    Thank you for this channel - you are going to help a lot of young people. Our daughter is 24. She is university educated and financially independent. Recently, we talked that the trad wife trend is a wolf-in-sheep’s clothing system that props up and rewards controlling, abusive men. The legal system and legislature in some areas of the USA are controlled by the minority, far-right religious extremists. Our USA Supreme Court and some USA states are sending women’s equality back to the 18th Century. Half of the USA is not female. Too large of a percentage of that male half believe that women do not deserve equity under the laws, in financial ownership, in household care norms, and in responsibilities of children. There’s a fast undercurrent that is radicalizing young men that sexual violence against women is traditional. Now we are talking about a minority of men who share beliefs with the Taliban about women and children. BTW the areas of the country where many of these men live have active militias and are eager to see the US, state, and local governments fail. It’s a shitty time to be a young female in the USA looking for a male partner who isn’t compromised by this BS.

    The more things change, the more they stay the same. You could have been my mother as the same thing happened to her in the 60's. Only back then, there was no support from the courts if the man didn't pay CS or alimony especially if he left the state. Mom was very lucky that her parents made room for us to live with them so we were never homeless or hungry. And that is why, I never was without a job (for very long) when I had my Oldest. As long as I've been alive, men and some women have had the attitude of patting married women on the head & saying let your husband take care of you. I call BS! And when religion is a huge factor in it, the situation gets, not only worse, but down right dangerous.

    Uummm… no. The Mormon church did NOT prohibit birth control until 1990. What a ridiculous claim. I was married 6 years before you and all the adult Mormon females in my life counseled me to decide what bc to use and referred me to a Mormon obgyn (current Bishop) who very happily advised me on this and provided me with anything I wanted. All of my married friends were using birth control on and off throughout their lives. This was in Utah. You really undercut your credibility when you make such dishonest statements.

    Men who quit their jobs so they don't have to pay child support should be jailed for child abuse. Because that is what it is....emotional trauma & abuse. They are telling that child with their actions that they hate them

    There is a problem in the USA with this often nonsense excessive need to find purple squirrels. Plenty of people have knowledge, skills, or the drive and aptitude to develop it for an assortment of job roles on the job. Money is a critical need. I say if you have to go guerrilla and/or underground to get money, do it! This is survival. Really, shouldn't a displaced homemaker be receiving something like unemployment benefits? That was your job. Leaving women in jeopardy is not going to create stability. This country is stupid and cruel. Your ex should have been required to financially support you and those kids for a long time.

    Always, always have a plan B! I work from home (it's a 9-5 job, but from home), but I don't make a fortune. My husband does earn a whole lot more than I do, we don't have any kids. I know he loves me, we are happy with one another, FOR NOW. Because who knows what might happen. I do have money put aside for dark days and I will keep adding to that. People can fall in and out of love for someone and there are so many temptations. We need to be realistic about life, not idealistic, because it can crumble right in front of us. This trend of trad wives is put on a pedestal by Republican women in America (I am neither, I am eastern european) and there are so many youtube personalities who actually say it's an amazing thing, even without it being so or them actually being trad wives. They should be put responsible for this "pandemic" and actually, more people like you need to stand up and talk about this. I have no idea what is going on in the usa lately, but there are just too many "trends" coming from there and are plaguing the world, this needs to stop.

  • @janiceh4521
    @janiceh4521 2 години тому

    I don’t think be traditional causes the problem. It’s the man who doesn’t think his kids are important enough to provide his part of what they need bc he is responsible for half of what they need from housing, electricity to clothes and food. That said when a “trad” divorce happens yes you have to pivot and provide the other part of what your kids need even when it is hard and it really sucks when a parent doesn’t do right by their kids by providing for them (no matter which). Also it speaks volumes of who he really is, he didn’t respect the job of wife,mother, housewife, chauffeur, nanny, doctor, cleaner, cook you were in the marriage bc y’all made the choice for you to be home & hands on care 24/7 for y’all’s kids bc he would know you deserve the money to provide for his children in separate homes his part and if you are working 40 hours a week to do your part and he knows your worth as a mother he would not make you wonder, wait or worry about child support being paid on time. Keep on you will survive and then thrive

    Women must realize 50-70% will get divorced. Mormon cult is a mans world. Cowards who let their family down will not get to heaven because we are all to provide for our family. Society its so hard now its not possible to live good off on one income here in Norway if your a single parents. We got to force our daughters to understand they must be able to provide for themselves æ. Fewer gets kids in Norway now. Our corrupt establishment dont care for our most important assets; our kids, our future. May Jesus return. Ask God of the Bible not the book of Mormon or Quran, but the real Biblical God to show you the way to provide as He has said He will help us. Our home is in heaven æ. In this life we must fight. Dont loose hope. Set your mind of your home in heaven and He will help us. He promised to and God dont lie. Keep asking God in Jesu name. Trust He will bless you and give you peace and joy through this hard life. Thank Him for all His done. Heving a Spirit of gratitude will make your day focus on the good God has planned for you. To God belong the vengance. To the mercyfull He will give mercy and power to find Him. And He is what we need and His Power to overcole all trials in our life. God can change your life in a day or in ten years. Hold on. Stay strong. Trad wife who became educated with 3 kids and an ex who left me in debts

