The joy you express seeing the beauty of the Sierra is understandable, don't worry about repeating yourself, and there will be many more beautiful views coming until you reach Canada. The Cascade volcanoes, beginning with Mt Lassen and Mt Shasta in northern California. The incredible blue depths of Crater Lake, the tight string of volcanic peaks and players in central Oregon, the Oregon rainforest and the drop from Mt Hood to the Columbia River Gorge in northern Oregon. Lastly, the rainforest of southern Washington, the dizzying rocky ridges of central Washington, and the final stretch through the passes and valleys of northern Washington painted in fiery autumn colors. Yeah, this is the walk of a lifetime!

800 miles 👏👏👏👏👏. We are hiking that section in early August. Starting at Sawmill Pass trail head in Owens Valley and exiting kearsage pass-Onion Valley. I have done Kearsage pass to Rae lakes in the past. Hike on!
13:57 Sooty grouse (Dendragapus fuliginosus). The females look pretty similar to White-tailed Ptarmigans that also live here. The males don't though. - A+ use of ice axe for your tent line.

I'm just getting caught up with your current adventures after a little road trip of my own. You go ahead and say Gorgeous as often as you feel moved to because these are places no one gets to see unless they hike in for days on truly challenging trails which all of you did. Be proud of facing those "tricky" passages and CONGRATULATIONS on 800!
