Felix and Agostin married into the family. They have no powers. But they are a perfect match for their spouses. Agostin is well meaning, full of love, but clumsy and needs Julieta's healing. Felix is totally chill, which complements Pepa's anxiety. He's always trying to get Pepa to loosen up.
Pepa and Felix are my favorite Disney couple now lmao! Their chemistry on screen and their voices alone, I LOVE them.
Great observation, Felix it’s got the moves
Agustín is my favorite, he's so charming
well said!
Honestly, as someone with severe anxiety Felix and Pepa are relationship goals
I didn't expect a Disney movie to ever address generational tramua, but this movie went beyond my expectations.
Also they did Bruno dirty for so long 😫
The trauma knocked me in the back of my head lol. Facts! I need reparations for Bruno!!
I’d do Bruno. 🤷🏻♀️
10 years with the rat 🐀
@@sonyapanda Dude same
And not just that, but like the younger generation being able to “talk back” (for lack of a better word) about it and it’s not that she was being disrespectful, she was saying the things that abuela found hard to hear but those are the conversations that HAVE to happen to be able to address the problem and move forward.
The thing with the picture bit, for me, is that she didn't even try to get into the picture. It wasn't like they told her she wasn't allowed. Abuela said "everyone gather round!" And Mirabel didn't move. That said... how badly must she have internalized all of this to assume she's not invited into the family picture?
Wow I never that about that...
Not to mention nobody realized she wasnt there
It's like that feeling that when you're in a group chat with people you're friends with (but not SUPER close), then they start making plans about hanging out together in that group chat, but no one follows up on you or specifically asked if you're available that day, so you just assume that you're not invited at all. I mean, it's just all in your head, but you can't help but assume that way.
Exactly, I think a lot of people miss that. Especially because the non-powered husbands were included so it clearly wasn't a powered-Madrigals-only picture. But it shows a very important truth that people who feel disconnected from their family can start to act in-line with that disconnection because they've internalized it.
I've been in that situation, where I didn't attempt to join an open invitation for a picture because I didn't believe I was included. It takes a lot of work to figure out what caused that feeling of separation and healing it.
I love that the movie unapologetically just throws in Spanish like "don't know it? Use context or look it up. You got the internet." It gives me LIFE!
Wish they did that more often. Kids don't always need their hands held, let alone adults. Trust your audience to pick up on clues and to look it up if they want to know more!!
As Colombians we are a mix between indigenous, black and Spanish. So as in the movie you can find fair skin, black and mix race.
and sum are lil bit asian too
I like that. I'm born in Madagascar but I grew up in France and I heard there's a lot of mix race over here
Yes! I love this movie and showing Colombian culture! Filipinos are also a mix - indigenous from African groups, Spanish and Malay (Asian). I related to this movie more than Raya
Pro tip; if your sibling comes in crying, mentions you, and runs off crying *louder* you will look guilty no matter what you say
Love how Luisa has a mental breakdown and sings about being so stressed that she is close to breaking as a person and ppl are just like: 💃🕺
I just noticed this. When the flowers appear on Isabella's head, Abula picks off the one daisy on her hair, so that they are all pink and pretty
Abuela knew what she was doing!
Such a good detail!
Or the white means pure and a virgin
And you know the rest

@@chickennuggetz5632 nO, like is what japser sorrows comment canon?
Its a good “theory” and is verry likely possible
But it could be false, and maybe on a slime chance its my “theory” i like the other theory better but this is justa suggestion
“Isabella is...sapphic.” YES THAT’S WHAT IVE BEEN SAYINGGGGG
But yeah one of my favorite parts of this movie is the REPRESENTATION!!! All those lovely skin tones and hair textures and body types!!! Colombia is such a diverse place, and they really did their homework!!
#FreeBruno2022 #hedeservedbetter
yes queen, high femme sapphic isabella is facts
@@nathalietheestallion312 it'd be so cool if they created a female character to be her "friend" (as the straights say) so we could write fanfics, this can be cannon if they do an encanto 2 tho
I love the diversity of the characters from their skin tone to their hair.
SAME! It was so refreshing
Tal vez porque hay diversidad entre los latinos
That’s how our families looks in the major part of Latin Americans countries. No everyone looks like Mexicans. Just travel to Dominican Republic and you’ll see a lot of black people, for example.
