the one who sacrificed himself and Rukkhadevata being the one who cast the spell. He also used the method of making everyone forget his existence in order to forget the forbidden knowledge. What does it have to do with Paimon and all this, well Rukkhadevata possibly used the same method that was once used in the past to seal the abyss, seal and forget since it is strange that the war of revenge of the dragons and the 3 moons seems to have been completely forgotten and but, certain beings seem to know that it had happened, nabu nalikata and rukkhadevata. being the 3 moons or one of them who succumbed to the temptation of the abyss, taking it to humans and unleashing everything that happened.
Also on neuvillete story quest, neuvillete told melusine that they have the ability to see more than the eyes can. And theres melusine world quest line that melusine told us that she's seeing something connection from paimon to way up there.
this is really compelling! although i can't help but feel a little sokka-esque heartbreak at the thought of the traveller's best friend becoming the moon :')
I just keep thinking about the melusine who says pairings crown has strings going into the sky into an unknown place and that’s why the melusine called her a balloon
i dont know whether this was made after the release of chenyu vale or not, but in the new main quest for chenyu vale the child points out we play we seelies because they really like us and paimons reaction to this is very suspicious and she says "haha sure.. thats the reason" or something among those words, i think this hints to her being the ancestor seelie who was punished for loving a human however i dont think this theory has any other solid grounds but this
My suspicion is Paimon is the "ELF" of some superweapon belonging to a Descender that manifested and carries her owner's will after they died... And somehow created a major timeloop where Aether and Lumine alternate the role of being Traveler and the Abyss Lord in each loop
emmmm... with a big stretch yes, they look similar... Black Swan more like older and cheaper version of Layla, they have even some similar animations, rather than Welkin Moon, which is much more Aphonia then, which in HI3 even have a very similar pose to Welkin Moon.
Still not even halfway through the video but in this lantern rite paimon referred to herself as "the guardian Angel" of the traveler. (My game is in french so maybe in the English version it was the god of protection).
Very nicetheory! Rukadevata said something like she got smaller ( nahidas size) after giving parts of her powers to certain situations. Maybe this happened also with Paimon and now she's small size?
I am just waiting for the day when paimon will finally change her form as she regain her power or memories, I think this will happen when the traveler is in danger and she will be the one saving us. COULD BE WRONG But i would love to see that!!
This is absolutely what i have been thinking for a long time now. You put everything supporting the idea that she is a moon sister all together into one video in a very well-structured format. Thank you so much for your hard work! I have been arguing this (or that she's at least a seelie ancestor or the last seelie) with people for months in other theory videos that always try to claim she is the Primordial One. That theory never felt right, but it can be hard to have the right clues supporting a theory in the moment. One thing you didn't bring up, however, is the story about how the 3 moon sisters witnessed a union between a seelie and an outlander, before calamity struck and chased them both. That bit of lore has always reminded me of the opening cutscene and makes me wonder if our abyss sibling is actually the seelie from that story, with us as the outlander. At the very least, i think that story is a major clue to the true identity of Aether and Lumine, and could help us understand why our abyss sibling is both recorded in Irminsul and not a Descender. Or, alternatively, Paimon could be that seelie and us the outlander... with neither of us having memories of it, since they were erased.
It would be interesting that we would have been affected by a previous memory-erasure, since we were "immune" to the re-write of Irminsul. Unless our memory was erased by an even higher power, or there was a specific circumstance that lead to our present memory retention? It's hard to parse out.
@@ZijnShayatanica - Since making this comment, I looked over the known and theorized timelines of Teyvat's history, and after looking over some other lore theory videos, I'm thinking NOW... That it's unlikely that the twins are this seelie and outlander, considering that their attempted escape being stopped by the Sustainer happened only after the fall of Khaen'riah. But it's still an interesting parallel to me. Instead, it's entirely possible that the Goddess of Flowers, who many believe was the sole Seelie to survive the arrival of the Second Who Came and maintain her form when her whole race was cursed, may have been the seelie in that story. Though it remains to be seen who that outlander was.
Exactly. She would also feel a kind of sadness about the Seelies based on knowing what happened. It doesn't mean she is a Seelie but just that she knows about them
9:17 NO WAY! THIS IN GENSHIN STORYLINE PREVIEW TRAILER “TRAVAIL”, AT THE END, THE NARRATOR SAYS, THAT WHEN WE DEFEAT HIM, THE THREADS OF ALL FATE WILL BE OURS TO REWEAVE. PLEASE GO WATCH IT
Yupp agreed also i think Paimon somewhat lost her memories from her past life and is living her life through Teyvat just through her knowledge as uk..... also they say that "The sky of Teyvat is Fake..." what about it??
I tried to look at physical aspects of the moons myself in a video and I can't say that as depicted they are necessarily different moons. All are based off Earth's moon. The open world moon and loading screen moon are most similar. The detail on them are the same with a minor difference being the lighting. The open world is full, and loading screen is a little off full. One possible explanation is the open world moon isn't an astronomical object but a projection of sorts, especially as it is always full. Spiral Abyss moon is also based on Earth's moon but it is rotated and scaled quite differently from the others. Actually, watching this video I see there is a 4th version of a moon in game. The one in the background of Khaenri'ah looks close to Spiral Abyss moon at first glance, but its features aren't placed in exactly the same location. I don't know if these are just lazy asset creation, or if there is a specific lore reason for them to look how they look.
There's a detail that people seem to miss everytime though, the unknown god or "Sustainer" that you see at the opening of the game doesn't have a crown on their head. As we've seen so far, symbolism is utmost important in Genshin's lore, therefore I suspect that character isn't a god at all, or at least doesn't have that status anymore ?
