As a uni student I will absolutely be going for the facebook giveaway this time. I started sisters fairly recently with their old combat patrol and have had a blast with painting them so far.
Yeah, this sister's box is far from what I expected. But even if its mediocre, I ddont have an exorcist, so I might consider getting one and use seraphims as my main force instead of regular BSS. Comparing it to Spearhead is stupid. Sister jump pack models are like miles away in quality compared to the marines. Just like the exorcist compared to space marine outriders. Its very few points though, but thats expected from a sisters box, specially compared to a space marine one.
I get that you’re doing the Internet thing where you exaggerate for fun. If you need or want all these units, you save money. And if you don’t it’s not a good buy for you.
@@thefloatingcontinent9897 I personally want andd love all this units. Dont have an exorcist myself, and 10 seraphim/zephyrim. If they had swapped 5 girls for 10 regular battle sisters, or include the codex I wouldnt hesitate. Now im seriously considering it. I'll wait for the codex and see what the changes are even if Im a casual player. Thats just too many seraphims in one box. Models are gorgeous though,
Every single model in this Battleforce is extremely playable. If you want all of them, picking this up is a discount. That's really all there is to it.
I’ve kinda fell off GW for a time but have been wanting to come back into the hobby. A theoretical £192.50 even with a discount to £140 for 17 models is insane
The only reason I'm considering it is because 3 boxes of Seraphim are already on my shopping list to pad out the ones from the combat patrol and to make a 10 man unit of Zephyrim. I was already planning to spend money on exactly these units. The Exorcist I may resell.
Legitimately this is probably the worst army box ever. The fact anyone at GW thought this was acceptable as an "Army Box" shows just how out of touch they are right now.
Gw has just given up tring at this point. They know it will sell and are just pushing the line to the point it doesnt so they will then back off a tiny amount
The reason for the exorcist is because they typically have a vechile in these sets, a rhino or immolator would be useless and the castigator is selling incredibly well and this pack already has a new sculpt in the canoness
well as a sister player like with the combat patrol I'm mixed. the box isn't so bad because flying sisters are uselly used a lot since V3. the new character is OK the only thing is the exorcist (not good not bad) so for a new player ok it's not a lot of point but all sister army use to field between 10 o 15 of flying girls so he will need to buy those 3 box... So sorry but it's a good usefull box for new players... for old player on the other hand it's a lot less. Looking for point is a thing but don't forget to look at the army also...
Honestly, depending on the price of it, I might consider the box. I’ve been meaning to get my hands on the organ tank, and If the box is $220-$250 AUD, that would pay for half the box in of itself. All things considered, I was hoping that we would have more reveals then a Canoness with jump pack. Guess it’s a wait and see. Good luck to everyone in the give away!
I wouldn't get your hopes up, all the other battleforces have been over $300 for us in the land of Australia tax, that being said if you want everything in it, it would be worth getting.
The Army of Faith box isn't for people who already have an army, and it isn't for people who sort of want a couple units of whatever. It seems pretty clear it is aimed at people who want to start a Sisters army and get into tournament play. Many tournament lists have 2 units of Seraphim and 1 of Zephyrim. Many.
I think Im going to end up picking this up simply because I already have 10 mono-pose seraphim and this would give me the special weapons to round out the squads.
I think the exorcist is only in the box to increase the physical size of the box so it doesn’t look like your buying a tiny ass thing for what’s probably going to be $150 - $200 at the very best.
My first thought was why? The box is a waste of space and if they wanted to make it better, maybe 2 Rhinos to a least make it doable for a 'fast' army.
Or just 5 more Flying Girls + Celestine. That would be a good box. 20 Sera/Zeph, Jumnoness, Celestine (and 2 side-hoes) and an Exorcist. 25 models, actually buyable, and they have jump packs.
If I didn't already buy my seraphim and zepherim I would need everything and buy it. But also there's a chance that taking a lot of not battle line units will be bad.
If it was released when they did battle forces before the SC and CP, where it was sold for £50, it would be worth it. Now though, it's nowhere near worth it. Also be nice if the "Battle force" would give you something you could play a game with
It's the standard Seraphim kit that's been around for a while. The fancier ones are the Zephyrim that build out of the same kit. If you're thinking back to the CP box, that only had the parts for mono-pose Seraphim.
