I never played TDU2 but i played TDU1 so much. This game needs an offline patch, add the option to purchase real estate, and I'll give it a buy. The charm was cruising around a luxurious environment, doing instant action races, and just chill vibes with an expensive lifestyle.

Not having sequential turn signals on the S550 is a crime. Also I love how the model of the mustang is an auto but it has the rev counter and only 6 gears like the manual cars. It should be a 10 speed

It's a Euro spec mustang hence why it doesn't have the sequential turn signal and it has the clear tailights so defintely a euro spec but about the gearbox one is prob a bug much like other many areas of this game...

Despite the huge mistake they did with "buy the ultimate edition, get an early access and enter a server if you're lucky"... Apart from also graphics optimization, they got most of it dialed in where TDU should be. Sure, we are still missing houses and some other events with are crucial for the TDU name... But the sense of speed is good, handing is hugely improved compared to TDU2 (which isn't hard to make better handling racing game than TDU2, I think we can all agree the handling in there was absolute rubbish), the engine sounds are really good and not vaccum noises like FH and the story as much as it seems a bit "plain", I still feel like it sells the TDU underdog racer experience better than newer NFS games. Also I should mention how cheap this game compared to when FH5 got released and also NFS games. Around 50$ if you buy off Steam (and half the price on websites that should not be named), you get a truly a quite good deal as far as you wait and don't buy the ultimate edition right off the bat. People complain so much of what it is but by the time we get another open world racing game, most people would probably praise this game for what it did gave us.

THis game has nothing to do with the idea of TDU, they completely missed what the UNLIMITED part meant originally. When you had to go to literally discover the surrondings on almost endless roads, finding all the car saloons and tuning shops etc.. not mention the uneven, bumpy road surfaces, they made TDU so excitig and sometimes challenging to play.
Have you actually played it? There’s so many roads to discover on this one also

I'm already bored with this game and I havent even played it yet... boring AF, currently playing TDU Platinum and having the fun of my lifetime with it... what a game that is!! This will never come anywhere near to that!!

TDU wasn't a racing game. It was a driving game. I loved that in between races you had missions. That's what made it fun. I may have to pass on this game. I enjoy watching you play though.

this game however - has only supercars and french cars no one wants or cares to drive, i mean who in their right mind would drive a fucking citroen in a game that is supposed to be all about the thrill of driving all sorts of cars for the fun of it.
where are there almost no Japanese cars in a game that is supposed to be about CARS? why is there no traffic on the road?

the fun factor being that the map is MASSIVE and you're driving a car that can barely do 100kmh but cruising it for fun along the shorelines of Oahu or Ibiza (that was fun for sure!)
here in solar crown however - the map is tiny and you can't really enjoy a cruise with a super slow car like the 2CV in a map that's basically 80% city and 20% outskirts.
the maps in TDU/TDU2 really hit different if you love driving around the world and cruising for fun.
the map here is SO restrictive its unbelievable, you can't actually drive wherever you want across the map - you are basically locked to roads with barriers, sure you have some "offroad" roads but they are also restricted to specific areas.
so much for a test drive "Unlimited" game.
Looked too sharp on my PC yesterday but after I turned on DLAA it looked really good. Enjoying the game so far.

And it will upset newcomers who just put a Horizon5 standard to this and see all the cracks...
This game already has a small fanbase. Only we TDU fans were hyped for it before launch as if the series were about to make a complete comeback.
But sadly that's not what we got. What a shame TDU will die out like this.

In TDU2 i loved the car delivery missions where you penalized for damaging the car, those were my favourites. This should have it too.
I wanted this game for my 29th birthday but i changed my mind watching gameplay and knowing its online only. Its sad, I've spent hours playing TD5, TD6, TDU 1 and TDU 2. Those memories will forever remain but seeing how Solar Crown is, I'll wait to see if it gets better or if it goes on sale. Pleaee dont let my comment discourage you from playing this, im just a new generation old head with an obsession of nostalgia 😂😅

That's why to this day FH 1 is my all time favourite racing/car game ever. You started with VW Corrado, then you had to progres to get anything better. You may say ,,well Corrado is still a very cool car" - yes, but is more believable in that game, the story, the vibe, everything lines up great.
NFS U2 was a perfect game for the same reason. Here, grab a Civic, 206 or Corsa etc. - now race.

The game is not fun. I made it to level 20 and it just takes more and more xp to level up and the races still only give 2500 xp and 25k. It’s more than a grind to get the cars you want. It’s going to be a non paying job. Save your money and play crew or forza. Both are light years ahead of test drive

Tdu 1 and 2 had bad handling cars but I loved the games so much, houses, casinos, if it's anything like the first 2 games I'm sold.
You can actually feel the speed in this game. Most racing games feel really slow nowdays.