also the word "shining shade" really matches the 3 portals that the unknown god creates in the intial cutscene in fact the 3 portals kinda have the shape of "shining" stars but are obscured and black just like a "shade" so that adds more to the theory of the unknown god being a shining shade👀
Don’t open if your not in the new archon quest at natlan Can you make a theory where mauvuika broke the sky or the ‘false sky’ was broken and when it broke we saw two or one broken moons so please explain
Add to that that it's the same imagery as "Unknown God's" power, the red squares that make up thing. When Mavuika broke the false sky, it also had the same red blocky stuff. Is that related to abyss or... her?
This totally makes more sense than paimon being the primordial one. And I especially like the idea of 3 moons+ sun being the 4 shades considering neuvillette mentioned the shades have devoured each other. I wonder if that Zhongli and deshret are actually sun's sons.
This was awesome, + 1 subscriber! I saw a few of these bits and got me wondering...like the Ion in Enkanomya not being able to read her fate and all, but could never have the whole picture with all the collected thoughts. This looks most plausible identity for Paimon, but lets see what this game has on the sleeve.
Me: sees guidelines Also me: **smirks** According to source A B and C, Aether and Lumine are actually the same person. They just have severe multi personality disorder
BTW, that symbol on her chest 100% signifies something very specific in the hoyoverse universe. It's not a spoiler considering what it is, but I'll not mention it incase you'd want to find out yourself. Just remember, despite Genshin appearing to be completely different from the Honkai games, it's been officially stated that they are all in the same universe.
If the primodial one created 4 shining shades (time, life, space, death) and 3 were moons, the 4th was not a moon sister but still a shade who was it, istaroth? nabu malikata? Maybe none of the moon sisters are permanently dead maybe they''re all just new characters in a new samsara. The calamity already happened so the original structure was broken, no more moon sisters will walk the heavens again. A interesting little theory anyway well done syncx.
Thank you! I think Istaroth could be the third moon sister with Paimon and The Sustainer as the other two. The fourth shade may be the sun, Phanes, if it isn’t actually the Primordial One since Before Sun & Moon just says it “may have been Phanes.” If that’s not correct, the sun could be the shade of life that created Egeria since the sun nurtures a planet’s life. But we’ll have to wait to learn more about them before we know for sure.
I have had theories about this in the past but none of them were conclusive sadly. There are too many overlaps. My theories were thus. The moon sisters were either the sisters of Phanes. Or the daughters.. In either scenario they could represent the shades.. Phanes as the Primordial One and Logos, Aria as Life, Sonnet as Space or Death as Space and Canon as Death or Space. Which would make Kairos Time and the Seelie Ancestor.. 🫠 Like I said though, this is all loose threads based on wikan goddess, Celtic and greek mythology theories. I don't think it's concrete enough evidence. If I am guessing identities then Aria is Asmoday? Sonnet is Paimon and Canon is Barbeloth. I don't fully believe in this myself though so yeh.
@@F1ll1nTh3Blanks If paimon is sonnet which sort of fits, I dont think death suits her, space though since it's travel friendly might be a better fit.(and how she eats she must have a black hole inside her anyway ;) So canon would be death. But I dont think barbeloth fits there either, maybe that old theory about columbina being it?
Oh, that reminds me of Albedo's story quest. When we meet him, he brought up the fact that Paimon and the Traveler are related to the stars (and with how Paimon reacted to what he sais, it's as if she's trying to hide something)
(I haven’t watched the video yet) i think she is related to celestia and a god, a very minor one. but i also believe her to be well meaning; I think she genuinely cares about the traveler and is a kind bundle of joy through and through
Paimon is Sirin who holds the memories of each victim of Babylon Labs in Siberia and therefore is the inside version of the Sustainer while the Sustainer is the one who holds it together on the outside
I would actually cry so hard if we find out about a lonely character in an echoing room singing Aria Dream from the loading screen. Imagine we heard her voice the entire time but we didn't know she was actually a tortured soul. already crying just visualising it
To be honest I’ve always thought that Paimon was some divinity, I MEAN, like the archons, like the Sustainer, she can fly and it’s not exactly because of the wind. In the limited event where you can get Freminet, the Phelxie one, during the story, she is the one who plays the queen or god or something And the story ended up being real somewhat, Phelxie being the kid, the others being travel buddies, and the one travel buddy introduces / reveals herself as a god/queen WHICH MAKES ME WONDER, Paimon considers herself Aether/Lumine’s Travel Buddy, so near the end of the journey, will she reveal herself? Or will the Sustainer do that? What’s even more suspicious is that no one you meet knows who Paimon is, or at least like before they became famous or something Back in Mondstadt, she tells Aether/Lumine that because they are not from this world, they can grab power easily However, no one is like Paimon, she even has a halo/crown. Where does she get the powers from? From what people know of her, she doesn’t do anything, she doesn’t help with fights at all She doesn’t have a vision either. So she must be a form of divinity, because the archons and the Sustainer don’t need visions either… because it comes from them In the recent reveal of Chenyu Vale, Aether/Lumine calls Paimon, Mini Pie. That seems pretty normal at first, but the word Pie sounds like the beginning of Paimon, So, what if the Paimon we know, is just a lesser, more mini, powerful version of the original Paimon? Like the Dendro Archon for example, it is revealed that when Greater Lord Rukkhadevata (?) used almost all of her power, she turned into a small child. Which is now Nahida / Lesser Lord Kusanali. Nahida can also have little stars and particles near her, just more… holographic and nature green stuff. Nahida can pop up anywhere using her powers, as in she can go into peoples minds. Paimon can pop up anywhere as well, except physically, meaning that she was once someone more powerful than Nahida. Nahida didn’t remember Rukkhadevata after