Afro Latinos are all over Latin America the majority of slaves during the transatlantic slave trade went to south central America and the Caribbean only a small percentage went to the United States of America black Latinos we out hea lmao we don't just don't have that much representation in media but that's changing little by little and I love to see it
I love that the house still tries to protect them from its own crumbling foundation.
The most popular fan theory is that Mirabel's "gift" is that she's the next Keeper of the Candle. That's why she didn't get a door. Someday, when Abuela passes away, MIrabel's image will likely replace Alma's on the door.
Like Abuela Alma, Mirabel is the anchor, the lynch-pin, that holds the house and the family and the magic together. She has no magical ability other than just simply being there and being a guiding light for everyone.
Which, I think, is beautiful. ^_^
She's already got her image on the front door. And that doorknob is the new candle.
Oh, I took it as her door “dissolving” into the house instead of just the door disappearing but yeah I totally agree with this theory
I loved how many skin tones they had it really showed how many tones a culture can have and she doesn’t technically have powers she’s like her grandmother she would be next in line to take care of the family and the house and when Antonio said “I need you” one the cutest thing ever but yes at a certain age you get your door
you happen to pop up on my recommendation. But the first 10 seconds had me weak with the Chris brown clip 😂
So you won me over! I’m watching now!
NOT BILLYBINGES IM SCREAMINGGGGG PLEASE IM OBSESSED WITH YOUR REACTIONS 😂😩
Oh shit hi Billy 😂 I started looking up other people's reactions to this movie after I watch yours and Nickflix's. She won me over too ♥
omg hi Billy!
Not Mr William Binges!
LOL Billy binges has entered the chat I am officially watching your reactions and subscribing to your channel girl keep it up yes!!!! 💕💕💕
I am happy that Disney did their research well into Colombian culture.
I can't tell you the amount of times people have been thrown off by how diverse we are cultural and racially; like black latino is still a concept I have to explain to people because of how use I am to my heritage having black people while others don't seem to grasp the concept lol.
It cool to also see someone with the same sentiment.
My Father is from Venezuela and my mother is from Mexico. And although I turned out light skinned, to the point where other people believe I'm American (even by other Latinos), my family covers all spectrums of the rainbow. From gingers to afro and everything in-between, it's just normal for me to see.
If only people in the U.S could see it the same way as Latinos, but I know it's a culture shift that would have to happen.
Same in Mexico. There are Afro-Mexicans who a lot of people have no idea about, mostly they think all Mexicans are mestizo or native... it's like people think slaves weren't taken to Mexico or other Latin countries. I even had someone who didn't know there were white Mexicans. I'm a white Mexican. Mind you, I'm also part Polish, but that's the point, people mix and people immigrate and we end up with all kinds of people in our countries, I mean I have Mexican cousins with a Japanese grandparent.
@badussy's middle-aged meatflaps True, however for clarity sake, I'm white. Although lots of places in Latin America and Spain as a whole does alo have white people.
What I'm trying to say is, I look, sound, act white. And due to my line of work, I speak Spanish like 80% of the time, however when someone new walks into my office, and they only speak Spanish, they look for one of our other workers that "look" like they speak Spanish. And when they have no choice and try to speak to me in broken English, I respond to them in Spanish, which I sometime see a confused/relieved face.
You get your gift when you're five years old. Complete with a new room just for you! Mirabel is 15, and has spent her entire life in a nursery meant for kids under 5.
At least since she was the youngest born until Antonio, she had her own room until she was like 9-10
@@4ElementGirl Right around the time of puberty, she had a baby cousin in the room.
the fact that Surface Pressure actually is on top 100 billboard charts makes this better.
that’s what I call manifestation ✨😂
It's a fantastic song so that much sense
At best Bruno is 5'10, but because his family told all these scary stories about him, Camilo created this super scary image of him in his mind growing up
FYI…”We don’t talk about Bruno” is currently number 4 in the charts 😁👌🏻
HAHA as it should!!
@@jaymeetsworld1 Damn STRAIGHT 👍🏻😁
Behind Surface Pressure, I'm betting.