@@sneakworld I'm very sure they're at least completing the first year roadmap. A company doesn't abandon a big plan like that.
Sadly the game has had a rough start and I hope they can overcome it quickly. In my opinion I think the game looks quite fun but as the lacking optimization is standing my system probably can't run it. So as of now I'm not playing it (yet).
Important to keep in mind though is that in recent gaming years, quite a few game developers have been able to turn around terrible launches and gather an audience that lasts years. I'm curious to see if KT racing can do the same.
Played around 10/11 hours yesterday got to level 27 and finally bought the porche panamera, loving it so far still a few issues here and there but overall happy with it.
The shadows are a bit wonky, no? The way they're handled at least, if not shadows then overall lighting
Some of the visual tech in this game is mid-ps3 era, it's weird AF and i don't think this company has the capability to deliver anything else
The shadows, screen space reflections and motion blur are hilariously bad. Definitely like the other person said Ps3 level graphics.
It feels like the cars are just gliding over the road, almost like they’re floating. There’s no offline mode, and don’t even get me started on the optimization-most PCs can barely handle it, and it looks even worse on consoles. Honestly, this game is nowhere near ready for an official release. I might come back to it in a year or so, once the devs have had time to really work on it. Until then, all we can do is sit back, laugh, and brace ourselves for the wave of reviews that’s about to roll in.

Domination race is kinda similar to Speed Trap race in NFSMW 2005 but instead of getting highest points by going top speed through the photo radar station, you get highest points in what position you’re placed in each time you go through a checkpoint.

This game could’ve been 10x better if it wasn’t for online only. It’s bad enough that people were having so much trouble just starting the game because of the servers.
I could see this game being dead within a few months. Online only games are such buzzkill.

Aside from server issues on the 5th, I am actually impressed with Gameplay so far.
The Alpine 110 is an absolute gem to drive, I have not even thought to buy anything else so far. 😂
Took me ages to realise the car classes aren’t traditional GFEDCBASR etc. The D = daily drivers, C = cross country, G = Grand Tourers, S = Sport/Supercar(?) haven’t reached lvl 30 to find out those.
Hence often overlap in numbers of some cars with others of a different class and wider ranges. Wasn’t clear to me initially anyway but havent played a TDU for a decade, only all Forza M’s/H’s :)
This is my first TDU game and I'm having fun with it. And the game looks fine, I don't agree that it has bad graphics. Playing on Ps5 performance mode.

@@sneakworld nah, I am a huge TDU fan and have no issues with this game, it looks like TDU2 but updated, the only issue that I keep hearing from other people is the character models, and servers, i’m not expecting the character models to look like AAA game character models, as long as the cars look amazing that’s fine, It’s a racing game, and they do look amazing, and the character models don’t look that bad, they look like an updated version of TDU2 character models, the server issues is no different from any other online only games, so I’m not about to jump out the window about it, the only issue that I have is that one of the development teams went on strike days before the release date.

TDU 2 was not the best racing game out there in it's time but it was different. gave a fresh taste. because of the time it was released there were some features that I would like to see but understood that maybe the tech wasn't there yet. TDU SC is not the best racing game in post 2020 times but it is not different. the lack of features that TDU 2 had doesn't help it truly stand out. but with the road map let's hope that changes

My first racing game was either Gran Turismo 1 or Need for Speed 3, still if I was to buy this game it'd be my first Test Drive Unlimited. I played Test Drive: Le Mans for the PS1 though, but those don't compare. I would be interested in trying Test Drive Unlimited 2, but sadly that's not on Steam.

I hope it looks that good on PS5 Pro, because overall it looks pretty realistic. The narrow streets give you a realistic sense of speed. The animations/physics look grounded.

i couldn’t get tdu2 at the time bc it was too expensive so i had gotten juiced 2 which i enjoyed very much but ive played tdusc beta & im still excited to play this & car X even tho the server issues are bad rn

Honestly can I just say I have only played one Test Drive game in my existence…. Test Drive Eve of Destruction which was of course a demolition & derby game for the Xbox and Ps2. So I don’t really know how the actual Test Drive games feel but this doesn’t look too bad. But obviously I’m trying to put the obvious mistakes aside to look even further. But I will give them time to fix the servers, and if they don’t fix them, then dead game. Because I always wanted to play an actual Test Drive game.

I swear PS5 is not even 1080p. I play on 1080p regularly, it's upscaled 720p & the reason quality mode looks bad too is it just adds some reflections/LOD. I think the resolution is stiill 720p

Why did you sayd that you don't like races, where there are restrictions for specefic car? It was on TDU and TDU.. And for me personally it's a big +, because you can try more cars, which you would maybe never drive
i think the biggest mistake was to use the kt engine instead of like Unreal Engine, i like tdu since tdu 2 i hope they get the kt engine fixed
