Anyone else on YT would be selling the template on their ‘passive income’ website via subscription lol. You are punk as fehk for offering the template for free while teaching the process of creating a zine.
This is a true ‘Art with No Ego.’ Selfless, inspiring and accessible to all. You are planting seeds of creativity and art. Thank you for this 👊
@@jerrrdy best comment I’ve ever gotten. Keep on keepin it real. 👊🏼
Many elements of this process would benefit from the insights of a bookmaker from binding to edge trimming. You're so close to such an amazing end product!
I was thinking the same - trimming the overlapping edges looks fine from the outside, but also reduces the margins progressively towards the center of the book. Probably not that noticeable but it would be cool to try and plan for that somehow in the layout. Great video though!
A suggestion for you. Because surely you're trimming in to the rounded corners with this order, and it
would be worse the closer you get to the middle pages.
So I'd say, get your folds, staple, cut off the excess, THEN round the corners.
It could even be a quicker process because you're not having to keep rotating the full page to clip them.
@@ChrisDN great point. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much! You've made what I've felt could be a terrifying experience a calming and smooth one 🙏🏻 I love the transparent cover.
Great video, thank you! Suggestion: You could purchase a scoring tool (around $15) and score your pages for easy folding :)
Thanks.
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much for providing the template! Looking forward to designing my first zine!
Hi viola! For some reason I’m unable to download the zine, something about archived idk what’s going on lol, I was wondering if you mind creating a link for me to download it from you by anychance?
What a great video! I always enjoy The art of photography's channel when he talks about zines and have really wanted to try to make one of my own. Your way is a fun, attainable way to start out making your own. I'm definitely going to give it a try in the near future! Thanks again for sharing your process with us and for the template as well!
@@WhateverTravis thank you so much for the encouraging feedback and thanks so much for watching
Great video, love making zines by illustration or photo but its fun to make a readable item that other people can have
Excellent! Many thanks for sharing your zine process.
@@peterroberts9580 thank you so for watching.
This looks great. Seems easy enough for very small zines. Thanks for sharing.
@@sc0ttmagoon you are so welcome and thanks for watching.
Great video! Very informative. Thank you for sharing your process.
This is so helpful, many thanks.
@@Danman4u2 thanks so much for watching 😊
how do I print this? does that require any special steps?
TY so much for this and for the template. I've been wanting to make a zine.
You are very welcome. Thanks for watching my video. 🤙🏼
I may have missed it, but what have you found is a good paper?
Great stuff
Thanks so much Cory. I appreciate that I can always count on your support. 🤙🏼
Nice one, thanks! I was thinking isn't it better to cut the edges last?
Thanks so much for watching and yes in hindsight it would be best to cut the corners at the end. :)
Where did you get the paper from Staples does not seem to sell it
Hi there. I actually got them over the print service counter. You need to ask for it from there.
@ I tried they told me they don’t sell that configuration in America.
Very nice video. Thank you!
May I ask what you used for a printer?
Thanks so much for watching. I used a fairly standard business level, laser printer I think a higher quality inkjet printer design for photos would’ve been a better choice.
Hello! When using this paper do you have any issues printing on both sides? Designing my zine right now. Thank you for the video
@@Redefining_average hey there thanks for watching. What I did was let each side dry for probably about a minute and then I printed on the other side that helped me avoid smudging.
@@islandbyfilm Awesome! This is the only video I could find with this much information. Great content, can’t wait to see more from you. Thank you
Thanks for the template!!! LOVE IT!!!!! Is it difficult to create a Magazine size? 8.63 × 11.25 inches ???
@@Dimasphotographer thank you so much for watching. I don’t see why it would be, You could just use 11x17 (Tabloid) copy paper. Leave this with me. I’ll see what I can put together.
@@islandbyfilm Thank you! I am not that tech savvy, so I am using Lightroom "magazine". I just loved using a free tool! Thank you again!
@@Dimasphotographer Thanks so much for watching :)
Great video. How many pages is this zine?
You need a paper scoring board, that will speed up your folds significantly.
Great video! I love seeing process videos. I use Canva to lay out zines, and it’s a very similar process to what you’re doing in Pages.
Thanks so much for watching. I’m actually going to try Canva next.
👏👏👏