@@brandiarmstrong2902 Well actually, surface pressure is number 4 and Bruno is number 1 😁
Took me till this reaction video to realize that Bruno's voice actor also voiced Sid from Ice Age 😂 you can really hear it towards the end, when he comes out ready to throw hands with Abuela 😂
You’re so right!!! 😂😂
You talk about hair texture, they actually did a huge reasearch with afrocolombian community to make sure they representation was as accurate as possible.
I love that!!! They need to do that in a lot more films
the way surface pressure by luisa is actually charting in bb100 rn lmaooo
we love to see luisa on top lol
arepas are a typical food from Colombia and Venezuela, it's made from corn flour and can be filled with anything not only cheese, also eggs, bacon and meat
"miracles out of tragedy? Things minorities know too well" whew chile preachhhh
could’ve shouted in that moment 😂
everyone singing mad sh*t abt bruno:
bruno in the walls vibing with them: *7 foot frame, rats along his back-*
I love the different shades of skin. It makes me think of my family. It’s so funny to see what kind of mixes appear in one family.
Yess!!! The skin tones, the hair, addressing generational issues, the representation 🥺 stunning And all to amazing music!!
HAVE YOU SEEN THE LITTLE BOY ON INSTAGRAM THAT WAS WATCHING AND THOUGHT ANTONIO WAS HIM?!!??!!??!!?!? OMG I can't even... He was SO HAPPY 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
YESSSSSS IT WAS THE CUTEST THING EVER
I just realized that The first time we see Bruno some lightning comes from behind to make The classic horror movie-thing and I asked to myself "So is there Thunder inside The house?" well DUH tía Pepa was storming due to what just happened in The proposal and we actually see her a few moments later
The thing I loved, which I saw another reviewer say, is that it was awesome to see disney show the diversity of skin tones through a family. Especially with the triplets, Julietta, Pepa, and Bruno. That they share the same blood, but all of them are their own people, with varying hair types and skin tones.
yesss exactly this!
Still can't believe they made an animated film based in 🇨🇴! That's wild to me.
I must say starting from the scene where Mirabel found Bruno to Mirabel and Isabela fighting and getting together was my favorite, its absolutely hilarious and I keep watching it over and over again, your reaction was so funny aswell XD Happy 2022 everyone!
Mirabel, Isabela*
@@m1sh474 Oh ok! Thanks for the correction
You and I are on the same wavelength about Isabela being sapphic and I need Disney to make a animated series like they did with Tangled so they can introduce a girl for me to ship Isabela with.
I also love the representations in this movie and love how Disney didn't just toss in a couple dark skinned characters but actually did proper lineage. Felix (who is Afro-Latino) has Camilo, Antonio, and Dolores who each have different shades of skin tones, along with their hair textures and hair colors being different.
This made me laugh so many times I seriously had to go into my room cause my family was giving me weird looks. Your so naturally funny and definitely earned a sub from me(and anyone else i can get to watch this and your other videos).
#FreeBruno #HeDeservesBetter
omg a series would work so well with this movie since they do have so many characters!!! And thank you so much 🥺
From your coment I'm assuming your a cassunzel shipper
I thought this same thing from the moment I first saw the movie! ^_^ Also, I'm just damn curious what everyone else's rooms look like, lol.
I’m Colombian, and your reaction to the film’s music really made me happy. You’re great btw!
They confirmed that Mirabel was given a separate, new, miracle. Thus Mirabel’s gift was always to subconsciously influence the gifts of those around her (This can be seen by the difference between Antonio’s door and everyone before him, etc)
I like that you call the house haunted because there's a theory that the magic is actually Abuelo's spirit. 😊
Surface Pressure *is* in fact on the billboard hot 100 list, along with We Don't Talk About Bruno.
I'm obsessed with Delores. She's so pretty and has perfect features, she looks like a porcelain doll! Low key jealous!
We must give a great recognition to Disney for this film ... it is incredible to see different emotions and the research work on Colombia to reflect its diversity was incredible ...
"The miracle has an expiration date?" im DOOOOOOONE 💀💀💀
You clocked Isabela's possibly (LISTEN, we are hoping, we are wishing, we are praying in the queer Encanto fandom, too) being gay, which means I could not hit the Subscribe button fast enough! Thank you! Just manifesting for Isabela to get a girlfriend in the already well manifested Disney+ Encanto series now.
Hahaha she was on my radar immediately 😂thank you so much!!!
