Great video, thanks. Damn right gold is still mined in the area and further in the mountains, but for that reason they dont build many roads. To kee[ people out. What the hell did the tour guide, have on her head? Love it. Oh the lady of the Chilkoot, during gold rushing times. It was loves perseverance, and it was love kept him alive. Get up dogs, you aint tired. !!
I spent a summer as a tour guide on that dredge. My last tour was as much fun as the first one! It is an amazing site, and the backstory is interesting as well.
I’m watching this at 2am after getting back from diamond tooth girdies and had a sour toe cocktail with supper. Been in Dawson for 9 hours now but I love it here, such a small town feel, and I am originally from a town smaller than this
I have to say I LOVE guided history tours and this was a fantastic one. I love when you guys put up things like this because I get to expirence these places and tours I'll never get to go to myself!
That was so nice that the guides were cool with you taping part of their tours - so interesting! Looking forward to your next video. Have to admit, miss seeing your special "Adventures to/in Alaska" intro. How about adding something like "Adventures after Alaska"? :)
The tours were both so awesome! We talked to the first guide and she said they aren’t actually allowed to take tips We miss that intro too! We do have a new updated intro!
We LOVED your Alaskan adventure!!! Thank you for sharing!!! Now, more adventures in Canada! Yay! Wise choice: milkshake over the dead man's toe...lol! The tour guides sounded awesome!
If that teaser at the end of this video means you are going up the Dempster then yee haw! My travel companion of almost 50 years and I have done it 2.5 times (twice to the Arctic Ocean, once just to the Arctic Circle). Man, I am looking forward to this...
Here's hoping that your "going north" experience (alluded to at the end of the video) is the Dempster Highway, up to Tuktoyaktuk. That would be so cool to see. Or even just part way up the Dempster. Continued appreciation and thanks to you for your excellence in video production :)

