It’s insane what game companies get away with. They can release literal trash and NOT ONLY are they not required to refund, it’s “accepted” that games aren’t finished on release anymore. What a joke…
I'm for sure holding out for at least a year before i buy this game. This is basically a worldwide year long PAID beta 😂
while dropkicks keep pre ordering we will never see the end of it
There are basically no games finished on release anymore, games are far too complicated and shareholders want the product out to make sales. Welcome to the modern business world.
@@drunkhusband6257 Rockstar are probably the only company allowed to take as long as they want to make a finished game

In a year there will be gta 6, this game will be dead
When this game flops because it doesn't have enough launch content or a stable live service to support the demand, the roadmap will be entirely discarded and the publisher will stop giving the devs funding to develop. This happens to 90% of live service games that do the exact same thing and sell poorly or retain a minute playerbase.
"Congratulations!"

The timing was perfect.
I can see why many are nostalgic about the 1990s and 2000s in terms of gaming, as developers needed to make a quality game at launch date as the technology to update games, especially on early game consoles, was quite limited. So you essentially need to have a quality game right from the get go, or it will be a sales flop. Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is an example of how the gaming industry is right now. Launch a game that is full of bugs, issues, and missing content, and then patch it later with online updates. The fact that it is online only is also a disappointment, especially if the servers eventually shut down like The Crew.

Exactly. Just like the older test drive unlimiteds. They were online yes and if you had a online profile they only worked online........ But there was a solution: create a offline profile 😱that's what this game should have
I've seen like 4 traffic cars the entire video. Nasty work.

@MrJesseisthebest Can't do that when I bought the disc version, broke the seal so I don't think I can return it 😪

Just get a refund.. No reason to give them a loan of £80. Actually it's not even a loan, just free money since you get nothing in return. I am very excited to play this game. I tried the demo and enjoyed it. I think this will be a good game but it takes time. I don't know who is in charge at Nacon but making this always online without fully testing the servers is so dumb. I will probably get this game once they sort that out.
@@ryadhasanahmed5443 Then just put the game aside and wait for it to get fixed I guess. This is why I never pre-order. Pre-orders are the reason publishers get away with shit like this.
So this is the supposed "Forza killer"
It is….. Forza 2 that is.. 😅
Yeah forza horizon 1 killer😂
Why are games constantly being treated like this it’s like developers are making their games soulless on purpose
Noticed this too over the years….
They only care about money. They don’t care about the consumers experience…
Probably because most devs don't play the game anymore. They study to become dev not to be a gamer or have it as a hobby. That's the issue.
Plus they are probably afraid to add small details without being told to add it.
World of Warcraft has a history of devs playing the game and they added stuff that wasn't needed but it gaved more to the world and for the gamers.
This is a rare thing in today's games.
@@tkraft1442 its not the devs fault lol, at least they don't hold all the blame. Most companies control what the devs want to put in their game plus they sometimes have to do extra hours cuz theyre pushed to release it early.
The industry shifted from a business model where they make good games for profit, to one where they use psychological manipulation techniques to trick the consumer into financially and emotionally buying into the game regardless of quality. That's why they hired all these psychologists, invest hundreds of millions into marketing, and create the facade of "community engagement and transparency", over the past decade or so.
If you can get consumers to buy into something that is average, bad or doesn't even exist, you completely eliminate risk of loss altogether. That's why despite preorders being obsolete and completely unnecessary in 2024, companies push preordering in your face - as they can make a profit before a product is even released. Gamers are arguably the most scammed group of customers in consumer history, even insurance companies don't take the liberties with their customers that game devs do, and it's partly because there's no ISO standards, legislation or anything enforcing humane treatment on gamers' behalf. So companies just rob gamers blind.

They just need better optimization for both PC and consoles, that's the first thing they should fix! 30~50fps is unacceptable in 2024...
I think it’s less of optimization and more of the server based bs. Their servers are absolute shit.
I wonder when we'll actually get next gen gaming.
Not defending the game, it doesn’t look good at all
But early access is early access, EA games usually has performance issues that get fixed, it’s early for a reason, it helps them optimize it for full release