she was erased from existence, and because Aether/Lumine are one of the descenders they can remember things that others can’t, including the archons However, they were not awake or there for Paimon’s fall if she had one. So they wouldn’t be able to recall the truth about who Paimon once was. So Paimon probably doesn’t remember who she is either. So maybe, near the end of the journey, will the Sustainer reveal Paimon’s identity? She can probably remember everything, as she is the Sustainer. Unless Paimon does remember, but chooses to act innocent, someone who is not a god, maybe in hopes that the traveller doesn’t see her as that god. Like Furina, where she had to play a part for 500 years, around that time, there was the battle between the Archons and uhm that place where Dainsleif is from- I can’t spell. However, Furina played as a God, Paimon is playing as an innocent little fairy. Furina did it because Focalors told her it would stop the prophecy, and Focalors wanted to deceive the Heavenly Principles, the Sustainer. Paimon might be doing the same thing, trying to deceive the Sustainer. Maybe she doesn’t want the responsibility, just like how Furina doesn’t want to play as an Archon, and she’s only doing it because she thought she had to. In one of Genshin’s ads, we see Paimon giving Lumine a drink, and then she sleeps, Lumine getting a bunch of primogems in the process And at the end, she lost them all, Paimon being confused as to why Lumine is upset It was like Lumine had a dream, which is similar to how dreams can be affected in Sumeru. In the destruction of that place where Dainsleif is, Paimon might have suffered the same sort of curse as the mages. The only difference is because she is a higher divinity, she doesn’t end up looking like them. But they can both teleport and fly and make particles. This was probably a punishment from the Sustainer, getting mad at Paimon for being down there in Teyvat, like a runaway child Very similar to the Collector’s case, for people who watch The Owl House.
What makes this interesting is that if the Sustainer is one of the moon sisters. It would make sense since her counter part in Hi3 - Kiana in which her name means and associated much with the moon and moon goddess. Additionally, it also means Divine or Heavenly. Interesting stuff!
The appearing and disappearing thing isn't that big a deal as both traveler and Paimon comment that it's not different from how the traveler (and other characters) pull out their weapons from thin air and put them back The moon in teyvat's sky and the one in the loading screen are the same . Also Paimon isn't the only one who gives fates the adventurers guild, Katheryne and Liben given us fates and orimogems too Paimon's fate being not visible is also the same as the Archons, you probably need a Higher clearance access to see their fates and Paimon does share the Ars Goethia with the Archons so it shouldn't come as a surprise. The traveller's fate would've probably been hidden to if they were from this world. Teyvat's governing authorities all had 7 figures atop, the 7 Dragon sovereigns, the 7 Archons, so i believe the moon sisters are not part of the shades but are seperate entries within that Era's order of the 7 being the 4 primordial Shades and the 3 moon sisters and i don't believe neither Paimon nir the Sustainer is a moon sister because they're all dead
Unlike weapons that anyone can make appear and disappear, Paimon the only character/entity that can disappear at will, and the traveler has also questioned how she does it. • You’re correct, although the loading screen moon does have different lighting than the one in Teyvat’s sky. I should have used Ei’s demo moon as an example rather than the loading screen’s. • That very well could be why Paimon’s fate is unreadable presuming the constellations she shoots out aren’t causing the interference. • Paimon is the only person who you can *buy* fates from using the materials I listed; stardust, starglitter, and primogems. • I explained why, but believe I don’t personally they’re dead. • The seelies and moon sisters predate the archons and were tasked with leading and teaching humans before them.
The reference that Paimon is a moon can also be found in her costant comparison to smth that can be caught like a fish - there is an ancient mem of catching a moon in the water
There was a video where there was a total of 4 piamon like beings rushing to some location. Piamon was the one that got tired and fell out. I think it was a beta scene that was cut from the game.
IVE BEEN TELLING PEOPLE THE MOON SISTERS ARE INTRINSICALLY LINKED WITH MUSIC! So if music is a sign of Moon Sisters, maybe other places where music is significant in Genshin are linked to the Moon Sisters too, like the connections between Istaroth and Venti (a BARD), the fact that Seelies make a jingling tune, the fact that Nahida makes a jingling tune, the fact that the Aranara use music for a majority of their magic, the Great Songs of the Khavarena, the emphasis King Remus and Remuria had on music, the fact that the Goddess of Flowers was a dancer, so many little things tying back to that central idea of Time, Memory, and Dreams linking back to the Moon Sisters in various forms
the theory that Paimon is a moon sister makes much sense but i don't think that she is the Welkin lady. Black Swan from Honkai looks more alike to the Welkin lady, such as their head accessory. not to mention both the sustainer, paimon and black swan have white hair (black swans not completely white but a silverish light purple). also her eye color is similar to the sustainers, just less contrasted. also black swan uses tarot cards in her attacks, which can be used for fortune telling- which is related to *fates.* i think those three would make a good sister trio.
Ok i really need you to do something if you have Nuevillette. Go outside at night so that you can see the milky way/super stary streak thats in the sky. wait till he does one of his idle animations and look up. Notice the colour change? How its all rainbows? And the melusine have the ability to see things differently than humans and the melusine that described paimon as rainbows with strings up to the sky. I wonder what else Nuevillette can show us with his dragon/melusine eyes
Just think.. One day aether have to return back to from where he came.. But paimon has to stay... One day we will watch their end meet and their seperation.. We r gonna cry a fucking ocean that day
The twins are undoubtedly from Teyvat and from the unified civilization. I think the twins are one of the shades but are split into two, they could be phanes. The twins are both canon and are always foreshadowed to be the same entity. If this theory is true then Paimon would be the new sustainer and Aether/Lumine would be whatever higher power phanes or the PO was in charge of

