The story of King Midas is a classic cautionary tale about the dangers of greed. His insatiable desire for wealth led him to make a wish that ultimately ruined his life. It's a reminder that true happiness comes from more than just material possessions. Thanks for sharing this interesting video!
@@datboredsimp15 incorrect, its only his touch that is golden ie of his hands. Otherwise his sandals and clothes would turn to gold just being in contact with his body.
Actually the story goes that he wanted to have more treasures than he had so he asked Dionysus to give the power. Of course later on his daughter ended up being a statue of gold due to the fact that she rebelled against her father and he asked for Dionysus to help him and Dionysus told him that Midas must take some things that he touched and threw them in the river and Midas did it along with bathing.
Midas was a king of Phrygia who was blessed by Dionysos with the ability to turn anything he touched into gold (this was Midas' request). Unfortunately, Midas had no control of this power and accidentally turned literally everything he touched into gold which prevented from eating and almost caused the death of his daughter. Dionysos then removed the blessing and allowed Midas to wash his gold power into a river which reversed the effect
If only he was more careful with his words. "I wish for everything my left hand touches it would turn to Gold" or better yet, give the golden touch a command word or phrase to activate the power.
mm interesting this history King Midas The Golden Apple call us mm i think i saw from the game god of war 2 from the game ugh jah i think i saw too well maybe i can not remember that but it's this history yup absolutely i love your history my brother father.
I don't think that would work either. How would the glove know not to work? I feel like the only way to fix the issue is to have the golden touch be at will
Midas in God of War ended being insane with this curse, his cruel death will always be stuck in my head
This has gotta be one of the best happy endings in Greek Mythology. No wars, no evil monsters and no one dies a terrible death.
one the best Greek myth short, sweet ,simple but yet powerful
From the greedy and ambitious monarch, to a wise and humble traveler. A pretty good story for the namesake of a most memorable ability.
At least this story between humans and Greek Gods sorta had a happy ending.

...and then Apollo gave him donkey ears for insulting him.
The end
The oldest moral lesson in the book. Money can not buy happiness.
There was a vid on hippogriffs but was taken off. Will it come back?
Definitely one of my favorite Greek mythology with a happy ending.
I hope in the future we get to see a Comic version of The Journey to the West😊 on this channel
A full comic of all 101 chapters? Probably not. That'd take far too long. It'd be cool though
U know with all that gold he could just hire people to feed him😂
That would still be useless as the food will still turn into gold the moment it touches his mouth

@@drrohanjacob then why did the piece of bread turn into gold even though he never touched it with his hands?
@@Flugs0 it went through the fork to the food.

At least a happy ending 💛

Neeh, actually...🤓☝🏻Why don't you make your own channel and tell the story your way?

This was one of my favorite stories when I was a child, but I didn't know it had an happy ending
"Touch me, Midas! Make me part of your design! Not to guide us! I feel fear for the very last time!"

Here's an idea how about wish for a glove that turns anything into gold GENIUS

I call it the GOLDEN TOUCH
Money can make life easy but it can't bring happiness.
Not me though😂😂
I knew about this story but I didn’t know it has a good ending.
The scary cruse of gold
as dangerous as his power was why didn't he ask/command someone to feed him instead
How do i set the audio to original track i dont want to change it every time
3:14 lol to be continued….
I like the first one better
If it zame from Zeus, even the pebble would be pregnant with a demigod in the end
Would a pair of gloves had ever helped?

Hehe gods getting wasted
Would you expect anything less from the God of the Winepress?
FAKE STORY
Couldn’t someone feed him or does the food turn gold when it touched his mouth and teeth?
