  • When weather allowed us we did some work on our future home...it was a bit dusty ;)
    Last night we had big storm with strong winds, loads of rain and some lightening and this caused flooding in our gardening ... so we tried to fix it as much as possible

    Suggestion: I would think that a water pump would be a great tool to keep on a farm that has no plumbing !! You know as soon as you sell it, you will need it!! And if decide to sell it, I would think your buddy Theo would definitely want to buy it!! Just sayin’!! Love you guys ..

    The rain in Spain Lies mostly in the plain,tis a very big plain 😁 keep going that rock is shaping up nicely to divert the water.At least Guffy looks up to you as his rock,i loved the way he was trying to stay awake in the car, and remember G, to much juice can also shift Rock's 😁🐔🐔

    Since you get all that rain this time of year, you could build a nice pond with that would hold all the water for your dry times and of course that would allow you to have the proper water when you need it. Win Win . How lucky you really are

    Beautiful the yellow granite, beautiful rock. 🌱

  • @insAneTunA
    @insAneTunA 8 місяців тому +4

    Buy or make some feathers and wedges to split the rock. It is much much easier and it produces far less dust and it is far less physical work, and you can split fairly large pieces of granite at once. The idea behind it is that you drill some holes inline with each other and then you drive these metal wedges inside the holes with a hammer, and eventually that will split the rock with no effort at all. It doesn't matter how large the rock is as long as you have enough wedges.

    • @portugalitis
      @portugalitis  8 місяців тому +1

      I have bought wedges last year, but with that type of rock it’s quicker to cut and crush then drill holes

    • @insAneTunA
      @insAneTunA 8 місяців тому

      It does require a good quality drill, the right tools make all the difference. 👍@@portugalitis

    Now you've had your rain. I hope you stored it all as you will need it later. Now you need to get all your veg seed sown as the next rain could be 4-5 weeks away so you will get them in now while the top soil is damp.

    Wow that is some rain you are having, not good for your potatoe growing though eh. Where I come from in Scotland they are called Tatties lol. Keep digging at those trenches you will soon divert all that water towards the stream. Guffy was trying to help lol his wee tail wagging away. When we were over there 2022 I was buying huge net bags of oranges, so cheap to buy. Freshly squeezed juice every morning was just delicious. Can't wait to see your wee house when it's finished xxxx