• In a 4.4 world quest, Paimon comes off suspicious when asked about if she plays with seelies often. “Ha… sure, played with them…” This could be referencing how the moon sisters were worshiped by the seelie if it isn't hinting at Paimon, herself, being one.
• Paimon could be a reincarnation rather than a weakened version, similar to Neuvillette.

did you skipped the dialogue the first time we acquire the power of geo? Paimon sounds surprised at that time, idk about you. 🙄
@thunderwindknight I do know that, I am talking specifically talking about the first time we touch venti statue, that reaction for geo would be first time she saw someone wield multiple elements. It wasn't about us wielding a elements with vision.
Wait wait wait
Remember that one trailer when we were introduced to Liyue
So we all know that the original Traveler for MiHoyo is Aether and Lumine is the Abyss sibling
They used Lumine's model for the Liyue trailer and if you look closely you can see she already has the light element or whatever we had at the start of the game before we touched the Venti statue
So could Paimon have guided our lost sibling before we woke up from whatever seal the Unknown God had put us in for 500 years?

There's a voiceline from the traveler, I don't remember the name but Paimon says that she doesn't know how she's appearing and disappearing but she knows that she can do it. I think it's a proof that Paimon lost her powers before and memories and now she's a small being now
Think it's in Liyue when talking with Childe or Xingqiu. Something akin to how she can just float endlessly and not get tired. Paimon says she doesn't know how or why she just can and it's a 'Paimon thing'
Sort of like Nahida?
But in Fontaine Paimon mentions getting tired from flying so much. In both the Fortress and Poisson she sleeps.