“isabella is…sapphic”
i literally thought the same thing lol i said i don’t know what this whole “man” thing is about because she obviously doesn’t like them
LITERALLY.
mirabel’s magic was fr the house like how connected she was??? insane
Great video! You’re so damn entertaining 🤣
I'd like to share a little thought about my favourite character, maybe someone can relate!
Camilo (the shapeshifter) happens to be my favourite character. I mean, it's too bad we don't get to see a whole lot about him during the film, so I guess my brain filled some gaps without me even noticing, but I saw so many parts of me in him, in a way I absolutely didn't expect.
He's the family goofball, always cracking jokes and not taking anything too seriously to keep the mood light, but when it comes to his family he's absolutely invested. For example [SPOILERS AHEAD], when the family members all lose their powers, the first thing you can hear Camilo say is something along the lines of "I lost my power! But what about Antonio? What's he gonna do?" so his thoughts immediately went to his little brother. I also happen to have a little one (my niece) who I would do anything for, and our age gap is not too different from Antonio and Camilo's, so that's kinda neat.
But my absolute favourite scene is the one where he tries to calm down his mom (even calling her "mami", which is such a mama's boy thing to do): without getting in too much detail, growing up I had to deal with a lot of mood swings from my mom caused by a medical condition of hers, and I even got scared of her sometimes, but then I was always to help, calming her down and consoling her. In a way, I guess Pepa reminds me of my own mom as well: it really did feel like a thunderstorm in the house when she was angry or sad
I mean, Camilo may sadly be the least explored of the characters (I think even little Antonio gets more screentime), but I really did resonate with him.
Apologies for my essay, I'm on a bit of an Encanto overdose at the moment as you probably have noticed lol
Thank you so much ❤️ Camilo was HILARIOUS.. I wish I could have kept more of my reaction to him in :/ I loved how you could def tell he was a middle child 😂 I loooooove that you could find so much of yourself in this film! This is why representation is so important!
@@jaymeetsworld1 Oh, absolutely! That's one of the best aspects of this movie for sure: everyone can find someone they can relate to! And I can only imagine how impactful it could be for children to see someone just like them in a Disney Movie
If they ever make a live productiom show (not the live action movies, the Broadway stuff, like they did with Lion King or something), they NEED to give Camilo and the other cousins more screen time and a song of their own.
Antonio really is the cutest bean 🥺❤️
Plz you're so effortlessly and naturally funny 😭🤣
Great video, I'm subscribing for sure! 👍🏽
(Also same brain, Isabella is for sure ✨sapphic✨ you should see the Punk!Isabella concept art from the artbook, which I hope they use for a potential sequel series. 😩🙏🏽)
thank you! thank you! ahhh let me go look this up now lol
Funny ya say that. “Surface Pressure” is at the number 52 slot on the top 100 rn lol
Lol as it should!!!!
This movie was too dang cute 🥺🥺 one step closer to a fully AA Disney movie 🙏🏾🙏🏾
19:18 obviously lol I mean she just sang the biggest coming out song I've heard since This Is Me 🤣
im so glad you brought up the diversity of skin tones!! it was beautiful and so so important
"isabela's......sapphic" SKDHFJDKF MY EXACT THOUGHTS I LOVE YOU
Girl this movie magic. We all know Abuela ain't apologizing lol.
😂😂😂😂
I really enjoyed it. Mirabel reminds of Rapunzel she is so her. Also I am very similar to her. The songs the story. The animation whole house the details. Bruno is so hilarious. I even cried at the end when her and her grandma were hugging ansd this scene at the lake with them
My Ex's family was this movie exactly, and they were Italian. Moved to canada dead broke, grandpa became a brick layer and crippled himself getting his family through college, and now all the second gen makes 6 figures and the kids are in college/beginning of career years, so they be feeling the surface pressure. On a bright note, one of them broke up with their fiancee in a similar manner, there was no cousin to catch him though 🤣
I also really loved the skin tone they got it all, light skin, tan, brown, dark skin. I'm a mix between tan and brown-ish and I love them for that.
They also had a well rounded spectrum of hair types which is neat cause hair is pretty difficult to animate in general so it is nice to see it be so diverse in this film, a lot of love went in
"Isabella is... sapphic"
Holy shit you're right, and I love it!
