A couple of months ago I wrote to Tim asking if he thought Mick Goodrick's Falling Grace etude book would ever come out. I also asked if he might do something like that if not (he wrote back that he thought the book might eventually come out, and that the material was amazing)... I've been working some spread triad material in the past few days, and then this gem drops! Falling Grace, indeed! Took some time this morning to work it up. Thanks Tim!
Thanks for the comment!
Thank you Tim. This one is a gem! I'm gonna be practicing this! This should open new insights on harmonic motion. Grateful for your playing 🙏
Thank you!
That is great Tim! Always delivering gold material
Thanks!
The chord voicings are beautiful. Very nice.
I appreciate that!
@@TimMillerGuitarAbsolutely, Tim. I’m still working with your 212121 books every day. I especially enjoy the exercises with the fingerings and etudes in the second book. Inspirational.
Beautiful voicings as always
I love spread triads! Sounds great!
Thanks for listening!
Love the open Triads Tim!! Hope all is well grateful for ya man!
Thanks Preston!
coincidentally, this what happened to me recently.
after years being in standard jazz combo situations with bass, and mostly playing 7-chords, I started composing for a relaxed duo, and I found myself playing mostly spread triads. I guess when there's more space, 7-chords are just too much information for listener's ears, spread triads are rich enough.
I always knew about spread triads and they sounded cool, but there was no musical situation to use them, and now it just happened naturally.
thank you Tim for a colorful illustration, the etude is beautiful!
Thanks so much!
Nice! I really appreciate your sensitivity of touch no matter what you’re playing✨
I appreciate that!
Wow Tim, Thanks !
First of all, your guitar looks very nice and super playable. I like the colour.
Next is your voice kind sir. Why are you so calm? Wow.
I might give this a go soon. Thanks for your chord leading tutorial Tim !
So awesome!
Amazing!
Thank you!
Hello! Could you improvise on these harmonizations of the triad that you published yourself? Sincerely from Russia!
Love that Kiesel
The SH550 is a great instrument.
Very nice thanks. Transcription available?
Is this in your volume 2 etudes book?
I found it and signed up. Thanks! Look forward to soak up the wisdom.
Great, I hope it is useful for you!
So when you are saying "voice leading" in this context you are simply referring to the voicing that is closest rather any sort of chromatic approach?
Beautiful. Is this in your book ?
This etude is not in my etudes book, only on the timmillermusiclessons.com website. Thanks for listening!
Where in the website? Thanks. @@TimMillerGuitar
I still can’t figure out the third chord to electric 😂, like a d second inversion or something I’m not smart enough to comprehend lol
I will be posting a transcription of that sometime soon :)
That sounds very baroque.