Hey guys. Greetings from Calgary, Alberta. Love your content! Excellent, excellent excellent. I’ve come back to this series as I’m planning the same road trip heading up from Whitehorse to Tuk. Both of you are always so positive and upbeat. Informative and entertaining videos, and VERY well edited. Keep up the great work.
Really enjoyed this video - but wanted also to comment to tell you how much I enjoyed your entire Alaska series. I really appreciate all the work that you put into it. Great content! Thank you!
Thank you guys so much for filming the tours for your video! I love those kind of tours, and really enjoyed that! It definitely looks like one of those great towns with a rich history.
I commented on one of your previous post that I live in Alaska and have ridden my motorcycle to Dawson City and among other things have done the Sourtoe Cocktail. You commented back that you don't drink, but did get video of someone doing it and here it was. I'm really glad among the things you did is you drove up to the Dome. The view from there is spectacular. When I rode my Harley up there, it was all gravel(I assume it still is) so it was an experience, especially coming back down. But worth it.i really love your channel. You two are great.
The road to the Dome is paved now. Still very steep though! It would be a tough drive inn the van if it was all gravel. Thanks so much for watching, Tom!
The tour guides were very informative. Enjoyed hearing both. How far people traveled to stand in a line for 32-33 miles, just to be turned back, had to be upsetting. The mail has come a long ways from those days. I couldn't stomach the gnarly toe either. Oh me! Strange things happen in this world today. I paused to read the Miners Ode (if I could call it that?) Awesome video.... Never apologize for history overload. We love it! I'm with you on the toe, don't want anyone's toe touching my lips. Lol... safe travels. And thank you for sharing!
Loved the tours. You can learn a lot from them. What I can't believe is that you're in your early 30s and staying for all 3 shows was way past your bed time! Oh, Come, On!! (grin) Can't wait to see the next video, and I have a good idea where you are headed. Until next time... Travel safe.
When you're getting up early almost everyday and working 80ish hours a week 9pm is late 😂 We're so excited to share what's next! Thank you for watching!
We've been writing a song around the story of the sourtoe whisky and inspired by the alaska gold diggers, called Dawson City! Great Video by you guys, thanks for sharing your trip
Such a fab video guys. I really loved your guide at the start, the topics she covered on her tour were very up my street. It was fascinating to hear how long it would take travellers to reach Dawson City, I never would have guessed they'd be stuck in winter, or why. Crazy that they did 'the worlds most boring conga line' that many times (I loved her analogy of this ❤) The saloon was super interesting, including how the bar men would get their tips. Then best not to get me started the post. We're just so used to the internet now, but the idea of having to stick a letter to a tree 🤯 Mind blown! Can't get over how cheap those tours were either. Very excited to hear you'll be heading North - you got me on that one as it wasn't expected. After a quick look on a map, my money is going on Tuktoyatuk. I remember a very long time ago looking at a tour in Alaska where taking a flight out to Tuktoyatuk was an optional extra activity so it says to me there must be something of interest...
You would have loved both of those tours! They were very entertaining and packed with fun tidbits and info! The Chilkoot Trail did not sound like a fun time. I thought the bartender shaking out the gold dust from their hair was fascinating too! We're so pumped to share the upcoming wild journey!
Great video...I fact checked😉...as I lived in Dawson City for 6 years in the '80s. Worked as a tour guide by day for a few years, and blackjack dealer at Gerties by night. And I worked in the bar where toe was stored back then...but still haven't done it.😂 Still live in the Yukon and love visiting Dawson a few times a year. You should put the Chilkoot hike on the list for a future trip. Skagway to Bennet, then train to Carcross. Definitely a 'real hike' but all my sons and husband have done it. It's pretty epic, beautiful views and you'd probably love it!
😂😂😂 I'm so glad I came across this coz I'm from Manchester UK 🇬🇧 and the Tour guide Elaine is my Cousin 😂 this just proves that it is a small world, I had no idea that she would be in this video whatsoever 🤷🤣🤣🤣 and it was great to watch 💯💯😉💜
So much good information given by Elaine and Denny…fun to listen and learn! You can drink it fast, you can drink it slow, but your lips must touch the gnarly toe! 🤢🤮 The milkshake was a much yummier option! 😂 so much beauty in Dawson City! Also can’t forget about the cool dance moves! Keep 💃🏾! Travel safe!
Beautiful Dawson City! A place to definitely visit and explore. I think I'll pass on the Toe and whiskey though 😳and people actually do the drink!! I would pick a milkshake over a black qnarly toe any day! Great video and of course, love the dancing at the end! If me and my hubby did dancing like that and videoed it for the world to see, our kids would disown us!🤠 Keep up the great work and take care! Stay safe!
Another interesting historical video. One question, what is the toe made of? Never mind I looked it up and it is really a mummified toe preserved in salt. I don't know if I would do it. First, I might have to have a couple of," clear shots", before the one with the toe in it. Thanks for the video. Dawson looks like a fun place.
Hello Adventurers😊😊...HEY Wait for us...where is our milkshakes...NOT FAIR😋! Wow, what about that nasty rotting TOE! Dawson City is quite a cool town. OUTSTANDING VIDEO👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍!
Hello Adam and Kathryn! I haven't commented in a long while. Just wanted to say I enjoyed your Alaskan adventures. This trip to Dawson City was totally awesome. Especially loved the guided tours. I've been enjoying some adventures of my own here in the wonderful west. Look forward to your northern travels.
I was just in Dawson a month ago. I didn't kiss the toe either. The Parks Canada tours were awesome. I'm surprised you didn't do a tour at the First Nations Trondek center or at least bring it up in your video. Yay, you're showing your Dempster Highway video next week. I'm excited as that is the one thing I haven't done yet.
Sounds like you may be headed up the Dempster Highway. That would be my guess. 🙂 We were only in Dawson for 1 day so we really appreciated you sharing your tours with us!
I passed through Dawson City on a solo Illinois to Alaska motorcycle trip. I believe I had dinner at a restaurant that was in the same building as the “toe”. The owner of the place (who also road motorcycles) came over and asked if it was my bike sitting outside. He then asked if he could join me and talk to me about my trip. I enjoyed his company and conversation especially since I was traveling solo. He actually took care of my dinner check, how cool is that? Later took the ferry across the Yukon River and stayed at a Hostel on the other side. Anyhow, thanks for bringing back some memories!
What a great history lesson! I learned how you got your name at 8:53. "Adventures of general delivery A to K" I had that same milkshake once and probably what you don't know is that the shakes are handmade and the servers take turns dipping their toes in each shake they serve! I know, right!🦶 Y'all keep having fun!
After being in New England for the fall which I described as graceful beauty I live in the Northwest in Portland and I love Rugged beauty. This video is rugged beauty at its best.
What a nice group of tours and experiences in Dawson City. The city tour that the lady gave was really impressive for the few dollars that it cost (I hope she got tipped).
Hey A&K....we LOVE the Yukon from your videos. Good job as always. But .... we had to laugh. We are two separate generations for sure. No big deal just funny. No alcohol? No nightlife? No gambling? Just funny to note the differences. Yes, we are your parent or grandparent's age. Keep up the good work. Doug and Pam Belen New Mexico U.S.A.
Going back and watching some of your previous videos... Dawson City is so interesting... and, only 3,300 miles away from me in Arizona! Some day... Gold rush days (same here in the Southwest) and booming towns were quite interesting times, and wow, what people did (and still do, I suppose) to chase a dollar. I respect that you don't drink, and won't make any excuse or reason why you should to change your mind. I enjoy a few cold brews while camping or on vacation. Also, while on vacation, I don't mind staying up late to take in the nightlife (I live close to Las Vegas and visit often). You guys hit a goldmine with that pork sandwich and meat/cheese board after taking in all the shows the night before. Keep living well. Pete - KI7LIL
Oh it's just around the corner from you 😂😜 Dawson City is a special place. Unlike any other we've been to considering how well they have maintained it. Yes it's just a personal decision we've made. We of course don't pass any judgement on those that do! Nothing wrong with it as long as it's done responsibly. The sandwich and cheese board were delicious! That was a great spot! Thanks and thanks for watching, Peter!
@@AdventuresofAplusK All sounds good. Closing out the year here and just wanted to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy & prosperous New Year. I'll check back in early January to see where things start taking you in 2023.

