Life is an interesting journey and very personal for each one of us but for me, decentering church, not tying my faith to a denomination and reading the bible for myself led me back to God after two years of Nihilism. While Jesus is seated at the right hand of God the father, He left us with the Holy Spirit, a comforter and a non church based Christianity led me out of the darkest season of my life. I have a new found appreciation for life and Jesus that's not necessarily based on religious practices but just resting in the gift of life and Jesus's sacrifice.
Love this. I think part of the problem is that our culture has very specific associations with the word "church," when in reality, if I'm not mistaken, the word in Greek literally means "assembly," referring to a group of people. When you think of it that way, some of the things you read in the Bible take on a whole different connotation than a modern, Western viewpoint automatically tends to assume.
reminds me of this line in a song; "it may be the devil, it may be the lord, but you gonna serve somebody", so i serve the nature. "God" (or whatever my equivalent of it) appears between beings, in the love (the good belly feeling) that i can experience with nature and all it's parts. The simple fact alone, that we and other animals can perceive, amazes me more than any story of a personified god or prophets in any book, and it's readily available at all times. How amazing biology works, infinitely complex and beauiful, and we can only ever approximate in models and such..
Im a 59 year old grandma to an amazingly 7 year old boy. I am his main caretaker. My parent's divorced when i was my grandsons age and we went to the Lutheran Church. Even as a young child i questioned the concept of hell. If Jesus died to forgive us of our sins how did hell even exist. My mom went on a more spiritual path while my father married a religious woman. I always thought relgion was too judgy. I am definitely more spiritual like my mom. I was also in an abusive marriage for 6 years and i got myself out of that with the help of an amazing womens shelter, my family and my sheer determination to save myself and my sons. Jesus/ God had nothing to do with it. Luckily i had a career and skills to fall back on. Love your content and for speaking up about how a man is not a plan.
The creation shows us there is a Creator. Being thankful for this creation is good. If our society would follow the Bible we could have a good society. The Bible shows us an economy where each family was to own land. God gives us good laws and punishments for our country if we would go by them. A family based economy is so much better than the corporate based economy we now have. God hates divorce and adultery is a capital crime, in the Bible. God has helped me through difficult times. And I know that a lot of the difficulties is because our country has turned its back on God. Knowing God is my Father, helps me to know He loves me and takes care of me.
I've left the Abrahamic construct as well. The places where all faiths of good will intersect is valid, with how we all get along in the public square secular humanism. Be kind, be mindful, follow ethical intentions, help those in need, cause less harm with choices -- most of the flavors added are cultural or from personal preferences and encounters. You might find the Unitarian Universalists a handy umbrella, as they honor good content from many paths including atheism. Their symbol is a lit oil lamp (knowledge).
Charles Darwin was a freemason. Freemasons, by definition, must believe in a god, any god, buddha or allah, and therefore cannot be atheists. Freemasons are also allowed to lie and deceive, if necessary. It appears therefore that Charles Darwin was insincere. He was not an atheist. The freemasons have been trying to push a "new world order" for a long time, and they go about it in a deceptive way. Look up Albert Pike and learn about the sinister side of freemasonry.
As a self ascribed “religion is the opiate of the masses” atheist type, I agree. Having said that, I have no problem with people that are religious. I sincerely hope their faith brings them happiness. But I also think your (whoever “you” is) religion restricts you, not me. So please don’t try to push it on me, selling it as necessary for my salvation or equivalent.
Wish there werent any cults, so many people are still suffering because of some abusive sociopaths! There are so many disgusting things happening because of religion. And it was never about religion! Entire communities were killed😢
Indeed, that’s how Galileo discovered that the Earth revolves around the Earth when church believed that Earth was the center. They tortured and killed him. But he discovered the truth. Any religion requires total faith. Thus blocks one the capability to think.you can be good and happy without religion:-) welcome fellow humanist
If someone only ever gets the credit but no blames, what do you call that respectfully?yes religions are way to control other people and create power for some. But it makes no sense that some almighty exists.
@@mujkocka God is very real, I have had many encounters with God and experienced many miracles. Look up the well documented medical miracles of Bruce Van Natta and Christopher Gunderson. Bruce's surgeon, who had been a staunch atheist, could no longer deny a higher power. His surgeon even became furious that he witnessed the undeniable miracle because it was so well documented, because he had been so invested in atheism
To be honest how do we know who we are worshipping. And how do we know it’s the correct god and not a demon? And how are we sure of his true name? I notice the more people who pray and are extremely religious tend to be the most vile people I met when the mask is off. Usually nations that are extremely religious are the most poor despite they ask for blessings from whoever god they pray to.
The answer is no. No you can’t. The problem is not God. It’s people and religious abuse. That is not God’s doing. There’s also a difference between having an actual relationship with God vs being brainwashed and obedient. Please don’t confuse the two.
@ You don’t get to tell me what I’m fit for because you have no idea who I am. And didn’t make that comment based off MY experience. I made that comment based off the experience of 1,000+ women that I know that have been in similar situations as you. And yes, I did watch. Not everyone has to agree with you.

You are a shining ray of hope for women raised in cults.

I had my Hallelujah Moment after finishing Darwin's Origin of Species.

You are confusing God with religion. They are not the same.

@@metr08 babe, you’re not a fit for my channel. Your experience is your experience don’t impose it on others. Did you even watch?