I didn't know that thanks for the insight!

I really like the idea of how paimon is the one singing in the loading screen, I've always loved that song
Good take 👍
Paimon has an immunity to abyssal corruption, but the moon sister's turned against each other.
But I think it was the Primordial One that made them turn on each other.

Could be memory wipe like scaramouche? I can't recall anyone ever recognising paimon or maybe they purposefully lie/act.

@@Nova_the_starcatcher Venti himself is another enigma, more so than any of the other archons. It wouldn't surprise me if he is aware of Paimon's true identity, and Venti being sus and hiding important information from us is practically a meme at this point. and I am going to cry again.
I can't believe you forgot Melusine's quote about Paimon and Traveler, it's literally lore bomb

I may have a piggyback to add to this:
What if the Descenders are the moons… and what if your character (determined by choices) is either the abyssal or celestial moon - your sibling is the other moon?
one could be rukkedhevata/ nahida. it is not known but nahida is an alter for Theresa Apocalypse, which was made from Kallen Kaslana's genes. Since the unknown god is a paralel to Herrscher of Void, which in that case is Kiana Kaslana (at least the body) we can assume a former of them was Nahida or the Greater lord. for the 3rd one, i assume it could be Paimon. Rukkhadevata and Deshret sealed the forbidden knowledge, with Deshret being the one who sacrificed himself and Rukkhadevata being the one who cast the spell. He also used the method of making everyone forget his existence in order to forget the forbidden knowledge.
What does it have to do with Paimon and all this, well Rukkhadevata possibly used the same method that was once used in the past to seal the abyss, seal and forget

COULD BE WRONG
But i would love to see that!!
This is the most plausible Paimon theory I've heard. Well done.
Plot twist paimon is Celestia other half like how furina is with the hydro archon

