This game will be worth it when they add the houses, fix the steering wheel, shadows, reflections, graphics in general, I'm talking about at least 2 years
The developers had 13 years, didn't even manage to deliver a decent beta and you already know what they want to bring as an expansion? Then no servers that can handle the onslaught! Even with a 4090 the game runs terribly poorly, it's a shame to deliver something like that. In 4K you have 40fps with a 4090, which is unacceptable!
I don't understand why people complain about the graphics. Maybe it's because I played ultra settings on PC, but I didn't have issues with them. I thought the game looked good. But everything else, yes they need to fix some things.
Fixing costs money. If this doesn't sell it will be dead.

Like a dummy, I bought the Gold Edition on Steam and woke up all excited. Fired it up and NEVER got to play it due to server issues. After watching some videos, I guess I wasn't missing out on much other than the $83 I spent, so I refunded it and now I'm going to forget it exists because it's a total insult to TDU and TDU2. I had so much fun with those games back in the day.

Last time i preordered something was exactly 1 Year ago, The Crew Motorfest, i still dont regret doing it cuz i at least could play it with no problem at all, want to play a true TDU? olay TDU 1 with the platinum mod, thats what in doing

Based on what I played it has much more soul than Forza horizon 5. At least the cars are fun to drive around HK island in this one, and there is some progression. I think people are being way too harsh to the point of exaggeration. That being said it needs more work and it's definitely full of issues especially with the always online shit...

That's how it is, unless the developers have the Test Drive license, they are completely disconnected and no longer accessible! Anyone who expresses criticism will not receive a key for testing. You have ruined the once beautiful game by delivering such rubbish. Really everyone should demand their money back.

The only reason you defend the indefensible is because like many modern gamers your standards have been conditioned to rock bottom levels. Because if you were truly a fan of the TDU franchise, you would be disgusted that they've pissed on it by turning it into a live-service, with content deliberately left out to charge extra for later, barely any concept cars, and constant lies about the beta and demo not being the final edition. A game worse that its predecessor 20 years before it.
My 10 hour experience with TDU SC in PC, I just got to level 20. This is where the ranked races, Aberdeen and Grand Tourer (G) class races appear. The SLS AMG is a beauty. My current verdict is that while the Steering wheel FFB is pretty basic, what they got right is the map. It's a lot more engaging to race in Hong Kong than any open world simcades. Not only that, doing races earns you money and rep even on repeat, which means if you manage to invite a friend in to play and you'd race together, you also earn the benefits to your own account while they make progression. It's going to be a grind from this point on, but I'm happy to say it's quite a fascinating world to drive and explore, and I'll come back for more, hopefully worthy as a daily driving game.
Is this game racing only?
I remember the devs said there will be missions, but I haven't seen any videos with that...

@@lukaszpowalowski8342 Yeah. There are milestone objectives to aim for, like 250 km travelled with D class car, but yeah, it's mostly about racing and exploration. No other activity than these two.

Am i the only one who finds these races horribly unbalanced? The smallest thing can slow you down but doesnt to the AI. The AI is ridiculously fast despite my car having a better PR. Its not a skill issue either since I've never struggled like this on any other racing game. Its ridiculous

It could be worse tbh. In many ways this is better than TDU2. Physics are way better and car sounds are great. The map is way more detailed and it's just fun to cruise around because it feels more realistic. The feeling of owning a car and buying it from a dealership is still there.
However, I feel like that's it. They got the core of it, but it's littered with performance issues, graphics bugs, other bugs, servers not working, always online. And features missing like houses, clubs, whatever. I guess we have the streets and sharps thing, but not sure if I like it or not.
Anyway, because the core gameplay is so good, I have faith that they can turn this around into a great game by fixing those bugs and adding missing features. But they shouldn't be charging $50 - 100 for this unfinished game. I feel bad for the developers, I'm sure they could've nailed this if they had even just 6 months more time. But somehow Nacon had to rush it. But maybe they wanted to get it out before GTA 6. But that game will also be delayed for sure, because Rockstar won't release an unfinished game like this.

Eventually you will be blasting against other try hard players who will be having the best tools in the game and you always will be behind because you haven’t invested much time as they do.

TDU2 was an amazing game. Driving through the Oahu island. If this game was released today without nonsensical features as we get today. It could be a a very good game.

This is just heartbreaking to me.. I have TDU2 installed on my PC and it feels so natural. Dealerships, yacht houses with cars stored inside, the rain and long roads in the mountains.. Wtf actually happened? All that time, for what?