"isabela's...." (prophecy hands) "sapphic" me too girl
This movie literally had me crying from the beginning till the end, but the songs slap so I was bopping in tears plus it’s just so pretty to look at too
Especially Surface Pressure, like that slaps but it also made me cryyyyy
surface pressure had no business being that good!!!!
Surface pressure is my favorite song of the movie 😁
for sure mine too!
Not you checking out abuelo 🤣 subscribed!
lol listen... but thank you!!!
Okay can I just point out that during Dolores part in “We don’t talk about Bruno” BRUNO IS IN THE BACKGROUND ON THE BALCONY!!!
He's just vibing at the "Do you understand?" part and its so funny! (Actually its Hernando hahaha)
no one seems to point out he was walking on the first floor too right behind Dolores and Mirabel
Encanto was a beautiful film, best animated film of 2021 I think
"NONE FOR GRETCHEN WEINERS!" 💀💀🤣🤣 i am truly a ho for a good mean girls reference😁
This is my first time seeing your content and you are by far one of the funniest creators I’ve seen in a long time, love your content!
This comment was the greatest thing to wake up to! Thanks so much ❤️
The whole point of the movie is you don't need powers to have worth, it would have been super disappointing if they gave Mirabel powers at any point during the movie. The prevailing theory is she's the next in line to inherit the Encanto after Abuela. I think that's the most likely thing too. If that's true I guess she does get magic in a way.
I've been watching this movie over and over trying to get the message I'm worth something as I am, regardless of my contributions to society or lack thereof into my brain. One day it might happen. :P
I’ve been binge watching your channel all day and I love every reaction!! you’re literally so cool and friendly to watch ❤️
also YES Isabella is definitely sapphic!!!
ahhhh thank you so much!!! i’m so glad you enjoy them 💕
first off HOW are you this pretty!! second the "isabella is........ ....... .... sapphic" comment was iconic. great watch
Honestly, I get abuela. I feel like this movie is misunderstood because abuela isn't even that much of a drastic interpretation of older generations today. They all mean well and held themselves to certain standards and pressures. However, they're stuck in the mind set of "I suffered and it was normal. So you should suffer too to grow" instead of "I suffered so you don't have to". I feel like the movie is trying to bring us together. Not every relationship can be saved but Abuela means well and has gone through a lot. She's just forgotten who the real gift is and why they ran in the first place. I had a conversation with one of my friends about this. He's African American and he said to him it feels like his grandparents fought for him to have a CHANCE at a good life but their definition of a good life is subjective and they use guilt tactics without really meaning to. So there's a lot of pressure to respect and live up to the people who suffered before him. Everyone expecting him to really be SOMETHING due to struggles his family has gone through. He feels he doesn't get the advantage to just BE. Which is the basics of what was fought for. The ability to have a CHANCE.
As a Hispanic, and these aren't in competition to each other they're just 2 pov's, our older generations had to sacrifice and leave a lot behind for us. Some families had to start from nothing and that sacrifice is a constant reminder to the older generations. They want us to stay true to our roots but they also expect us to really make use of those sacrifices. However they don't realize they're making us fight against THOSE demons, THEIR demons, instead of really letting us live and fight the battles WE'RE facing TODAY. Then our parents have been conditioned to just take it and survive it. Meanwhile we are not them either. We're the new generation and we want to actually LIVE. While the newest generation is demanding it.
I’m so obsessed with your reactions ! Ure hilarious and comforting 😭
this made me so happy 🥺

Ok.....this maybe just me, BUT, Encanto was one of, if not, the first movies to wish we saw more houses of a different culture in the USA (and I don't mean like China town and that stuff, I mean to see an actual Casita like house somewhere in the USA) plus, even though it has little to no sturdy walls and BARILY any electricity, it would be so much more money saved, PLUS with a bit of solar power, you have a house with a mortgage of at least 5,000$ for two bedrooms 1 bath.....now that is something I'd like to see in the us for a change. Am I wrong? Am I the only one who wants this?
"Isabella is... sapphic"... same thought. Same thought.
The color in her hair.. the rainbows… It all makes sense
There's a 2D animated movie called Klaus. It's kind d if christmassy, but it is also just AMAZING. I feel like everyone should watch it, so I will recommend it here, even if it might not be quite the right season for it ;)