Yupp agreed
also i think Paimon somewhat lost her memories from her past life and is living her life through Teyvat just through her knowledge as uk.....
also they say that "The sky of Teyvat is Fake..." what about it??
It means its a pocket universe. Genshin is a universe in the imaginary tree, like impact and star rail
Me before this video : EMERGENCY FOOD
Me after this video :
Hey paimon? My sweet best friend! my amazing companion....how are you doing today?
There's a detail that people seem to miss everytime though, the unknown god or "Sustainer" that you see at the opening of the game doesn't have a crown on their head. As we've seen so far, symbolism is utmost important in Genshin's lore, therefore I suspect that character isn't a god at all, or at least doesn't have that status anymore ?
2:05 Since people are thinking that Columbina could be a seelie, maybe Columbina will be associated with later lore including the moon sisters?
also the word "shining shade" really matches the 3 portals that the unknown god creates in the intial cutscene in fact the 3 portals kinda have the shape of "shining" stars but are obscured and black just like a "shade" so that adds more to the theory of the unknown god being a shining shade👀

This totally makes more sense than paimon being the primordial one. And I especially like the idea of 3 moons+ sun being the 4 shades considering neuvillette mentioned the shades have devoured each other.

This looks most plausible identity for Paimon, but lets see what this game has on the sleeve.
what an awesome thought provoking theory, subscribed !
This such a great and interesting video! Thank you for this analysis!