I'll probably be getting this box set, but only because it happens to have the exact units I want. Feel bad for anyone who already has enough of any of these units
I hate to say it but this is perfect for me, the exorcist is peak sisters of battle for me and the zepehrem are another unit I love but havent picked up, should bring me up perfectly to 2000 pts. I think the real problems are not with the battle force, but with the horde nature of 10th. sisters should be elite but gw is too afraid to make strong rules so instead just give cheap points which doesn't mesh with the cost of newer kits. With Genestealer cults there is only so much you can do, they are supposed to be a horde, but sisters should be almost comparable to space marines.
If I can find it from a discount retailer I might get this. I want the canoness, I wanted at least 1 more box of flyers, and I wanted the tank as is. But if I can't get it from a discount retailer I'm passing
Wow, uh...positive I guess is if I get this I won't ever need to buy any more seraphim/zephyrim kits since I have 2 seraphim from the CP and a box of zeph already. That's it, that's all I can think of. Oh and the canoness looks like she's falling off her tactical rock.
People gave me flak for saying this, but I stand by it: This box should have had Celestine in it."GW doesn't put named characters in boxes!" "It devalues buying multiples!" "What if I alreafy have Celestine?!" 1) That's bullshit, GW has put big named characters in plenty of boxes in the past 2) even without Celestine in ther, you were *never* buying multiples of this box. The new jump pack sisters rule could be the most insane rule ever, you are never maxing out on both Seraphim and Zephyrim. 3) If you already have Celestine, you probably already also own a few kits of Seraphim, in which case it'd be cheaper to just buy the 1-2 extra Seraphim kits you might need as opposed to this. So I'm sorry all three sisters players who are deep enough in to own Celestine but no jump pack units to go with her, adding her is a straight upgrade for everyone else who would actually buy this box.
I would pay more for a Combat Patrol that made sense and would actually let me play Combat Patrol as it was advertised and allow me to properly learn how to play.
Wait, is it not just generally accepted that the Exorcist is the coolest Sisters model? A pipe organ that shoots missiles out of its pipes is hilariously awesome! I love that thing!
The only way this makes sense is at a £120/£125 price point. There has been some variation in recent battleforce pricing but at £130 it's just straight up worse % value than comparable very recent releases (Orks, Custodes etc) and £140 would be a joke. The fact that the exclusive model has not been particularly well received just makes it even worse.
I know sisters are low points and never going to see a 1k points+ battleforce, especially when they added the highest pointed unit in the army an Exorcist at 180pts, but this feels like a combat patrol at Battleforce prices. I would even go as far as saying that there are combat patrols that would actual beat this in a straight fight. I would be interested to see how others would of built this box given that you have to include the new model and a unit they can go with without repeating any recent sister box sets and not going over the 20-40% discount that these boxes sometimes come with.
Unless the Army of Faith detachment is incredible this doesn't feel good at all. The Exorcist feels weird unless it also benefits directly from that detachment. The thing is with Exorcists is that they are the sort of thing that you either take zero or at least 2, if not, 3. The exorcist missile launchers are quite powerful but with variable numbers of attacks between 3 and 8 without blast you need several of them to ensure consistent performance. If you're going to field these things then it is because you are making them a core part of your strategy (obliterate entire squads per turn from long range and out of sight). So why is it included with a jump army?
It sure is boring but I guess it’s all up to how many flying infantry you need. I honestly don’t know how much is to much. On Amazon it’s $229 usd to buy an exorcist and three seph/zeph boxes. The captain with jump pack is $34 usd on Amazon so maybe $263 for this whole set? So that’s a 16.5% discount. I mean saving any money is good, but you have to want everything here, which like I said at the start…. maybe you do if jump pack sisters are op? Just not sure if they are
It would cost 1000$ to make an 2000 army with this boxset. High end 3D printers are cheaper. GW needs to consider the value proposition they are providing us before they are no longer a company. Record profits can become bankruptcy overnight. People are willing to pay the exorbitant prices today but tomorrow is almost here.