It’s so refreshing watching your videos your very knowledgeable on the subject of simm racing and all that it entails. You tell it as you see it and sadly that’s very rare amongst the majority of content providers thats out there .

even my 4090 jerked. The game feels empty on the street. For me it's another game that passes me by. I got CarX and I fell straight into NFS U1-2. The different game I'm waiting for is JDM: Japanese Drift Master

Gt7 on psvr2...i know a lot of pc vr People in the sim(cade) community even saying gt7 on psvr2...no way on pc...not a game like that ..quest 3 VS psvr2...good example is People Selling their quest 3 to get a psvr2 now it can be used on pc.
I can honestly say..gt7 on psvr2 is next level .

I told you, stay away from it because the game stinks to high heaven! People please stop pre-ordering games, do yourself a favor and only buy when there are official tests for them. I'm not buying the game anymore on principle because the developers aren't being honest with us.

I knew this game wouldn't work day 1 so I didn't buy it. I'll wait for them to fix the servers, then I'll enjoy cruising around HK island because that's what I enjoyed doing in the demo.

They ruined tdu. Theirs nothing to do but race. TDU was known for its interaction points pulling up to a clothing store, barber, their were interaction points everywhere. Pulling up to a realtor to look at houses. The casino. It was interactive. This is trash another Forza horizon or Crew
This sort of "first look" reaction, is what I've been craving. Thank you for providing this. It's sad what TDU:SC could have been, but my worries were confirmed with you posting this video. I pre-ordered BF2142 for $100 as well, and that burned me. No longer will I put money up front, for anything.

@@Kireth PS5 - so called beta more like old demo silver beta, same old build, exact same problems in the release. stayed up until 4am trying to get in and 9 hours later still cant get in? graphics, and game play seen in streams shows the dev team is lacking imo. my first impression is it looks like a buffed mobile game.

@@BullDog7 Just the fact that you pre-ordered the most expensive edition only for you not to be able to play it for literal hours is already bad enough to warrant a refund.
I mean what you have a playtime in the game of 9 hours and haven't even made your character because you can't even get in at all, that shouldn't be a thing especially since all the traffic was expected to come so to not prepare for it is just really bad.
If they can't handle high traffic on their servers they shouldn't have made an online only game.

When this game was announced and they said Kylotonn were the devs, I knew I'd be waiting for a huge price drop before buying. The physics in their first Isle Of Man game were a joke.

I think the problem is the resolution and the TAA aliasing used, not the quality of the graphics themselves. It looks 'soft'.
The sigh at 11:25 says it all! Still, looks alright to me, but that's because the last Test Drive I played was on PS1.
I hate that motion blur stuff where it looks like the car is being dragged through the map...it looks like that trippy scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

You guys remember watchdogs? Ubi shaft downgraded the graphics after the demo. When they make a game on a nasa pc and then realise that most people don't have nasa pc's to play on.

There's parts of the graphics mode where it looks super choppy and then there's spots where it performs fine. Almost like it's bad frame pacing.

That 4090 of Yours is *overkill* for any other Game I care to name! So if it is struggling to Run SC, which looks like it is from 2014 even at best, then something is *very* wrong with the Games Coding!

Any game at that price should be truly excellent. I almost always wait for a sale these days.
Those are PS4 Pro graphics at best, and for those to run at 30 fps when maxed on a PS5 means to me that they completely maxed out their old PS4 era engine for this game. Yeah, in any other genre that would've been fine if the gameplay rocks, but racing games are graphics benchmarks, always have been, so that's an era where they have to shine the most on release. A lot of other reviewers share that sentiment, even casual guys just playing the game for fun instantly realize the subpar graphics. So you are not alone in this.

I like the style of the game but on console the lighting on the car models seem a bit off..on PC it looks great though

No game on ps5 should have the option of fps lower than 60. If The graphics could be photorealistic at 40, I don’t care it’s too juddery for me. In this day and age graphics that poor in a game which had 13 years to develop is absolutely unacceptable.
It amazes me that when you brake and attempt to make a turn....the car goes straight. In what racing game has that ever been the case? That's like UFC stopping you from moving around the ring while you're blocking.

Late PS3/Early PS4 graphics on a PS5 is some achievement.

This game is honestly a lot of fun. I don’t know why people are talking about expecting so so much. This is still a smaller developer. The grind to level up rep and earn money has felt solid so far. Runs decent on performance on ps5

@@JDumbz yes. I willingly in good conscience knew that the early access (plus additional content) I paid 20$ more for was an unfinished product and that I would be experiencing the game a full week before release.
All I am seeing on PlayStation store is negative reviews saying the game is broken I do not believe UA-camrs I believe in the reviews of the game and everybody is raining at one star maybe five or six people five stars but other than that it's been one star The game is broken

Crew motorfest is a million times better than this disgrace and that is by far the worst crew out there
@@sneakworldWhat is your criteria for comparison? Because I played the demo and I had 1000 times more fun than I ever had playing the crew motor fest, mainly because the driving physics and driving around the map were much more fun.

It isn't designed by controller. It's just more realistic. It's not for Forza fans, who liked to offroad with Lamborghini at 350 km/h.