According to source A B and C, Aether and Lumine are actually the same person.
Paimon already told us - ‘Paimon is Paimon’.
The 4th was the Seelie Ancestor maybe. I think Phanes represents. Logos.
Like I said though, this is all loose threads based on wikan goddess, Celtic and greek mythology theories.
Never heard of the Paimon king 👑 huh he's even in helluvaboss
(I haven’t watched the video yet) i think she is related to celestia and a god, a very minor one. but i also believe her to be well meaning; I think she genuinely cares about the traveler and is a kind bundle of joy through and through
+ I also think she’s a baby god who maybe fell out of celestia
The sustainer destroyed khaen riah you can see it by the cubes that she use
Paimon is Sirin who holds the memories of each victim of Babylon Labs in Siberia and therefore is the inside version of the Sustainer while the Sustainer is the one who holds it together on the outside
Luxemborbe in the Archon Quest "Akasha Pulses, the Kalpa Flame Rises" also said that the Traveler's hair was just like the sun
paimon is not guiding us, we are guiding paimon to godhood
Paimon is too adorable 🤍
I would actually cry so hard if we find out about a lonely character in an echoing room singing Aria Dream from the loading screen. Imagine we heard her voice the entire time but we didn't know she was actually a tortured soul. already crying just visualising it
To be honest
I’ve always thought that Paimon was some divinity, I MEAN, like the archons, like the Sustainer, she can fly and it’s not exactly because of the wind.
In the limited event where you can get Freminet, the Phelxie one, during the story, she is the one who plays the queen or god or something
And the story ended up being real somewhat, Phelxie being the kid, the others being travel buddies, and the one travel buddy introduces / reveals herself as a god/queen
WHICH MAKES ME WONDER, Paimon considers herself Aether/Lumine’s Travel Buddy, so near the end of the journey, will she reveal herself? Or will the Sustainer do that?
What’s even more suspicious is that no one you meet knows who Paimon is, or at least like before they became famous or something
Back in Mondstadt, she tells Aether/Lumine that because they are not from this world, they can grab power easily
However, no one is like Paimon, she even has a halo/crown. Where does she get the powers from? From what people know of her, she doesn’t do anything, she doesn’t help with fights at all
She doesn’t have a vision either. So she must be a form of divinity, because the archons and the Sustainer don’t need visions either… because it comes from them
In the recent reveal of Chenyu Vale, Aether/Lumine calls Paimon, Mini Pie.
That seems pretty normal at first, but the word Pie sounds like the beginning of Paimon,
So, what if the Paimon we know, is just a lesser, more mini, powerful version of the original Paimon?
Like the Dendro Archon for example, it is revealed that when Greater Lord Rukkhadevata (?) used almost all of her power, she turned into a small child.
Which is now Nahida / Lesser Lord Kusanali.
Nahida can also have little stars and particles near her, just more… holographic and nature green stuff.
Nahida can pop up anywhere using her powers, as in she can go into peoples minds.
Paimon can pop up anywhere as well, except physically, meaning that she was once someone more powerful than Nahida.
Nahida didn’t remember Rukkhadevata after she was erased from existence, and because Aether/Lumine are one of the descenders they can remember things that others can’t, including the archons
However, they were not awake or there for Paimon’s fall if she had one.
In one of Genshin’s ads, we see Paimon giving Lumine a drink, and then she sleeps, Lumine getting a bunch of primogems in the process
And at the end, she lost them all, Paimon being confused as to why Lumine is upset
It was like Lumine had a dream, which is similar to how dreams can be affected in Sumeru.
In the destruction of that place where Dainsleif is, Paimon might have suffered the same sort of curse as the mages.
The only difference is because she is a higher divinity, she doesn’t end up looking like them. But they can both teleport and fly and make particles.
This was probably a punishment from the Sustainer, getting mad at Paimon for being down there in Teyvat, like a runaway child
Very similar to the Collector’s case, for people who watch The Owl House.
Lmfao mini pie
This was the most sensible and logical thesis I have watched related to Paimon not gonna lie
this really puts everything together of what Paimon is
I thought she was the last person alive from the seelie race since both can fly and guide people
Omg i love this theory with my whole hearth, and if that theory is right or not i would love to see AU's with this theory!!!!
What makes this interesting is that if the Sustainer is one of the moon sisters. It would make sense since her counter part in Hi3 - Kiana in which her name means and associated much with the moon and moon goddess. Additionally, it also means Divine or Heavenly. Interesting stuff!
I love how the fact there is mostly food on her mind last week i started playing this game and i been hearing nothing but food from her
The appearing and disappearing thing isn't that big a deal as both traveler and Paimon comment that it's not different from how the traveler (and other characters) pull out their weapons from thin air and put them back
The moon in teyvat's sky and the one in the loading screen are the same .
Also Paimon isn't the only one who gives fates the adventurers guild, Katheryne and Liben given us fates and orimogems too
Paimon's fate being not visible is also the same as the Archons, you probably need a Higher clearance access to see their fates and Paimon does share the Ars Goethia with the Archons so it shouldn't come as a surprise.
Paimon is the god of time look how paimon menu pauses the game also you can move forward in time thanks to paimon menu
Naaaaaah,,,
Paimon is the God of Tutorials. Decended from land of Settings.
The reference that Paimon is a moon can also be found in her costant comparison to smth that can be caught like a fish - there is an ancient mem of catching a moon in the water
12:29 just like in the trailer, the guy says that only then, fate will be ours to reweave
literally I thought paimon is the heavenly principle ..now I'm more puzzled up with new moon sisters.
Bro is onto something
That's... actually make sense
There was a video where there was a total of 4 piamon like beings rushing to some location. Piamon was the one that got tired and fell out. I think it was a beta scene that was cut from the game.
Paimon reminds me of Fidget the nimbat from Dust an elysian tale
this better not be fucking clickbait
Aether fished paimon
*on the background Lumine fishes paimon*
The triquetra symbol is also present on Mjolnir, the hammer of Thor, who is also the God of Thunder
And another Painon Theory... I'M IN!!
the theory that Paimon is a moon sister makes much sense but i don't think that she is the Welkin lady. Black Swan from Honkai looks more alike to the Welkin lady, such as their head accessory.
not to mention both the sustainer, paimon and black swan have white hair (black swans not completely white but a silverish light purple). also her eye color is similar to the sustainers, just less contrasted.
also black swan uses tarot cards in her attacks, which can be used for fortune telling- which is related to *fates.*
i think those three would make a good sister trio.
Imagine we find the other sibling and it turns out that pain is on the dark side and we have to win a war against her
Paimon has the name of a demon. I think that says everything
I wonder what else Nuevillette can show us with his dragon/melusine eyes
it seems to be his rain stopping idle animation, but please check it out it gives me goosbumps
Paimon is an elf from Honkai impact 3rd and the sustainer is the herscherr of the void.
hmm interesting. tho in this means we need to talk more about the missing sisters.
If this theory is true then Paimon would be the new sustainer and Aether/Lumine would be whatever higher power phanes or the PO was in charge of
We reading her mind and never sleep with this one!