So a few points here: Pounds-per-point is a bit of an odd metric, given that if the points for a model go up it's then immediately considered less good. The Ork battleforce caught a lot of flak for having a Stompa in it, despite the Stompa being a high-point model, because the Stompa is considered overcosted. If the jump Sisters are considered to be an 'overpriced' model due to their low points cost, surely them being in a discount box is a good thing? A lot of tournament lists do run them. Secondly, assuming we do apply that metric, what other models could've been in the box? Seraphim at 140 points for 10 are one of the most expensive Sisters squads in points, only Arco-flagellants and Paragons cost more. So yes, this set could've been Paragons at a discount, but that's about it since the Arcos are already in another set. Third, there's nothing much wrong with the composition of this box. If you want the Jump Canoness, you want a jump unit to put her in, and you probably want 10 of them. The exorcist compliments an army that can get anywhere on the board quickly by being able to shoot almost anywhere on the board, and in its current rules it has an aura LD buff, which whilst not tremendously exciting does fit the theme of the Army of Faith. (Here again we get the irony that most Sisters players would like to see it go down in points, which would make it, by the pounds-to-points metric, 'worse'.) Overall, if this box doesn't have what you need, don't buy it, assuming you even could find it anyway. But between this set and the combat patrol you can get almost all the core elements of one of the most expensive 40k factions to collect at a discount, which has to be a good thing for new players.
I think the problem with boxes like this, is no one in the hobby thinks 5 jump infantry for $60 is an acceptable price, so even at a 20% discount it's a hard pass for most. Basic infantry should be $50 for 10, specialist inftantry types being $10 more, adding a fancy backpack doesn't double the value to a customer.
@@malcolmcurrie7542 All I can say to that is that people have been telling me that miniatures were overpriced since I was in high school in the late eighties. '40k is expensive' is hardly new information. I'd love GW to course-correct to make everything cheaper, and maybe competition from 3D printing will eventually force that to happen.
Counterpoint, the old Combat Patrol box had all the core elements of the army. It brought more content than the new battleforce and still at a better much price.
@@Dtv8564 You're right but there is a big caveat on the old combat patrol. It was just the sisters range update launch box in a combat patrol so everything was monopose and in weird unit sizes, which imo devalued the kits in it pretty heavily.
@@Dtv8564 The problem with that box though, as I've said before, is that both the Repentia and the Arcos came in those weird little units. Three Arcos are practically worthless and there's no way to make them up to ten, and the five-strong Repentia unit has the Mistress and four Repentia so you can't scale that up either. I hope GW don't invalidate it completely by changing the minimum squad sizes, but if they do it retroactively gets even worse.
In general i like the units and i can se myself get this twice. But the problem is that the points are wayyyyy to low, 500 is imo the minimum standard for combat patrols and BF boxes should actually more than that (maybe 700-800ish but depends on the faction).
My tinfoil hat theory is that the exorcist is in the box purely to jack up the price. They should have put Saint Celestine in instead and the box would have been a lot better.
I was SO excited to see this battleforce since I just got into Sisters this year and this box is one crazy disappointment. I could use it, sure, especially since the seraphim in the old combat patrol are monopose and this would let me pretty much max out the entire jump pack wing of the army in a single buy but I just have to ask.... why? Even just a random squad of basic sisters would make this so much more valuable for someone just getting into the army. At least give me an immolator or something. :( At least the jump canoness looks really cool with the eviserator. That would be fun to build and paint, I suppose.
Both the battleforce and the combat patrol seem so weirdly lopsided. Like you either pick the infantry box or the flier box. At least give the battleforce box Celestine if you're gonna put that many fliers in it, right?
GW's character mini pricing are why I am vvery glad I have an extensive bitzbox and decent kitbashing skills. And this box is... it's there? Not good, not terrible, but just sort of... there.
I think the best part is that this box wont sell out as fast as the others. The contents, point efficiency, chosen units and chosen price is absolute garbage. We know that this is a buffed detachment in hope that this sells - balanced by the marketing department.
So, this is purely me whining, but I feel it is a bit of a letdown simply that the Jump Canoness doesn't have the option for swapping to an inferno pistol. It's a classic Canoness sidearm, and here with the great mobility to plop it down where you might need it, but no. Oh well. Aside from that, still an odd box, with the jump packs and a tank. Not sure how well it will do, but at least the Sisters are good models.
