Ouch but enjoy lol just remember all moza stuff isn't on this level. The r16 has way better force feedback then there r5 and other models. Just saying. The speed of said ffb aka slew rate. Everything is just better on the r16 then any other base they make. I also wish that 99% of there build isn't plastic. Like make it 70% alu and 30% plastic like fanatec does. Like dang. Like fanatecs new dd+ is 10kg! Its a monster the heating and the motor weighs so much yet it's not big. It's quality af this time.
The torque talk was the best part of the review. Ive been looking at moving on from a g923 and trying to figure out how many nm to aim for has been hard I am curious how it stands up the the Asetek La Prima at the same price range. The la prima doesnt allow you to plug in pedals or anything to the back which is a shame at that price
Budget will dictate to a large degree, but if you’re going from a G923 to direct drive, my recommendation might be to get a CSL DD. 5Nm will be mind-blowing coming from the Logitech, and you can upgrade to 8Nm without replacing your wheelbase in the future if you choose.
Great content and very helpful! I just bought one too but i'm fighting with the profiles for the ACC and normal Asseto. Can you please share your profiles for the 2 games? Thank you so much !
They took a big step foward with this. Next time they need 70% alu and 30% plastic instead of 98% plastic lol. Also yes yoy can turn it up and fight it. I prefer center forces most gettung wheelbases want that bevause it helos that control feel. Just because some want lighter and detauled doesnt mean others dont want to feel the weight and details. Me zi want center torque where jm turning in and right away feel the tightness. Reason why? It hells me lnow where my grip is right when it gets light I can catch it. This is a big reason yo get stronger dd wheel bases because its allowing you to feel way more controlled. Instesd of holding a looser base guessing what looseness means that grip is going. Like that nice constant torwue really helps eliminate the understeer feel smd helps find the limits of grip. So for me not just detail but also strength. Its not real driving so we need these queues to help us. But we do all have different styles. Listen once you adapt to what im saying you realize why stronger dd wheels matter. If you dont want that then get weaker ones because those small bit more you get wont actually make you faster. Just cant say subjective things as if its facts and repeat what others say when that isnt the case for alot of us. Yes for many of us torque does matter or we wouldnt use them at 15nm for control and knowing our limits of grip snd yes the detail being a bit stronger. Im 100% faster with more center constant torque then I am without it. Because every little motion i make I can feel ans I can feel the weight transfer and the wheels so I can judge where im at and be more consistent.

@@SimRacing604 ALL GOOD! Glad I can help. Good luck putting it together. Reason being for the idea, is that about a month ago, I forked over for a WHOLE NEW setup; rig and ALL!...lol I had the fist Next Level Ultimate Cockpit with all it's bells and whistles, with a Thrustmaster TX base and a few wheels/rim. Do these latest MOZA wheels finally have an "auto" steering ratio or sensitivity (like Fanatec) that works with titles like AMS 2 that support automatic steering lock adjustment when a vehicle is selected? It's kind of a major oversight...I don't think there is a single popular sim that contains cars that only have one steering lock setting. Titles like AC, AMS/AMS 2 or iRacing have such a huge variety that fiddling with the control panel every time you change vehicles is pretty silly.
I’m slightly confused as your Moza R21 V1 review was more than generally positive, it was gushing, ‘putting it at the very top of the wheel bases you own’ even including newer technology like the Logitech DD 5:20 Pro. I presume the new R21 review is coming, so will be interested to see what the differences are between V2 and V1 as i own the V1.

Im leaning towards the r16v2 or La Prima. (pricing here: Moza 870€, Alpha 900€, La Prima 750€)
Really starting to lean to moza. Fanatec is done for life. Simagic I’ve been attempting to buy for 5 months and I am never able to get it without having to pre order. Asetek looks great but they just don’t offer a full setup still.
Shame there's no console support which led me to heavily investing in Fanatec 8nm dd pro. Now i want to upgrade and caught in between DD+ needing to upgrade QR1-QR2 for my wheel collection or wait for a non available QR1 base side downgrade to hit market or transition to something like moza. How to do you feel about going from MOZA R9 V1 which is my case , I'm thinking about getting this base but not quite sure if I should do it , I'm not interested in terms of the torque strength because I will never use the full power (but ofc it's nice to have it) , I'm more in to the overall ffb quality, clipping, smoothness compared to the old R9 V1 🙂
Nice informative video, thanks. I’m curious about the variation in force you feel cornering. You talk about fighting the wheel, but just what is simulated by those forces? My R5 sometimes had what feels more like a wobble in the corners. Having never driven on a track I’m never sure if that’s useful information simulating something in a real race car or a problem with my settings. Thanks for any advice you can offer on this. I’d love a video on “FFB What Am I *Supposed* To Feel (And What Is It Telling Me)”
The FFB video is in the works. I’ve got the script outline done. Regarding fighting the wheel, what I’m referring to is what can be seen in real on-boards, there the drivers hands are visibly shaking when cornering. In many or most cases, this is not the driver making micro-corrections, but rather the tires and suspension moving over the track surface. There is a certain amount of unavoidable “bounce” in a stiffly sprung car. This can be felt through higher end DD wheels, but less so through belt or gear driven wheels.
Great chilled out video, as usual! Hi, Thanks for the review. I want to switch to dd and I'm considering Simagic Alpha or Moza R16. Which database will have a more detailed ffb? Have you compared these databases? What are the differences between them? Thanks for the help :)
In my opinion, the R16 is enough for nearly all use cases. With that said, the price jump from 16 to 21 isn’t huge, so you’d be future proofing your wheel for a very reasonable premium. In other words, if you can afford the 21, go for it.
Perfect timing for this question. I was just thinking about this. Fanatec, Moza, Thrustmaster or Logitech out of the box are miles ahead of the AccuForce for FFB quality. But the tuning software for AF significantly narrows the gap and maybe even helps the AF surpass many offerings from those brands.
A lot of it is rooted in the underlying FFB system. This wheelbase uses the second generation of their force feedback system, which is far superior. Also, it has the connection hub at the rear.
Moz's discord says that the only differences are in the ports on the rear panel, the front mount and the presence of a five-pin connection for the steering wheels, the engine is the same
