nice to see the update. took me about four years to make my gen 1 a reliable daily rig and have it perform to its potential on the trail. yes, there are metal clips that hold the headlight washers in place, and they seem to fall off and are missing from most junkyard rigs i pick over. after a lot of effort, i have been oil leak free for years - huge accomplishment. you'll probably want to do the valve stem seals while you're in there - if the rubber is hard or cracked, they're ready to be replaced. thanks again for the update - keep 'em rollin!

That's a good point, what method did you use to replace the valve stem seals - taking the heads off or leaving them on and using some sort of special tool?

First Gens are awesome! Nothing beats the boxy styling.

I had the tint in one of my old cars removed and they used a heat gun and plastic scraper to remove the tint from the back window but following the lines of the defroster so not to accidentally remove it. Then they used acetone on cloth to remove the stubborn spots.

Thx for the insight. Unfortunately this stuff was so old it has become fused to the defrost lines and won’t come off separately anymore.

Have you replace the trailing arm bushings, Panhard bar pushing, sway bar bushing and links on your Gen 1-2? If not can you make a video on it?

    • @luso_overland

No, haven't had to do that job but have seen them done by others and those ones are pretty straightforward compared to control arm bushings. Check out the installation guides section of the description section of those items on our site for links to helpful DIY videos on those.

Do you happen to know where I can source a good brake master cylinder? I bought one off of ebay which said was an original Mitsu, but it leaked all the fluid after 4 months of being installed.

Go with Raybestos or Centric brands - available online at most bigbox auto parts stores

@@luso_overland Awesome! Thanks for the tip. I just wanted to say thanks for great work with lusoverland. I've shopped there a few times, and it's the first place I look for parts for my 1993 Gen2 SR
