    These were some very solid beginner tips! I sell mostly vintage on Ebay and I have branched out to Poshmark. I'm very excited to see the vintage community beginning to explore other decades to wear versus the mid-century time frame. In the area that I live, it's rare to find name brand labels, but not rare to find vintage so, that's what I focus on! A few more easy to spot tips when looking for vintage.....if the tag has words like.......made in the USA, made in Hong Kong, Made in Japan, the union label. Metal zippers in dresses/skirts, metal side zippers in dresses. Shoulder pads can be both 1940's or 1980's/early 1990's. Thanks for sharing!

      Thank you so much! Yeah, I have the same "problem" in my area. I don't find much designer or trendy labels so vintage is my go to! But I absolutely love vintage so I don't mind one bit!! Ohhh thank you for the extra tips! I found a dress this past week that seemed older than the 80s to me but has shoulder pads- I wonder if it could be 1940s?! I think it may have a metal zipper! I need to research it.

    I love vintage items. I have lots of vintage items and awesome vintage clothes. I’ve sold on eBay for 25 years but considering selling my vintage items on other platforms. I researched Etsy but it gets all so overwhelming. I’m starting to research Poshmark so thinks for the information.

    Thank you so much! I am in my 70s and have NOT kept up with the vintage trends. Still stuck in the 40s,50s and 60s when I am buying from estates and thrifting. Now I know the terms cottagecore and academia and grandma, and will hunt accordingly. My eyes are opened!

    How old does a piece of clothing need to be to be considered vintage? Thanks for the great video! Hope you hit 1,000 soon. You are so close!😊

    • @ChelseaSonshine
      @ChelseaSonshine  3 роки тому +2

      Thank you! According to popular opinion on the internet- a garment that is 20 years old is considered to be considered vintage. So that would make clothes from 2001 Vintage this year! 😳

    Thanks for including our sale in this video! Totally agree with looking on google and researching. Once we sold a feed sack dress that was worth $200 for only $50 because we didn't do enough research! :( I need to muster up the courage to model more of my items. So scary, though! -Camilla & Khang

      You're welcome! That cat sweater is definitely something I would have picked up and sold so I had to share! Oh my goodness! yeah, definitely a lesson learned there! Modeling is a bit awkward at first but you'll get the hang of it! You can do it!

    What do you do with unsold items? Do you reduce the price ? Maybe you offer it to someone :) I started to sell vintage and some of items I can't sell even for a very low price...

    • @ChelseaSonshine
      @ChelseaSonshine  6 місяців тому

      I drop the price gradually over time. I also re-list my items every 30 days so it will be fresh in search results.

  • @AlexandraHaniford

    How do you prevent multiple sales of one item that's crosslisted? Can't that cause issues if you have to cancel a sale? Still learning...thanks for all the tips!

    • @ChelseaSonshine
      @ChelseaSonshine  3 роки тому

      Good question! So, that is one of the downsides to cross- listing. You have to take down your cross-listed items immediately after they sell to avoid that happening. I normally leave stuff on Poshmark for about a week before it gets cross listed so if it's a super desirable item it normally sells there before it gets cross listed. Unfortunately, if you have a large volume of items cross listed you are bound to run into the issue of something selling on two platforms. That has happened to me a few times and I had to message the buyer and cancel the sale on the item that sold second and honor the first sale. I hope that answers your question! Have a lovely Easter!

    I’ve noticed that anything old and crappy will be called vintage on Poshmark

    • @ChelseaSonshine
      @ChelseaSonshine  2 роки тому

      One man’s junk is another man’s treasure. What you see as old and crappy others may see as desirable. If I have a lot of “old and crappy” desirable items at my thrift store that will actually sell I’ll pick them up!