They didn't say that there weren't any other ranged options did they? I thought they just talked about the melee options. That would be pretty crap if you can only take the hand flamer.
I feel that if someone owns even a single squad of Seraphim/Zephyrim, this Batleforce will be a no But if you don't and you really, really want to.... Then it's a weak maybe
I only have the 5 seraphim from the combat patrol, so am kind of interested in the box, buuuuut I already own an exorcist and I can't really imagine wanting 2 exorcists any time soon. The kicker is really just how &*($ expensive the seraphim/zephyrim box is

@@chrismessy1002 yeah i mean, good value for sisters especially if exactly what ur looking for is in the box, it's just insane that good value for sisters is 1.9 ppd. trying to get into sisters myself and it's just not something i can get over
Maybe Bizarro World. Bizarro!
Gw plastic is never worth it.
Unless you get a 50% discount and split that by 3
It's worth it for people who need15 angels and an exorcist since it is technically a discount. But if you don't need exactly that then it's garbage.
It's incredibly incredibly niche and holds no value for people trying to get into sisters, only for people with an existing collection with a very specific hole in it.
at first when i saw the box i thought it was a joke or at least part of the box, it just looks incomplete
From how much hobbying you'll get out of it, its a great deal.
Because it takes about ten years to paint an exorcist.
When I first saw the picture, I thought it was a teaser and half the models had been Photoshopped out or something.
Can’t wait to see this one sitting on my LGS’ shelf a few years from now
As a uni student I will absolutely be going for the facebook giveaway this time.
I started sisters fairly recently with their old combat patrol and have had a blast with painting them so far.
Army of faith box: can I borrow your homework?
SM spearhead Christmas box: sure! Just change it a bit so they don’t notice.
I want the canonesd but seeing her loadouts and all my extra bits, I want just going to buy a sep/zep box and build out my own.
Don't tell anyone but there was a canoness, seraphim, and repentia all in the last combat patrol, I'm sure you could bash one out.
I hear people compare it to the Space Marines Spearhead box, which only had a tiny discount (retail
The only thing I will say is people do like the Exorcist unlike the ATV or Outriders lol, spot on though.
@@Goober2289 Oh I agree, for sure the Exorcist is a better Sister's inclusion than the ATV and Outriders are as Space Marines inclusions :D
I have 2 Atvs... they remind me of Halo Warthogs.... I'll probably never play them in my Dark Angels, but I love how they look.
NO WAY on any planet is this battleforce box considered good.
Models are gorgeous though,
I have 5 sepherim depending on the price its worth for me 😅💚
I'll just repeat my friend (a SoB player)'s words:
"This pack is just bullshxt, what should I do with these 301 chainsword ?! NOTHING🙄"
Every single model in this Battleforce is extremely playable. If you want all of them, picking this up is a discount. That's really all there is to it.
There are great models for the sisters vehicles so just print them. The jump packs as well. Costs a third of a resin bottle for this battleforce.
I’ve kinda fell off GW for a time but have been wanting to come back into the hobby. A theoretical £192.50 even with a discount to £140 for 17 models is insane
Welcome to the Sisters of Battle. 2nd most expensive army in the whole hobby.
I would actually love this set. It would fit perfectly with my current collection, but I don't have the money at this time.
As a new SoB player I would totally get this box. This plus the new Combat Patrol looks like a good start.
I really enjoy Warhammer. Games Workshop is doing everything in their power to prevent that, but I really do anyway.
@@Goober2289 true. But I tend to get mine from Gap Games, who have a discount on Warhammer stuff. So, we’ll see.
Yall remember the black templars army release box? Pepperidge farms remembers.
Many.
You're probably of cheaper with a full fancy resin army by now. Lots of beautiful sculpts out there.
I really want to see how long they last,
If it was released when they did battle forces before the SC and CP, where it was sold for £50, it would be worth it. Now though, it's nowhere near worth it. Also be nice if the "Battle force" would give you something you could play a game with
Is this new sculpts for the seraphim as well? Or have these been around for a while?
People gave me flak for saying this, but I stand by it: This box should have had Celestine in it."GW doesn't put named characters in boxes!" "It devalues buying multiples!" "What if I alreafy have Celestine?!"