    That is so scary. My mother went through that & we lived in poverty until we left home. Often hungry, cold, clothes that had been donated. So my sister & i are hyperindependent. I hate op shops I like to buy quality items because i hated the squalor we lived in. My mother would have to trudge to the phone box with a gaggle of kids, the dogs & even the cat & beg Dad for money. Our first husbands were wealthy but mean & somehow things repeated themselves. Thank god were we were employable & could rebuild our lives. I am terrified of being dependent on a man. Never again. Thank god for feminism for promoting independence.

Never have and never will since they’re broke nowadays. My father was unreliable. He helped make my self esteem fall in the toilet. I’m in school to take care of myself. There are only "rights" for men in Mormonism. They preach that men have a right to unlimited ejaculation, to impregnate your wife as many times as it happens, and to fully expect her to do ALL the work of parenting. It's honestly disgusting how women are treated as less than human beings, simply because of the bodies they are born with.

    My mom was trapped in an unhappy marriage. She spoke limited English and couldn’t find work outside the house. She endured a lot of abuse by my father throughout the years. It traumatized me so much that I always knew that I would be financially independent. Married or single I would make my own money. I actually never wanted to even get married just in case. But I met my husband and got married. I insisted that he go to college too. I told him that it was important for him to be financially independent in case anything ever happened to us. I wanted him to do well even if we ended in divorce. So now we both work and raise the kids. My kids know that it takes hard work to afford their lifestyle and it instills in them that everything is earned and not just given. I stress financial independence with all of my kids and to always be able to leave an unsafe situation. I tell her that they will ALWAYS have a safe haven in our home no matter how old they get or what situation they find themselves.

My grandfather was a great husband by all accounts, but died of a heart attack in his 40s, leaving my grandmother alone with 6 children. There are so many stories like this. A husband leaves, and then a wife is plunged into an uncertain financial situation. Even if she works, this can still happen. Earning more money is one solution, but even then the woman has so many stresses trying to do everything. Maybe women in similar situations should band together and live together. If we can't count on men, maybe we can count on each other.

    This is what I keep telling my wife, but she just doesn’t seem to understand. We’re both in our 40s, and a few years ago, she expressed interest in becoming a nurse, so she started taking classes. However, she’s progressing slowly, and I wish she’d take more credits to earn her degree sooner. I worry that if something were to happen to me, she’d be in a tough spot since I’m the primary breadwinner. I keep encouraging her to finish the degree because it would give her peace of mind, knowing that, no matter what, she’ll have a stable and independent financial future.

    Thank you for your growth and getting the word out. Everyone needs to be taught self reliance and how to understand relationship skills BEFORE getting married, not submission. Learning how to date and treat people as themselves. How a household is run as a team. How a loyal team is bonded together in love, not fear. Sex is natural and needs to be treated responsibly, not shamed. To understand life and accept your body for yourself. To learn your own bodily autonomy and that you can command "No," to know what you like and feels good to you without hurting others. And Especially to teach kids to BE responsible adults before having kids. Not to purposefully keep people ignorant and trap them into something they can't handle. Their accusing others of willful ignorance is projection.

I can't stand people who take advantage of others, like your ex and how guys in the church treat relationships. I was socially stunted because I was scared of going to hell because I liked girls and they made me "feel good inside." I hated myself because all I could think of was being tortured forever for not controlling my thoughts, instead of playing, interacting, and getting to know them in a way we're all laughing, growing and learning. I ran and was awkward, even though girls were asking me out and trying to generously pry me out of my shell, only to find out as an adult that I was the only idiot following "the rules." I feel the irrational over indulgence of pleasure is because no one is allowed to talk about "the taboo things" and learn how to treat it sensibly. My son is 20, his girlfriend and him enjoy each other, but both know they're not ready for kids and are both working on their futures, which can change later and that's okay. Saying that you need to sleep with someone to test “sexual compatibility” is just an excuse to fulfill your lustful desires. Have a conversation in private about the topic and when you are married work on it. How good your sex is should not be any where near the most important thing in your relationship. It makes up such a tiny fraction of the time you spend together. Calling all pastors scum and the bible a scam is just disrespectful. The bible is a historical document with 98 percent accuracy on historical accounts and is revered as one of the most influential and knowledge filled books to ever exist. You’re taking a few bad Christian’s and painting all Christian’s as awful people when on average Christian community live far more moral lives than you aethiests because our moral framework is actually grounded in something other than our subjective ideas aka gods word.