We shouldn't need a Ps5 Pro for 60 frames 4K revolution. When other game studios can do it easy. I don't understand. Why this Studio can't do it ? It's strange.
Y'all still bought it and complained it has issues. That's why I didn't buy it. The industry has been like this for a decade, everything's either rushed or borderline unplayable. Continuing to spend vast amounts of money, especially on preorders and deluxe editions, and then being somehow surprised that it wasn't what you expected, it's kind of self-inflicted at this point. I miss the days of buying a game on release and having minimal to no issues with it. Especially back in the day of the Xbox and PS2, you didn't have day one patches. You HAD to have a great game on release, because if you had anything game breaking, then you basically just printed hundreds of thousands of useless discs.
And even "indie developers" and "small studios" excuses can only go so far, too.
No thanks, I'll stick to the original Horizon 1 and 2 and TDU 1 and 2, and definitely The Crew 1 when that becomes playable again. I have no interest in anything that came out after that era. I'm fine with "missing out", because I know all of my older games continuously give me a rich, fulfilling, and polished experience through and through. I don't need the latest and greatest to experience that.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
you can only play those old games for so long before you get bored...
@@pinko-fish Good thing I have enough old games to last me my whole life, then.
And it's not that I dislike AAA games. I really don't. I WANT AAA games, but back then AAA used to mean something. People for example want Burnout to come back. I do too, but if Burnout officially came back, I wouldn't want it to be revived as a cash grab, or full of microtransactions, or full of battle passes and FOMO. Burnout was NEVER about that, and it never should be. People like old games not because of nostalgia, but because back then people actually cared about the craft. Now it's just money money and more money.
As Anton Hand, developer of H3VR said, if you're trying to figure out what will make you the most money, and you're a video game developer, you've already failed. Careers like these need genuine creativity involved, not shareholders. And hell, you don't even need a big budget to do it.
If you're concerned about what makes the most money, then go write some banking software or something, stay away from something like game development that requires you to have a passion for the craft and be determined to provide end users with the best experience you can possibly give them.
This is my opinion too, games this days feel very soul less. I love older games especially when it comes to racing, I want a story mode game which gets a couple dlc and is offline to play too with an option to play multiplayer if I’ve got friends on it.
this is rlly the truth my last pre order was cyberpunk ill never make that mistake again lol its rlly worth it to wait until you can see the game unfiltered to make a decision and avoid the companies making u feel fomo on the preorder bonuses
I would buy this if they made a commitment to release an offline patch at end of life.
End of life will end sooner than planned I guess..

I don't like that the number plates in this game all say Solar Crown because if they didn't care about obvious details like that then they clearly didn't care about any others
So I would usually agree if this was another game, but the other TDU games always had that TDU version as the plate, so I don’t know if that was necessarily an oversight in this case.

Let’s be honest, the PS5 hardware IS NOT the reason the game is not 60FPS. Other games are already doing it. The lack of performance is on the developer, not the hardware 😅. I appreciate the honest recommendation to wait on this game.

Can't blame PS5 for no 60fps, blame really poor optimisation, there are far more demanding games like Spiderman 2 and Horizon Forbidden West that don't just hit 60, they push past it with zero frame drops. It's possible to get a lot out of this console with very little sacrifices.

Crew 2 was a lot of fun at least… this game looks so boring.
The car graphics are like NFS 2, the gameplay is also NFS 2, and the character graphics look like Mario. Is this what I’ve been waiting for 3 years for and pre-ordered with such excitement
Bro there has literally been a demo and betas you can play and see footage of, and the game did not look any better in those than at release, yet you still pre-order? If you don't want this to happen stop pre-ordering games..
And about graphics, they are the least of this game's issues. The graphics rival Forza Horizon 5 in terms of level of detail and lighting in my opinion, at least on PC (idk about PS5), but of course it's subjective. What comes to character models, are they any better than FH5?
Do you mean Need for Speed: Payback, the sequel to the (unneeded) reboot, from 2017 or do you mean the actual Need for Speed 2 from, like, 1997? Saying the graphics look like Need for Speed: Payback is fair, I guess (never played that one), but, if you're claiming that the graphics in Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown look like an almost three decade old game, that's just a tiny little bit of hyperbole.

As a Hong Kong resident, I’m delighted to see Hong Kong’s map featured in a racing game, closely based on the real world.
However, the graphics don’t seem to match console or PC quality. It is at most on par with mobile games..
I’m not very optimistic about whether the current performance can support the connections when it’s officially launched.
Regarding the game details, they’re good but could be improved. For instance, while it displays Chinese text, it uses simplified Chinese characters rather than traditional ones.
It’s a bit like seeing British English words in a U.S. context, but interestingly, some textures use traditional Chinese characters.
I’ve noticed bus stops, but oddly, no buses appear-quite different from what we see in games like Sleeping Dogs.
Mistake number 1. It's always online
Dope shirt you're the GUY for racing games man, always love your videos 😁

I feel like it was pretty obvious from day one that this game was going to be a flop
The intro of the game is giving nfs most wanted 2012, I miss that game😪
MW 2012 on the Vita blew my mind when I first got the Vita.
The graphical jump from PSP racing games to that felt illegal 😂
This made me re-evaulate CarX, it already looks mediocre but this is much, MUCH worse, even with more budget, years of development and a decently big studio behind it, it's just crazy.

I noticed yesterday that you can stay logged into the game while idle indefinitely. It does not kick you out for remaining idle so if they implement an algorithm to log out players that are idle for long periods, server access may be better.