1) That's bullshit, GW has put big named characters in plenty of boxes in the past
2) even without Celestine in ther, you were *never* buying multiples of this box.
Might as well have a layin on release day and save your money for the Seraphim/Zeraphim sprues that are about to flood ebay from the scalers.
Sisters is my next project, and i plan a jump-heavy collection.
I rate this as: "hahahahanope"
I would pay more for a Combat Patrol that made sense and would actually let me play Combat Patrol as it was advertised and allow me to properly learn how to play.
And the price will increase by 4% too 😢
Wait, is it not just generally accepted that the Exorcist is the coolest Sisters model? A pipe organ that shoots missiles out of its pipes is hilariously awesome! I love that thing!
The only way this makes sense is at a £120/£125 price point. There has been some variation in recent battleforce pricing but at £130 it's just straight up worse % value than comparable very recent releases (Orks, Custodes etc) and £140 would be a joke. The fact that the exclusive model has not been particularly well received just makes it even worse.
I see we have reached the “battleforces are just the size of last years combat patrols” stage of shrinkflation.
$90 dam, i remember when the exorcist was $65 back in 2009. Rhinos were like $50-55
I know sisters are low points and never going to see a 1k points+ battleforce, especially when they added the highest pointed unit in the army an Exorcist at 180pts, but this feels like a combat patrol at Battleforce prices.
The true art of Warhammer is GW dealing with the enormous "white space" in model pictures as they reduce how many you get for higher costs lol
As a main sisters player im just going to sell the exorcist since I dont need 2
(Here again we get the irony that most Sisters players would like to see it go down in points, which would make it, by the pounds-to-points metric, 'worse'.)
Overall, if this box doesn't have what you need, don't buy it, assuming you even could find it anyway.
If GW sets this box at 150€ max, then it could be worth it, otherwise, no, and this is just money-wise and not point-wise.
Wait, auras are coming back?
I was SO excited to see this battleforce since I just got into Sisters this year and this box is one crazy disappointment. I could use it, sure, especially since the seraphim in the old combat patrol are monopose and this would let me pretty much max out the entire jump pack wing of the army in a single buy but I just have to ask.... why? Even just a random squad of basic sisters would make this so much more valuable for someone just getting into the army. At least give me an immolator or something. :(
At least the jump canoness looks really cool with the eviserator.
And this box is... it's there? Not good, not terrible, but just sort of... there.
There is only one direction GW pricing goes in, and it ain't down.
Im sure they would have gone bankrupt if they included a squad of Noviates or Initates or whatever their not-scouts are called.
Only Jump units is a very specific box, so if you have interest in them, yes, but otherwise a clearly, nope!
I think the best part is that this box wont sell out as fast as the others. The contents, point efficiency, chosen units and chosen price is absolute garbage.
We know that this is a buffed detachment in hope that this sells - balanced by the marketing department.
I don't get why they made the new character's face look like Matt Smith from Doctor Who.
Seems like the Sales team dictated what was in this box based on GW inventory.
Expensive yeah but as a sisters collector, may get this.
435 points in a BATTLEFORCE box???
Thats a f-ing combat patrol
Wow
It doesn't look like a fun box. If it is the same price as the chaos set it is def not worth it.
Not sure what's worse, the points total in the box or the potential price 😂
I feel that if someone owns even a single squad of Seraphim/Zephyrim, this Batleforce will be a no
But if you don't and you really, really want to.... Then it's a weak maybe
There's a theoretical line with GW's pricing scheme and I think we've found it. This box is hubris and disrespect writ large.
I only have the 5 seraphim from the combat patrol, so am kind of interested in the box, buuuuut I already own an exorcist and I can't really imagine wanting 2 exorcists any time soon. The kicker is really just how &*($ expensive the seraphim/zephyrim box is
I love the Sisters of Battle. I don't love this. However, I do appreciate GW's early April Fools joke.
So bad space wolves combat patrol has finally been dethroned as the worst one.
It's great for half of a battleforce box
Honestly, unless you're Really all-in for a Jump Pack based Sisters army, you're better off just 3rd partying the Exorcist.
Not a good deal at all.