I loved the original TDU, pre-ordered the gold edition and have been so disappointed so far on PS5. Graphics are poor, handling is sluggish, server issues and had at one point, constant messages saying it failed to save. Played a couple of hours and haven't found anything good worth mentioning yet. Hopefully just day one issues but could come to regret buying this.

Next gen yeh right ! Very few game devs have the financial muscle to develop a good game for multi platform yet they build up the hype and expectations that then fails to deliver. They call that misrepresentation and legally you can get your money back with any other product. I found out some years ago that the reason that doesn't apply to console video games is because the devs promise to fix issues by way of updates that in reality can't change a poor looking game into a good one, it's just the way it has been made. This is the reason i haven't bought into next gen gaming . Overall it isn't worth the expense !
It's good to have high expectations, I suppose, but I just enjoy video games. I think it looks like a fun game. The graphics are fine.
Yeah I feel like people just want something to hate on. It's like people dont want you to succeed but almost enjoy seeing your downfall especially if they 'predicted' it (anyone could see this having a poor launch tbh). The game is full of problems sure, and it's wild they're charging full price. But to me it looks like a perfect cruising game and the demo already convinced me that, despite its issues.
I don't really understand what people expected if they looked at the beta or researched the game at all before buying, because you can see how the game looks and what features it has from those materials. I do understand that the actual trailers for the game try to create way too much hype so I'm some ways it's their own fault. Maybe they should've spent the money that they spent on marketing on the actual game.

dont feel bad for sharing your honest opinion. we see how it looks. i see it and i agree with you 100%. i would play it on tablet or phone. if they wanted it to look like & feel like NFS underground on ps2 then they nailed it but if they honestly thought this was really good for new systems, someone got fooled in their upper management. its unfortinate since a lot of people out a lot of hard work into this game.
car street x is the next level in open world racing. i cant stop watching gameplay videos of it. the graphics are legit AF & it has everything it seems so far.

I spent 120 on MS flight and spend more time updating it than actually playing it, so if you get anything out of the game your doing good

Lmao I remember launch of Flight Simulator 2020... The FS community is so patient though. People literally couldn't install the game because the installer was so bad, yet it didn't get such a bad response.
We both had the same thoughts live when viewing the graphics. Officially worthy of the "brother ughhhh" award. Such a shame almost made the impulse buy.

Car x street is way better in my opinion, and its only 15$ . this game is the modern bullcrap we all have to deal with unfinished games. i will NOT be waiting 1 year for the game to get fixed . on to the next one !

typica game launch nowdays. launch a broken game and fix it in 2 years to shutdown the servers after a year

Most console players get a login error. Myself included on xbox. I managed 30 mins of gameplay over the last 10 hours. 9.5 hours of login error screen. Insane.

Same here for series X. Spent from 9am this morning to 6pm trying to connect. Eventually got online and was really disappointed from the graphics and frame rates. I think I'm going to refund it

The pre-release version I played on PC was the worst videogame I've ever played. I was really hoping this would be the next Forza Horizon / the Crew rival that the fanboys shilled for. Also - no one except people who's livelihood is involved should be pre-ordering and supporting this awful exploitative early access practice when they don't even know if the game is finished.
edit: oooof, Mostly Negative with 504 so far . Car X Street had a bunch of weird hype too and is already mixed with over 3000 reviews
Why are people complaining about servers I was able to get on first try just fine and I didn’t get kicked at all yesterday, but I agree the graphics need major work for consoles, and the car list isn’t very good either
This game is a bucket of s**t! I got my money back from Microsoft without question, I suggest you do the same with Play Station. This sadly is the death of the Test Drive franchise.
Despite the problems with the servers, when I played, it was really fun!

gotta be honest here... from all that I could gather so far, CarX Street blows TDU out of the park, which is a real shame if you consider the former is an arcade game.
Yes, it has some issues especially with traffic AI and a certain "money imbalance", but it´s not all that bad and I really don´t mind the AI voice acting, it´s good enough. It runs on ultra on my RX 6600 @1080p, looks gorgeous too
and the map is just plain better in comparison and you can see they really put alot of effort in it. It is not pvp focused, it´s playable offline, you don´t have progress through another of these stupid season passes etc etc etc... Solar Crown, I hate to say that, is NOT "the comeback of TDU" I had wished for.
Edit: Forgot to mention full price AAA vs sub 20€ :p

Also the world just is sort of dead, made nice for screenshots but not a hint of the real life HK bustle: No pedestrians, very basic traffic, no tram/ boats/ planes moving about, they could have added alot of details.
And to me this is still no TDU game: needless futurism, no houses, no garages, cars dont get celebrated that much.
Also stuff like the cutscenes, characteres and alot more has a general sense of cheapness to it, yes AA game but little adjustments would have worked wonders.