I can't take this game seriously at all. The strange clashing half-baked futurism elements, the Fast & Furious Crossroads graphics, and that ooglay outfit that Vivian woman is wearing is in itself a war crime in 4,105 countries.
I like that shirt bro!
It doesn't feel test drive-y. It's more like a generic car game
I know I can't say much since I haven't played this game myself but im gonna be honest here...the game never looked good to me and still doesn't thats just me. The characters look so emotionless and look like robots and stiff, cars look nice though just the graphics for some reason look strange even though they seem good.
Again I haven't played the game and it just came out so I feel like judging the game is a little crazy its just that its been so long since the last game and this what we get after so long yknow🤷
I agree I think the game is kinda ugly
The game in one word emotionless

Why have they gone for this cyberpunk vibe with building interiors and models? It’s so completely soulless compared to TD1 and 2. Not to mention the traffic….game looks like a solid 4 out of 10
It looks like a deserted city where nobody lives, adding people might be a bit more work but traffic should’ve been much more than it is now, there’s barely any cars on the road
36:52 Thats what I thought, Horizon 3 cover car in a game that has a long way to go to reach that masterpiece from 2017.
Even without the server issues TDU:SC needs alot of work to get a Buy from me: Many old cars, poor optimization, dead world, needless futurism, no houses, no special missions, needless Sharps/ Streets clubs, not alot if TDU vibes going on...
This is very disappointing but with that said, playing the beta and seeing the videos they were releasing, I don't think any of us are surprised. It's a shame because the original TDU was just a masterful take on free roam driving and exploration and although TDU 2 was ok, it did not live up to the original and seems it is just a downhill spiral.
I wish people would learn and stop preordering half-baked pre-alpha games from billion dollar companies.
The tdu we know and loved is officially gone
Always online bad - agree
That opening race with the orange hurucan is taking me back straight to Forza Horizon 2's opening race and I'm all for it, amidst all the issues with the game right now
Play FH2 then instead of this hot garbage, lol
Theo wearing the "always online bad" shirt in the video about TDU:SC's launch 😔👌
edit: the note about making the shirt while he was waiting to access the servers is icing on the cake lol
Still same issues as beta. And Collectors edition early access. Constant server errors and still can't apply livery/paint cars 😑 Figured there would be a day 1 patch but guess not
I really wanted to like this game but the always online stuff really makes me dislike it. Half of the issues people are having wouldn't even happen if the game wasn't always online. I guess I will have to wait until the game eventually goes on sale and they actually make the game a real Test Drive Unlimited by adding the casinos and houses and all that stuff.
Finally a BP video that doesn't act as a promotion to an established title.
I’ll be sticking to CarX Street, this is a mess as you’ve said Theo, the fact they gaslighted you in regards to the code speaks volumes, even they know they overhyped this like hell 😂 physics look janky as fuck almost like Need For Speed The Run in some areas which is worrying, the graphical quality is dubious at best as the reflections don’t seem that great and frame rate and shadow quality is below mediocre, that being said the sounds are good I will give them that, and the map itself looks amazing and enjoyable, but there’s a lot more negatives than positives and i personally believe it’s been way over anticipated and suffered the same fate as the WRC games that the devs previously released
Better just throw the full price at FH5 or 4 instead...
Being forced to race with others is bad
You can usually start races against CPU. At least so far I have been able to
@@stonebone316 But that's not what the developers want. Yes, there is a workaround at the moment. But the developers will surely patch it out over time. They seem to be completely obsessed with their multiplayer idea...
I wanted to trust they could fix the issues. They did and announced that they were gonna fix more. The issue is still that the optimization sucks and the servers make it impossible to get in. Always online sucks so much and I hope they fix this sooner rather than later then I'll play.
Test Drive Verylimited 🤣 this always online is really going well. wasted my money pre perchasing gold edition
Feel like the car list is rubbish
All we need to do is follow the damn train 🤣🤣🤣....
And people gave CarX Street, a $20 game, flack for using AI voices, which only lasted for the tutorial segments... At least the CarX's online worked and is a blast to drive.
I found carX Street to be pretty fun from what I've seen, although they should add more immersion on the map like adding npc racers roaming around which you can challenge in a drag race or something idk
@@exodus3504Nah they don't need that. The only thing that game needs is economy rebalance and some good physics.
@@contra7631 forgot about the economy and the physics but more immersion would be great
@@exodus3504 I actually find having npcs more annoying.Because having no npcs makes the night driving feels more good. Its feels like I am driving in midnight.Kinda like old underground-1,2.And this isn't a gta game so who cares.
@@contra7631 they don't have to add more npc just more interactions
This makes me appreciate crew2 even more
Car X Street was $20! Test Drive is a TRIPLE A Game with a studio that has decades of history. Let that sink in. Passion vs Greed
Car X Street isn't for passion.
You're so blind you haven't noticed Car X drift racing online how they make money on the PC version.
I think it's actually double a, however that doesn't excuse any of the problems with the game
@@kevinmorales9795 you're talking like they should just make games and give them away for free. Car X Street is passion considering they have answered what car guys have been asking for since MidnightClub LA 2008. Show me 1 triple A game that has 16 player private lobbys to cruise with friends on, tuning from the ground up to suit any drive style, and a robust customization without having to worry about name bran licensing? That along side an open world? Am I the blind one still all for $20?
@@PublicParkingEntertainmentknowing that company I'm going to wait for the console version and pay extra so I don't have to pay for any DLC.
its a double A studio, and to be honest all their games are mediocre at best
