(Not the creator just someone with tics) It depends on the person, but for me, my friends, and most people with tics I’ve seen it’s okay to laugh or make jokes as long as the tic isn’t hurting us. I would be careful repeating someone’s tic though, like saying hello after they’ve ticced hello, because it could get them stuck in a tic loop or trigger a tic attack. My rule is that if you repeat someone’s tic back to them as a joke and they have the tic again, stop there. Hope this helps!❤
i dont think so. i recently got diagnosed YES BY A PROFESSIONAL NOT SELF DIAGNOSED and i have both vocal and motor tics. when i say hi, hello, or greetings fellow human, my mom responds jokingly and i dont get offended. i just think its funny to not exactly treat me like im sick, so when she responds i think its funny if that makes sense.
For some people responding or noticing tics can make them worse. My cbit person has informed me to tell people to try and ignore them when they’re happening. I do not have Tourette’s syndrome though so it may be different.
@duckiestan Yea sometimes they’re from their seizures but usually it’s from her rubbing tic or some other self-injurious tic (they aren’t usually called self-harm tics because self-harm is intentional)
Dude ok look I'm a big fan of Harry Potter and I've been looking at what having tics is bc I had NO idea what it was before. But so this is not to make fun of you in ANYWAY AT ALL!!! So again I love Harry potter. So I love that when she put the cloth around you it reminded me of Draco! It was honestly kinda cool. Ik that's weird but it isn't always gonna be weird in a bad way.
