My husband and I were married for 50 years and we used to tease each other and laugh. I see that in you two, keep on laughing. Guffy makes me laugh too, he needs his own seat on the tractor, easier to guide you 😅. The kitties look happy as do the chicks. It's looking very dry on the land hope you have enough water. I have done the same as you with a hollow log stump. Chicken's cat's and Gruffy always entertaining 😊

G has anyone suggested using diatomaceous earth in your chicken dirt bath. And after every cleaning of chicken house spread some out. It is good for mite control which effects feather folica.
Hey .. no no one did .. but you know who helped us? Guinea birds !!! they managed to get rid of mites .. :)

And we begin to see the start of the winter garden! I have a question, is the “yellowish growth” on those trees a type of mushroom, is it edible? I think that “plant” pot for succulents is perfect, they don’t need to much water, so it should last a long time! Great Idea. Oh and just love the baby chicks and Mama in their secure area!
apparently that mushroom called "chicken of the woods" and it should be very tasty .. BUT we didn't tasted .. maybe one day we will do .. ;) I was thinking to get succulents in the pots and to put them in the trunk .. that would be even better ... or and maybe one orchid>?? that would be lovely G x

The guinea fowl are interesting. Are they boy/girl to breed? Are they laying eggs? Will you get more for meat birds? Apparently their good for meat and eggs - I’m not sure since I’ve never eaten their meat or eggs. Your hen is a good mother.

Does the lavender in your flower garden flower all year round? I have lavender that does and l deadhead to keep the flowers coming.
Well It wanted to flower sort of but got so hot and they just dried even if I watered them ... I think they are flowering just in spring .. I bet you got Real Lavender !!! which I need to plant as well them ones are different sort of lavenders :) Gx

Is Portugal very dry?
Parts are quite dry like the centre interior. It hasn’t rained much at all for at least 2 months. Properties with wells or streams are obviously an asset.

interesting, I've been using a chainsaw for 30+ years, I've never seen, nor heard about one, causing a fire, even in our very dry months - how does this happen?
I guess you should message Portuguese officials who created them rules, I personally never heard or seen anything like that before either 😁
We had a horrible fire here in Colorado from a highway worker hitting a stone with metal and sparking a fire, it only takes one spark. Yes, wind played a part, I'm sure. Dry. Scrappy must not live in the American west, or central Portugal. 💯💥🔥
