Thank you for making this tutorial. I was following along with a rev. 0 Dreamcast and could not get DreamShell to boot past the splash screen, and DCSDRip also wouldn't be able to back up a disc, it would just start playing it. I ended up getting a rev. 1 console as well to see if it would make a difference, and to my delight, DreamShell worked on that one. Just wanted to leave that note in case anyone else was trying this with a rev. 0 console.
Something funny, I still have a dreamcast browser 2.0 disc in its og plastic wrap lmao. It's in a box in a closet but it was from my aunt as well as her dreamcast and a few games, controllers and memory cards and such... found your channel while looking at xbox original stuff, seems you do many interesting things so imma stick around for a bit ;)
I tried your tutorial and so far, I've only managed to dump the flash memory and BIOS. I haven't been able to dump any game discs on DreamShell, as it goes to 'Unchecked Exception' whenever I try to read the name from the disc. And I can't even check it to dump it in SD.
@@ArchadesGames My english not very good sorry. I choose 16x but afterwards it is not the same as yours. The following articles and button do not appear.

@@ArchadesGames Hey, thanks again, I have dumped my BIOS as well as some of my North American Dreamcast games. I was just wondering if you knew whether DCSDrip can dump EU games such as Shenmue II on a North American Dreamcast or if it is subject to region-locking the same way that playing Dreamcast games is. I know that region locking can be bypassed with a boot disc, but I am just not sure if this tool would be capable of bypassing it. Sorry about all of the questions here, thanks again for your help!
When using the Dreamshell disk to dump GD-ROMS, are you able to remove the Dreamshell disk to put the game in and rip it, or will removing the Dreamshell disk boot back to the DC menu?
@@ArchadesGames Ah okay I see! Then how would you boot the Dreamshell app on the DC? Does it need to boot from the DCSDrip disk? I only ask for future reference since I plan to do this in a few days. I'm just waiting on my DreamShell kit to come in on Wednesday

@@ArchadesGames This is an awesome video. I look forward to dumping my own games. The main thing I hate about the disc based systems is that it is a fair bit harder to dump than the carts were. Fascinating, I don't see why Rev 0 would be so problematic but there we go. Good to know!

This should help you accomplish that!
Nice video. The dump is 1:1? Can you covert this folder to cdi or gdi?
Thanks.

hi the dcsrip says not enough disk space on sd??? i used a 32gb,64gb and a 128gb....can somebody help me please?
I only need bios file for system at retro arch how do i do that i have no dreamcast
How do you convert a game disc to GDI or CDI via a Windows PC?
Thankyou Archades Games, will it be possible to choose a different format than gdi when dumping?
Gdi is the only format to dump iirc but then it can be converted to cdi or chd
Can you dump MIL-CD games with this? Or only GDI games?
Thank you for posting this video. I was just wondering if you had a link to your dropbox that has the tools that we need to download. Thanks!
They should be in the description. If they don't work let me know