I usually get bored with history tours but this was fascinating!! You two are so interesting! Glad I found your videos.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
What a fantastic tour of an interesting town. That lady deserved a good tip after that.
She was fantastic! We asked and they aren’t allowed to accept tips, but they definitely deserve it!
Wow what a detailed description of what the miners had to do to get to Dawson City!
What a journey!

haha enjoy it!
So fun! I was expecting you guys to do some can-can at the end. A missed opportunity. Lol
Check out the end of the next one! 😊
The restaurant at the end was so nice!
Yes it was!
What a nice group of tours and experiences in Dawson City. The city tour that the lady gave was really impressive for the few dollars that it cost (I hope she got tipped).
The tours were both so awesome! We talked to the first guide and she said they aren’t actually allowed to take tips
Don't worry. Govt. Employee ...they get paid pretty well.

What a great history lesson!
Another great video. Thank you.

Thanks for watching!
Those tour guides gave so much great information! I can't believe the tours only cost $6.25 CAD. What a deal!
The tours by Parks Canada are a steal!
Safe travels. Gorgeous video !!
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
What a cool tour! I can't imagine paying for things with a bag of powdered gold. I don't mind the history dump at all.
We thought that was wild too!
Cheers I'm in Dawson City walking around these places.👍👍👍😊😊😊
Glad we could help!
@@AdventuresofAplusK 🖐🖐🖐👍👍👍

This was a Kona free episode, and I am NOT amused! ❤️

Or both! 😊
My guess is you guys went up to Tuktoyaktuk or at least tried too. Look forward to seeing how your adventure compares to mine.
Stay tuned! 😊
What brand and model of drone, do you use for your aerial shots? They really add a lot to them!
All of our gear is linked in the description and pinned comment 😊
Jack Londons cabin is there.
Are you guys heading up to the Beaufort Sea at Tuktoyaktuk?
Mayyybe 😊
I did the Sourtoe Cocktail when I lived in Yukon. It is very salty. And not pretty. Glad I did it.
It’s just not something we’re into. We’re glad you liked it, though 😊
Hello, I enjoyed walking around Dawson City with you. I've been here for a month and a half now. Arrived at the very coldest time. I think I'll live here for a long time.I stayed on your channel, let's be friends.🤝🤝🤝🖐👍😊
Lots of interesting history, great sandwiches, but no " PIE". Was expecting to here about Seargent Preston of the Yukon .👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️
That’s one show we haven’t seen but have heard a lot about! Dawson is fun, historic place!
@@AdventuresofAplusK I'm showing my age when talking about Seargent Preston lol.
I enjoyed all the history, thanks! And while I drink I’d be a big no on the sourtoe cocktail! 🤐
No thank you to the toe!
